[Q] What are the mnt/ and dev/ partitions? - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I recently bought a Motorola Spice XT (XT531, Fire XT) and one of the few annoying things of it is the small internal storage capacity (about 150Mb). By a df command I found there are three partitions whose free space sums over 600Mb!! What are those partitions? What are they used for? Is it some kind of programmer mistake that they have such a enormous free space?

Does this work with WM2005?
i take it from your lack of response that the answer is a resounding NO then
why don't u try it and tell all of the other lucky 2005 OS owners?
Personally i found it to be memory leaking on 2003SE. But hey. its free

Failing to compile system.img due to lack of space

Ok, i need help. I'm so close to finishing my first jelly bean build for the LG P505. I'm at where it exports the system.img but i get an error about how the image is to big. How can i free up enough space in the source to where the system image has enough? Iv'e tried deleting the apps from the system folder for the device but when i do brunch p505, it rebuilds the apps again. Need help from any dev that has had this problem before.

[Q] Extending data partition (Lenovo a1000)

Hello folks,
So, I just bought a Lenovo Ideatab a1000 tablet (4gb edition) and unfortunately, I came to know that lenovo has partitioned the eMMC card rather uniquely. Only 500 MB is available for installing applications while other space is reserved for data etc.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Obviously, I ran out of space after installing 7-8 applications.
I wanted to ask is there any way to extend the partition to use the whole space? If yes, how?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Annoying app offering

Hi 2 everyone,
I have Xiaomi MI2S with MoKee ROM and found out that after every install (does NOT matter if its app, game etc.) this weird app-offer comes out at the bottom of the screen:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
...anyone has the idea whats that and how to get rid of it? Any ideas strongly appreciated!
Sincerely, JayM
PS: Has this thread to be placed in Xiaomi MI2S section? (or better to be there?)

My android devices originally have 32gb storage but now it now only shows i have 5.65

I have a oppo find 7 android devices, but recently i have change my rom, but when i turn on the phone and go to the storage section it shows i have 5.65gb of internal storage and i also saw a sdcard0 available and it has 23.47gb. Is my phone partition split? And what should i do? Btw i think i messed up when i installing my rom using TWRP custom recovery.
