I run the Onlive using virgin fibre optic 10mb over wifi and it doesn't run that well. I'D say you would need something a bit faster or you may need to be. Closer to your router.
ALSO. DO NOT PLAY USING 3G it will not work and if it does :you will juice up all your data in an instance(10mins)

Everything seems to work till you go to watch the movie then it will only play for 8sec thru the app. At least I can finish watching the movie thru the TF's browser.
So you can watch the movie in the browser? 720p?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Yes sir. I launched the app, clicked on the video which launched the browser to make the purchase. I ordered the movie, clicked play and it asked me to play back thru the app or the browser. I tried the app and it would only play 8sec then stop. I went back to the browser and this time when it asked me to choose I picked the browser and it worked fine. Yes, in 720p
EDIT: Forgot to mention I was getting an message in the app player something about my rental had expired.
Also, it gives you the ability to display personal videos on a youtube style video wall. Now just gotta figure out how to make cover art show up, instead of the video snippet it uses. This is what I was coming on the boards tonight to actually inquire about - How to show movies with cover art from a screen I could choose from. Problem solved!
I am10 minutes into Hall Pass, playing right out of the app, tethered to my iPhone while in the car. This is super sweet.

What's up, neighbor in Orlando? I am in Vero Beach...
Super simple...for your 3G (NOT a 3GS, right?) you'll need to jailbreak it and find an app in Cydia called 'MyWi' or 'PDANet'. Both of these will allow you to both tether with the USB cable as well as via wifi and bluetooth. If you have a 3GS, and you happen to be running iOS 4.x, you can download a tweak called 'TetherMe' which enables the native hotspot tethering in iOS4. Good luck...PM me with any questions.

OK so were you on home wifi or 3g when you did this. And how come you were only able to play the movie in 480p. Were you playing it in 480p in the browser or in the app?
Thanks for trying to out
I was at home on my wifi. I played it thru the browser. Paying it thru the app only played it for about a minute. Don't know why it only allowed 480p but it only allow that on my google tv too.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
hmmm the rite is a fairly new movie. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it was playing on the web and not on the app. Although that's odd because on YouTube when a video is HD it plays 720. Oh well thanks for answering the posts. Hopefully Google will release the in app video update soon.
some games like gameloft require a wifi connection to download the data...the problem is I have a 7.2mgbs data plan conc so how can I use it instead of wifi...is there a way do fake my plan as a wifi connection?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I don't think they require it, just that they recommend using wifi. I have downloaded some games from gameloft myself and I had no problem using 3g.

Someone please have a legit answer to his question. I want to play Order and Chaos via 3/4G!!
Have you tried turning on wifi tether and see if it tricks the game to think you are on wifi and not 3g. just a dumb idea but it might work.
You could always go to a "shady" site and download the SD card data via PC. Or I suppose you could have a friend setup their phone as a wifi hotspot so that you could download that way.
These are all workarounds but...if one want's to play Order and Chaos via 3/4g
I have a phone and a tab and can tether my tab and play but ideally this would be nice to be able to accomplish with one device on it's own. Someone has to be clever enough to code a way to make apps think there is a valid connection, probably some iptables wizardry and place the wifi adapter into loopback mode if possible.
Is this possible? I use it for browsing the internet and general tablet, but can you turn off the screen when just watching or not using the transformer? Was wondering if this was possible at all.

i believe that the youtube app has that function as well as the google movies app but i dont think anything else does it. You would have to ask the app dev to include the feature

Well I played A game with Goo. but my battery dies so fast...
After a short (yet cheap) disappointment with the Google Chromecast, I'm looking to get a nice piece of hardware to place next to my TV in the living room.
Wanted features:
HD Video playing capabilities with wide variety of formats.
Play downloaded files.
Play from distance (inside the house). Video could be either streamed OTA or transferred to a locally attached storage unit through a LAN connection (either wireless or not, the router is gonna be right next to it anyhow... )
Affordability is always a pro...
Raspberry Pi with raspbmc or openelec?

The gbox midnight mx2 is an awesome device. Its essentially a rooted android computer that uses your TV as a monitor. You can get info on it from matricom.net
You would need a wireless keyboard/remote device to control it. There is a Logitech one recommended on the amazon page.
You can also use a 32gb micro SD card for additional storage too

Its 25 dollar for raspberri or 100 for the other one. Does it really worth the extra buck?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yes it plays them very well.
I yet have to find a file which doesn't play well.
It's not an out of the box experience, but the price and after all results are worth the hassle.
You can use your android as a remote and there are a lot of plugins (online streaming etc.)
