Using the note to read but finding it uncomfortable to hold it without touching the screen inadvertently. Is there an app to toggle screen touch input?

When i want it to, screen input by touch should be disabled
Try "screen tools 2" by hatcyl. Might be what you're looking for.

Thanks but Galaxy Note doesn't have a camera button or a search button to disable the screen with.
Any app which can do it with a widget or with tasker?
Try "No Touch".
I'd love an app that disables touch input but keeps S-Pen input. Would make all note taking apps so much better!

I love swiftkey but i hate that when the keyboard is out it says "select input method: swiftkey 3" as an ongoing process in the pulldown tab and puts an icon in the notification bar. Can't find anything in the swiftkey settings to disable this. Is there a fix?

I've been using swiftkey for a long time (swiftkey, swiftkey x, swiftkey 3) and have never seen that. Are you sure you have completed the setup?

I think it only says that when you're actually using the keyboard. If you hit the 'back' button, the keyboard (and notification) should go away.

yeah it does only say that when you're actually using the keyboard... my question is, is there a way to get rid of it while the keyboard is in use? It's not a deal breaker but it annoys me having that keyboard icon in the notification bar. Just wondering if there's a way to go in with an editor like how you can get rid of the ongoing wifi notification.

Just wanted to be clear, this is an intended function of ICS not any one keyboard. As far as mods to remove it, I'm honestly not sure just yet.

The "IME Switcher" is what its called, and it's a feature of ICS and JB - I know that some AOKP (such as BMc08GT's) nightlies include an option to toggle it on/off.
Actually, I just came across this post on how to do it in any ROM if you're willing to get your hands dirty editing your framework.jar file.

This is true, and it is useful if one ever wants to switch between say a Bluetooth Controller for a game and the keyboard on the fly.

Is there a way to disable the screenshot option on the bottom toolbar?
I am so used to that spot being generally the extra settings or options button for most apps so as a result, i have a crapload of accidental screenshots that i always have to delete because i hit it accidentally.

There's an option in the settings for the quick button. Changes it to none and it goes away.
Here are the options.

Thank you, I was looking for this too
If I set quick button to none, what's another way to get a screen capture?

Hold down the button on the stylus then hold the tip on the screen and wait

Or press and hold power and volume down buttons.
Didn't realize this setting was there, this is so much better. Thanks.
any idea on how to disable the stylus screen cap. that button combo also switches brush/eraser in layerpaint and I'm always taking a screen cap at the wrong time.

Is there a way to get SNote to stop zooming in when your Palm hits the screen? I tried the disable hands thing at the bottom right, but it turns out SNote still detects two fingers and palms.

I'd like to know as well, and I have the same problem in Sketchbook Pro.
I've also got the same problem in sketchbook pro. It's be great if you could just disable finger input entirely when the spen is out, and soon by tapping plus or minus or something.

Bump...this is an overlooked flaw in the UI design. XDA to the rescue! Its a bummer when your writing and all of a sudden...you are zoomed in at 200%. Someone help us...also the settings tab on the status bar is frequently activated when I'm writing. I think that when the pad is in S-note or any other writing mode for that matter any non-pen input should be ignored... until switched off or reboot.

It's annoying me so much that I'm likely going to return the tablet tomorrow. I'm still within my 14 days. When I right on a notepad or notebook, my palm definitely sits on the page. I end up zooming in/out or hitting the *system tray (clock / settings etc).
I love the multipoint screen but there's got to be a way to turn it off.
GMD Spen also requires root. I don't want to root my device until it's out of warranty!

Touch input should be disabled when your spen is within the air-view distance from the screen. Just make sure your pen is close to the screen before you put your palm down and do not lift it too far off while you write.
Really wish for a control to turn off pinch zoom in S Note on my Samsung Note Pro!!
Stock and unrooted here are some issues I've been having:
Seemingly slow charging even on LG charger.
Auto brightness seems super bright.
Status bar color sometimes stays a shade of transparent black. Needs a tap to make it totally transparent.
3rd party keyboards like Swift key have certain compatibility issues.
"Okay Google" doesn't work.

On the flip side, I really miss the ^ & < menu & back gestures from the Note II, hate having to reach down to the buttons. Wish they'd included both.
