Official 2.6.36 drivers from Nvidia are OUT! - G Tablet General

So some of you might know that devs have been working their asses off on a custom .36/.39 kernel but earlier Nvidia released drivers for Harmony:
http://developer.nvidia.com/linux-tegra
So Viewsonics excuse is now invalid (AKA go yell at them!).

Now if only we were running Linux and not Android on our tablet
This may help, but its not the solution.

True but the tools are there for Viewsonic to make a proper update (from the work of modders and Nvidia's drivers).

Will this help the backtrack5 build?
Sent from my Droid using XDA App

All in good time. Developers are working hard on it every day.

So is anyone anywhere playing with this driver?

Need to develop Nextwindow touchscreen driver for Android 4.1

I'm working on getting Nextwindow 2700 series overlays to work with an MK802 III running Android 4.1. I am not experienced enough to pull this off myself, so I was wondering if one of the knowledgeable people on this forum would be able to either program one for me for a price or point me in the right direction. If you're interested, please reply and I will message you my email address.
If this was posted in the wrong section, I apologize to the mods and please move as necessary. Thank you!
Hi I do need that driver too for a 2750, have you checked this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N9cR08u-0U

Im looking for a way to proper root it and unroot if I need later. And update the android version if possible.
I haven't tried any method cuz Im new to this and I dont wanna brick it.
The specifications are the followoing
Processor: 1,2GHz Dual Core

Hi,
I can't find anything on XDA about your device, but one of the first 2 for methods in this directory may possibly work for you.... Use at your own risk of course,
XDA Root Directory
As far as a newer android version goes.... Unless someone stays development for your device, you will probably have to wait for the manufacturer to update you.... Assuming they do.
Good luck!

If those methods don't work out for you, you will need to ask for help here....

Hi, thanks for the answer.
That seems some what dangerous method to root :crying: , but I will see if it will work :fingers-crossed:
Unfortunately I think they wont update it to a later android version. I was thinking if I could update through an unofficial way?
The main reason is to use the apps mentioned in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329080 , to remove the buggy touch buttoms, that sometimes when pressing back it also takes screenshots or and reduces the volume, also happens when Im just scrolling the setting menu or in some games, that is really annoying . And to reduce the resolution to see if I can get some better fps in games, though the gpu is a mali 400. But that requires 4.3 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomone.resolution_changer
Rooting has nothing to do with updating... In a way.
Yes, developers can often create aosp roms for devices with Android versions higher than the devices official last version. But I can't find any for your device. And yes, you need root and a custom recovery for flashing roms. So those root methods probably won't help with that.
So it's up to the manufacturer to update you.... And they may have stopped updating your device, or just haven't yet. Updates can come very slow, if ever for less popular devices I'm afraid.
As far as Rooting being risky, yes it can be. Everything we do when altering our devices can be risky. It comes with the territory.

If you want to avoid risk for now, I suggest asking for help in the 2nd link I gave you. ?

I wont say its impossible but yes it is pretty difficult.
All you can actually do is to wait
---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:01 PM ----------

I don't intend to be rude here but...
First you should consider searching before creating a new thread.
There is a similar thread posted a few days ago...

Where can i download the Sailfish OS for Xperia L C2105 device?

In this page https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Adaptations/libhybris , the Xperia L has been shown on list, but i can't find the download link, so someone can help me?
Maybe it doesn't exist because no one ported?
I had asked this same question a while ago, too. There was a guy from Ukraine (and some more, I think) who were working on porting this, but they stopped working on the project for some reason - whether it was that there just wasn't interest in this, or the people left, I don't know.
Think you should give up on that.

the porter was: energycsdx
go onto freenode IRC, go to channel #sailfishos-porters
and beg for an install zip
Camera and LED and NFC (NFC is broken in every port, no MW and no HAL IS NOT ENOUGH IN MOST CASES), GPS, and other things are broken.
EDIT: OOF nevermind he hasn't been on for 2.5 years wow, and it seems voice calls were half-broken. for anyone necro-reading this, look for his repos on github if possible and start porting yourself if you want with the Saifish OS hadk. god speed Xperia L users.

[THREAD LINK][ROM][Android-x86] Bliss-x86 - Includes Surface Patches

Bliss-x86
Based on Android-x86/AOSP - Including Surface Patches
Hello everyone. When I first got my M$ Surface Pro 3, the Microsoft Surface section of XDA was the most helpful section on the web for my problems/needs with that machine. I would like to help return the favor to you all and provide an alternative OS that includes all the Surface patches I could find, for everything from the Surface Pro to the SurfaceBook. Because I would like to only provide support using one thread, I am only going to link to the thread from here. But I wanted to make sure you all know this is now an option
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/x86-bliss-x86-pc-s-t3534657
ENJOY!! ANd please use the main Bliss-x86 thread for any feedback. Thanks!!

Ive been using the 7.1.2 isos from android file host\bleeding edge. There are a few isos with Sp3 at the end which seem to provide the best experience. The only issues in having at the moment is that the latest two isos run on the 4.12 Kernel. One Iso has a video playback error and the other attempts to fix this with updated mesa drivers but in turn causes a reboot on suspend issue.
---------- Post added at 05:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:42 PM ----------
Would there happen to be a version for sp3 with the 4.9 kernel hiding somewhere? Any help towards a smooth android experience on my surface pro 3 is greatly welcomed. Giving up on the bliss for now as I'm not all that savvy when it comes to decompiling, recompiling kernels and all that jazz lol. Going to give Phoenix a shot in the meantime...
