No not at all, you might be thinking about the IMEI which is illegal to change in many countries. Anyways, what are you looking for OP? By 4G are you referring to the radio?

[Q] 3G spoof

So here is my question,
How fake other 3G network proxy/ip. Can u tell me which app does that.
We all know how to change(fake) ip adresse on computers, but i dont know which app does that on android phones.
Ex im on Tele2(3g) and i want to fake T-Mobile (3g)
I dont think you can do that
Not sure exactly what you mean by "fake". Are you simply trying to change your phone's IP address, or are you trying to spoof?
And I'm having a difficult time imagining what you could be trying to achieve, at least legally?
I have to spoof 3g from tele2 to t-mobile...

ARRRG Verizon

Heya All
Can anyone explain to me why even though I have never activated the data on the xoom when I bought it in the US why when I connect via Wifi in the UK where I live it will not let me download UK only apps.
Iplayer, Sky news, TVguide all the UK only apps are not allowed.
I have turned off all the CDMA crap even put it on flight mode with wifi but still it thinks I am in the US. I have tried market enabler as well dont work..
Any help would be appreciated.

It is the IMEI number. My guess is that market looks at this number, then checks what country that number was sold in/assigned to.

ummm. I look at it
service state : out of service
mobile network state: disconected
mobile network type: unknown
nothing about IMEI...I thought CDMA didn't use typical IMEI stuff though i might be wrong.

As far as I know, Market looks for IP address and rom version. So your problem probably is rom version.
I don't know if you tried the app called market access. You can use it to emulate the UK market instead of the Verizon one which probably doesn't have UK specific apps

Have you tried installing them from the market website?

you cant take a device from one region to another and have it work over the networks. you have to have the device from your local region

I had a galaxy tab from another region and that worked fine.
If you enabled "allow mock locations " would that work?

Tried Market access as per your reply put in the orange uk code but nothing changed UK apps still not visible in the market..
Finally found an apk for bbc iplayer but wont play videos, not sure if that is an issue with honeycomb compatibility or something else though.

Rogers Razr HD cant tether

There has to be a way to tether with this thing... From what I have read around they say... The latest update to JB blocked the tether option... I have it unlocked and using it with Telus... This is going to be a real pain in the rear... I used to use my S2X to tether when I was in the usa on Tmobile daily plans....
Anything I can do ?

Are you rooted?
If you are, pickup an app called sqlite editor and follow instructions in this post (modify for your tethering apn obviously)

I'm on JB and I can tether, I don't believe the ability to tether is a function of Jelly Bean but a function provided by your carrier.
Cheers

You need to add a Dun profile for your provider, if it is prevented by regular way of adding apns, you'll have to use my method to hack it in. No other options that I know of, sorry.

Oh great, then just add dun to the profile that mms resides on. You can add multiple services for each APN. Try making the apn type in this apn like the following :
default,mms,supl,fota,agps,hipri,dun

That works great... Thanx for everything.... I can hot spot and receive pics...
Any Idea as to why I cant send pics ?

My tethering want working either gave an error. When I went into the apn I saw there was a FIDO tethering apn pre installed. When I clicked it the first time it still did not let me use it but I clicked on it once our twice more and it seemed to work. Tested it out and tethering was fine once again.
I didn't have to input anything just clicked on it

On my Razr, tethering would disable the internet on the phone. Eventually I solved it by adding the "old-style" APN (for rogers) instead of using the "LTE" apn that by default was in the phone.
So my suggestion is either search the internet for new APN information for telus, or, find someone who has successful tethering on their telus phone and copy the APN they use.

APN Question

In "more" under mobile networks... Under APN, are these all supposed to NOT be checked?? TIA!

Hmmm, that's really weird lol. You only have 1 option and it's check marked, I have 3 and none of em' are... odd.
Yeah and I got 5 options and none of em are selcted lol. I know nothing about APNs so I couldn't really comment on it. Curious myself.

I remember checking the apn settings the first day I got the phone. I only had one option then too. Not sure why I have 5 now. Reading up on APNs now!

I honestly have noooo clue lol.
Took this from Wiki
A mobile device making a data connection must be configured with an APN to present to the carrier. The carrier will then examine this identifier to determine what type of network connection should be created, for example: what IP addresses should be assigned to the wireless device, what security methods should be used, and how or if, it should be connected to some private customer network
Makes sense, the APK is needed so you device can communicate it the carrier to determine which network your phone should connect with. Still not sure what the need is, for multiple APNs, but at least I understand now what there used for exactly. The past week, I've worked again in downtown Boston, and my phone had no issues with handing off from 3G to LTE. Unfortunately I can't say the same for when I'm at home about 4 miles away. Kinda sux really. I know this isn't the topic for this thread, but I'm just hoping Sprint fixes this Spark issue soon, cause it's extremely frustrating.
Anyway, for anyone who wants a bit more info on APNs, Judy check out the Wikipedia page.

Ok, first BUCK FOSTON!!! hahaa
Seriously though, I'm still confused as to why I have 3-4 APN configurations and some others her have less, and then I'm even more confused as to why none of mine are selected, yet data and stuff still work....

1. Are any of the APN's selected?
2. What's the difference between automatic and LTE/CDMA; are you still getting 3G + LTE?

Agreed, wish we could get some definitive answers on what the various APN settings are/what they are used for.

Running Android M and elemental X 6.04N5, I'm trying to Spoof My wifi Mac, any help?

So the story is. At the university we pay about 160$ "extra fees" per semester. 4 Days ago, wifi got locked on all mobiles and now it's only usable on laptops. Decided to spoof the wlan0 Mac address on my phone because it's my right to have wifi on my phone, rooted it and installed elemental X, but no mac spoofing apps are working, I tried Mac Ghost and it changes the mac but then the wifi doesn't work because it's stuck on authentication. The MacChanger app worked once and never again. Can i get some help please? Thanks.
It isn't your WiFi network, so it isn't your right to have unconditional access to it. You're also most likely breaking the terms of use for the university network by doing this.

NVM i solved the issue. University WiFi is open and the spoof worked since there is no authentication.
also basically they're ripping me off.
