All the gingerbread roms you see are unofficial ATT Infuse leaks or ports from another device
Big Dog Infuse I997 Zeus Rom

Gingerbread has not been officially released for Infuse yet. Checking for updates will do nothing until an official is released by AT&T.
Otherwise, you have to download one of the many roms on this site. Then you have to use a tool such as clockworkmod or ODIN to flash it to your phone. The thread for each rom will usually tell you which tool to use with some instructions. As bignate78 said, these are not official releases. Some are unaltered (stock) while others have heavy modifications to look and function. Be sure to READ as much as you can before asking questions or attemting to flash for the first time. Developers here will bite your head off if you don't take the time to read the threads.

At&t is behind didn't they promise gingerbread in 2011 its almost 2012

Like stated below it is not an official release from AT&T. But after trying about 5 different ROMs, all of which where awesome, just couldn't find one to my liking.
So I went back to stock below is one I used, everything meaning all hardware works great, yes it takes it back to stock gingerbread which is great for the Infuse brings out the performance of the phone. IMHO
[AT&T][2.3.6]Heimdall One-Click Back-To-Stock UCKJ4 + Easy CWM install
Plus I rooted this using the
[APP]SuperOneClick v2.3.2 - Better LG Phone Support!
All of which are located in the "Infuse 4G Android Development"

[Q] What are the differences between the Rogers and the ATT version of the Infuse 4G?

Hi All,
I have just purchased the Samsung Infuse 4G as my new secondary device after my SGSII and I am wondering what the substantial differences are between the Rogers and the ATT version of this device, keeping in mind that I am in Canada and am on Rogers?
What ROMS CAN and CANT I flash? What Kernels CAN and CANT I flash?, etc, etc, etc...
Please advise as I used to have the Galaxy S I9000M (Canadian version of the International version) and I was able to flash International ROMS, etc... Can this be done on the Infuse 4G without losing my proper service bands, etc?
Thanks for the replies...
Galaxy S lable, Gingerbread that i know of.

Im sorry but I dont understand wht you are trying to tell me. What is "Galaxy S lable" and what do you mean "Gingerbread that I know of"? If you mean that the ROGERS version already comes preloaded with Gingerbread 2.3.3 and NOT with Froyo 2.2.1 then that I already know.
Please advise...
Well the Canadian Infuse is a Galaxy S device and are is not even though it is the same device. So this just proves that Galaxy S is just a label.
and the android version. those seems to be just the major differences.

Thank You again for your reply Optimus but what I am really wondering is if I am able to flash "ATT based" custom ROMS, etc after I root and install CWM. I know the rooting proceedure for the ROGERS version of the Infuse 4G is different but is the actual "firmware"? Will I mess up the device by flashing it with ROMS created from ATT firmware, etc?
Does anyone know?
i dont think it would matter since we are running your roms on your phones. Gingerbread. but i mean you can always ultimate unbrick if something goes wrong. so its worth a try. and just a hint. att roms are froyo based
From what I can tell you,
We have Gingerbread 2.3.3 we do not have HDMI output. (Not a big deal for me).
Our video recording is a bit messed up (Recording at 15fps) but there is a fix now. Other than that there's not a huge difference.
Differences:
1) Cosmetics (that's what the other guy meant by "Galaxy S label") - no differences internally hardware-wise
2) Gingerbread bootloaders
Basically 2) means you can't flash old Froyo-based ROMs because no one bothered to make them compatible with the GB bootloaders - we focused on going the other way around. Our Gingerbread kernels are capable of working with Froyo or Gingerbread bootloaders.
Any ROM you might want to flash is based on your stock firmware currently, since official AT&T Gingerbread isn't out yet. Samfirmware claims it's officially out on Kies, but Kies refuses to connect to our phones so I call BS.

AT&T firmware

does anybody know the latest OFFICIAL ATT&T gingerbread firmware version?
i mean the latest pushed out directly from AT&T.

As of now (October 19, 2011) there is no AT&T Gingerbread for the Captivate. The latest official OS is Froyo/2.2. The FAQ from Samsung explains how to install it. Those instructions are of course only relevant if you're coming from a stock Eclair/2.1 Captivate. If you have one of the developer ROMs on your phone, then the one-click thread in the development forum is going to be your best bet in finding a way to return to stock.
Check out the [Stock ROMs (All OneClicks at one place)] + [Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)] + [Modems] thread in the Development forum. I think the one that you are looking for is the Froyo one (I897UCKB2) which was the one that you had to use Kies to get installed on the device or came with the later Captivates.

The kies update installed kb1. Later refurbs and new units were shipped with kb2.
Epic 4g just got sources... so maybe not much longer. I hope.
My wife has the epic and it runs so good on froyo... I'd hate to screw with it.

Roms for LG Optimus T P509

Are roms for the optimus one compatible with the optimus t? I am interested in upgrading from stock to gingerbread or ice cream sandwich but I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere online, including XDA...
Thanks in advance

Yes. Roms for Optimus one are compatible with Optimus T. You will lose WiFi calling though. There may be a few problems with the new baseband though, as mentioned here:
Turducken said:
Any P500 rom that uses the old baseband will work flawlessly on the P509. In fact the only thing I miss about the official rom is the missed message notification on the lockscreen. CM7 is superior is every other way IMO. Once the bugs are ironed out with Oxygen, AOSP and andys Phoenix I think we'll have one of the best selections of Gingerbread roms available on any phone.
Official LG GB utilizes the new baseband. The P500 baseband does not include the 1700 spectrum. This represents half of TMOs 3g network (according to Wiki).
I've flashed the P500 baseband and had no major problems. However, weird things like the launcher only showing 3 buttons instead of 5. When my phone booted it up it took an extra few seconds before I had network reception. Battery life was slightly worse compared to Official froyo. I errored on the side of caution and went back to the old baseband. Also, the idea of only having access to half the available 3g towers was a huge turn off.
LG released the update for the Optimus One and considering Gingerbread is just a refresh of Froyo, I did expect an update. Since the Optimus V, P505, P506 and all other U.S. versions of the Optimus One haven't received the update, there's little hope and little room to complain. That doesn't change the fact that I feel I've been cheated.
My only concern is if LG releases the sources for the new baseband, will the great 01 devs start to phase out support for the old baseband?

