If you can get lucky and find one at a TMO store, but I doubt it. They aren't making anymore.

Is there a possibility for worldwide shipping? I'm from Brazil and my chances for getting to a T-Mo store are zero (finding a Desire Z around here was an epic quest already)... So my only chance for finding this one-of-a-kind dock is through a eBay auction.

It's because people don't know how to bid on ebay. A 6-day auction starts at .99 cents and someone bids $15 right off the bat. There's still 6 days left! Save your big bidding for the last 5 minutes of the auction. That's of course, from the buyer's point of view.
From the seller's point of view however, it's great! I've been there. ROGUE7474, well done sir, you are gonna make a good profit on your sale

[Q] Best price for an Infuse

OK, I'm ready to give up my Backflip, and move up to a Infuse. I saw that Best Buy has them for around $100, any better deals out there? I am elgible for upgrade, with ATT, and saw that Amazon has it for $150, and Walmart for $130.

Damn 100$ isn't bad at all,doubt you will find better.

I just upgraded to the Samsung Infuse 4G through AT&T website and got a refurbished one for $19.99.
Just today 8/27/2011 so dont know how long its been at this price. I had been checking in on it for some time but the owest they had dropped the refurbished one
to was $149.99 so I was surprised it was $19.99 so I had to get it.

I picked mine up for $97 at Sam's Club.

Just seen today with a qualifying 2 year contract they are going to for $98.99..I paid $160.00 for mine at our local Costco.

If you're a costco member, it might be worth the extra money to buy it there. They give you 90 days to decide if you like the phone, with unlimited exchanges and model swaps.

$19 at Costco ... special sale. There was a big sign last Thursday on the mobile booth. Think it lasts a few weeks. This was in Union NJ but I assume it is national (I think it is in their latest coupon book).

Thats for the info! I'm not a costco member, but will look into that this morning. My thought on the sg2 is that it will be $200 when it is released (next week, next month, whenever), and will not come into the $50 range anytime soon.

I believe you can tell them you want to "check it out" and they will give you a 1 day shopping pass but you pay 10% more. It's also possible you can buy at the mobile kiosk without being a member (just like the pharmacy). Besides, you must have at least 1 friend who is a member.

Just looked online, Costco on line is $119. I did notice that several of the phone prices are cheaper instore, vs online. Walmart online was $129, but $98 in the store. Might be time for a road trip, nearest Costco is 50 miles away.

I doubt you'd be able to buy it without a membership. I don't know about the one-day pass, but when I purchased mine at costco, the mobile kiosk sent me to the regular checkout with a voucher to pay (where they checked my costco card as usual), and they had me wait there while someone ran back to pick up my phone/accessories.
One additional point is that you do get a free car charger and some other useless crap along with your purchase, so if the prices are similar, you save the $5-10 if you actually want one.

T-Mobile sent me a G2x without the T-Mobile Branding.

Today, I received my replacement device from T-Mobile, and instead of having it say "T-Mobile" above the display, it says "LG". It's a P-999WD, and has the July 15 baseband.
It's not an issue, but I thought it was pretty weird. Now I have an Optimus 2x ;D

Nah, it was a Warranty Exchange, so no battery/cover were included.

Here in Canada we only get the non-branded black/grey ones

No back cover included for me either. Only difference is the "LG" above the display.

Wow. Do you have some sort of issue? You could have politely corrected him. This kind of behavior isn't welcome on XDA (or anywhere, for that matter).

That's what the ones from WIND look like. They have no issues except minor screen bleed.

They're not exactly the same... They are however VERY similar. I'd say maybe they're more like fraternal twins than identical.

Hmmm... I'm going to pick my replacement up from UPS in the morning. Wonder if I'll get unbranded? Guess I'll post back here once I find out.

I actually don't even think they would know that you're not the original owner, unless you tell them. If you do warranty through T-Mobile, you'll have to pay a $20 fee, but if you have Premium Handset Protection, which is $7.99 a month, it's only a $5.00 fee, but it covers physical damage, and theft. Normally, you can't get Premium Handset Protection after 14 days, but they'll offer it to you during your warranty exchange. Also, if you have Premium Handset Protection, they'll give you FREE overnight shipping if you request it before 8pm EST.

First of all he deserved to be tag teamed. He must be one of those little kiddies that mommy and daddy bought a expensive smartphone for. that is the reason for all this crap on xda now because everyone has a smartphone now including the assholes. For some reason they all seem to be gravitating toward the g2x and that is not to say all g2x owners are assholes but I also have the sgs2 and this **** just doesnt seem to go on there.

There has been all kinds of drama over there. From people being accused of kanging other roms and people getting banned to just general retardedness like that guy. It's bad all over the place. Kind of sad really.
I agree. I think most of it is kids getting on here and thinking they need to make a name for themselves and show how badass they are.

Picked my replacement up today and unfortunately it's still branded. Screen seems to be much better than my previous phone, even though they were both DWs. Oh well.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. I do eCare for a cable/internet/phone provider in Canada and we can be crafty with our words when we need to.
The way I'm interpreting things is that they ship locked devices and can add support later for certain carriers. He did NOT however specify that they WOULD add support for AT&T. If he were able to, he would have tried clarifying that definitively as to satisfy the customer's question and close contact.
Carriers have many confidential agreements and contingencies. I would imagine that support for unlocking AT&T devices would be contingent on the terms that they've agreed upon with HTC. And unless AT&T specifically requests unlocking support, I do not think it would be added. It would be bad for HTC to ship unlocked devices or simply add unlocking support without a carriers explicit consent.
That's the way I see things at least. Although I have a Rogers device I want to hear AT&T comment on this with a definitive response. They need to be accountable and transparent with their plans. We shouldn't need to find the answer from the vendor or another third party.

This is a better response than the other ones.

Here's my interpretation:
If they knew that they were 100% going to unlock it, I believe that they would say so. There is no point to not doing so, especially after feeling all of the pressure about it.
They can/want to unlock it, thus keeping their word. However are waiting for the "OK" from AT&T to do so.
Before I saw this post, I sent them a message asking about the unlock as well. Let's see what sort of response I get :-/

Their goal should be to answer your question and kill any further questions. That wouldn't quell my concerns if I had asked the question. I would have followed up and specifically asked if that means my carrier is DEFINITELY on board with this or if there were other contingencies.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong though. I hate locked bootloaders!

The easiest way to communicate that would be to apologize for not being able to divulge those details as they are part of their confidential terms and conditions with AT&T.
I've sent dozens of thousands of emails and have done the same amount of chats with customers and we are a lot more clear than that. I asked some colleagues (and fellow Android geeks) what they make of it and they said it sounds like a cop out. I hate to admit it, but someone's we get asked tough and direct questions such as "When will your PVR support XXX feature that YYY carrier has activated", and all we can answer is with something ambiguous because we know there's problems or that it's a long ways away, etc.
Maybe I'm thinking too much into things. I just read it completely differently though. I wonder how long it will take AT&T to make a public statement. All the other Android sites are starting to cover the same issue.

I'm pretty sure HTC will unlock the bootloader for the AT&T One X. It's a beast phone and tons of people are getting it. If not, I'm sure our crafty devs will come up with a solution.

There's already 1 possible method that might work. We'll see soon. It involves temp rooting and then unlocking the BL after. it's an idea jcase has but we'll see what happens.

Too late now but sams club had a free with two year contract. I'm sure something like that will come around again.

I had purchased mine at a 3rd party verizon dealer that offered price matching and took in a screen shot of Amazon's price and got the phone for 60$ (though the week before i had paid 80 for my girlfriend's the same way, the price went down after a week, i was quite surprised)

What do you suggest then is the cutoff point for what makes sense and what doesn't? I'm dealing with a thunderbolt with poor battery life and slow response time, but I like having no contract. Any tips on how to analyze this?

I got mine at staples on saturday and made $30 on the deal. They took my old Dinc2 and gave me $50 for it. I got another $5 in store coupon which brought it down to $45r for the phone. They also were doing a $50 mail in rebate on all phones $99 and up which puts $5 in my pocket. They also gave me a $25 Google play gift card. Needless to say, I upgraded both my phone and my wife's phone too. With both phones they paid me $60 to take them.

What do you suggest then is the cutoff point for what makes sense and what doesn't? I'm dealing with a thunderbolt with poor battery life and slow response time, but I like having no contract. Any tips on how to analyze this?

Been there done that I also "had" 2 thunderbolts 1 I had 6 remans 1 had 1 reman with the promise they will work 3 trouble tickets and 1.5 months later I slipped into 2 s3 with unlimited data and upgrades left intact.
I spent a butt load of cash to protect them all in all 60 gigs later I'm on top