optimus-t roms
I have the same phone and have tried many of the roms you can find here.
An excellent one to try is:
[UNOFFICIAL][ROM][stable:6.5.8,testing:6.6.1] CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (Android 2.3.7) by Mik_os no wifi calling as mentioned, but super stable w mostly everything working.
another good candidate is:
[ROM][10JAN] CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0-OptimusOne-KANG [.32][.35][BothBasebands] by adfad666
also [DEV-ONLY][ROM] CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0 Nightlies are coming along, I have run several builds, and they are very good, you need oldBBfix.zip for them to work with the old baseband (which is true with many roms if you get no data after flashing)
I'm currently running Lupohirp's very nice [Unofficial][ICS 4.0.4]CyanogenMod 9[LGP500] this rom is still being developed to fix a few issues, mostly camera, and various bugs, and with a little time and work from the devs will be the ultimate rom for our phones, in my opinion.
Have you rooted your phone already?
No the phone has not been rooted yet, it is an insurance replacement and the methods for rooting three previous phone don't seem to work

root & custom recovery
I followed this guide which worked as it should have:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...t-recovery-rom-without-touching-computer.html
you will have to register to see the links, in my case it was worth it.
The custom recovery by drellisdee is the one that works right with an optimus t,
there are good guides here on xda too of course, just sharing what worked for me.
I'm looking for a stable rom with camera working and no major issues. btw im on old baseband
Got JellyBean for P509
hey man I don't know if you know this but there is a jellybean ROM from Rasheed on there. Let me try to link to you:

Any roms for Gingerbread or later with Wifi Calling?
I am using GingerSnap on my T-Mobile P509. Very nice so far.

[Q] Windmobile Version of SGS4G

Is the Windmobile of the S-4G available to be flashed to ICS? I've flashed a few phones, just having a hard time figuring out what variant the Windmobile version is and if it's upgradable with cyanogen to a later version, debating about upgrading tomorrow to one.

Try looking at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552119
Bhundven was able to confirm that the phones are [almost] identical with a few small differences and that flashing ROMs for the 959V should be safe. Again, read the thread for more detailed information.
Pay close attention to this warning though: "If the rom contains bootloaders, please DO NOT flash them until we can confirm there are no bootloader differences."
As FBis251 said later, "TLDR: Don't flash bootloaders if the ROM contains bootloaders. No CWM roms contain bootloaders, a lot of heimdall/odin roms contain bootloaders."

If the phone come with gingerbread installed yes. You just have to be very careful. The bootloaders we have are for the T-mobile version. So if you foul up and need to flash back to stock with bootloaders you are boned. However if you just want to flash a flavor of ics this can be done with the purple link in my signature. That will get you rooted with clockworkmod recovery then just flash one of the flavors of ics.
With all that said search is your friend, this information is posted in this subforum AND the general android forums. Our dev bhundven has a couple threads on how to do this.

I've asked people if they have the stock leaked rom for t959w to PM me, and no one has.
Someone also offered to try flashing t959v bootloaders, but never got back to me. My guess is that either it worked great and he is quietly rockin some rom in the dev forum, or it bricked his device and he didn't know what to do with it.
If someone has a t959w they are replacing, I'd like to try my hand at applying AdamOutler's unbrickable mod and experimenting with bootloaders on that device.
There is also the t959p, which is the telus galaxy s 4g.
This phone is different then the t959v or t959w. It has cg2900 gps, where as we have a-gps and there are a few other differences.
The same goes there. If someone has a t959p, I'd like to try the same.
Thanks everyone. I normally search, I was just in a rush as I was getting a new phone this morn and it was between the S 4G or the Q with the slide out keyboard, but it seems no one decided to do anything on the Q, so I went for the S 4G. I'll do lots of reading before I decide to flash or not, I just like having the option.

[Q] noob needs help getting the Atrix 2 usable.

i have been using my inspire 4g for few years now with the stock 2.3.3 w/o any problem until i accepted the update notification from at&t for 2.3.5 which i hate now. Long story short, it just made my exchange email crap and it became a burden. I do not know anything about rooting so bought a used Atrix 2 hoping to have ICS on it.
But the phone came withe the following:
Android Version: 2.3.5
System Version: 55.11.11.MB865.ATT.en.US
Build Number: 5.5.1-175_EDFFW1-11
As soon as I power on, the setup screen comes in where I enter my google details and it takes me to home screen and all is well. But when I click the 'Contacts' icon, it takes me to AT&T address book directly and starts rotating endlessly. Never give me an option to disable AT&T address book in contacts. It goes directly there and never completes even though I have data and wifi enabled. I tried at&t support as i don't have at&t phonebook registered - they asked me to upgrade to ICS.
Then I tried the OTA ICS upgrade and it always says the 'The device is upto date and no software upgrade is necessary'. It never upgrades the OS. At this point, at&t said they can't do anything and asked me to talk to Motorola. Motorola said this phone is running a version that is not supported so they can't help either. I have been googling and reading a lot of posts in this forum for help without much success.
I did check out the following and asked for help there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2047087&page=2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779968&page=69
Can someone please point me a thread or give me steps i need to follow to get this phone out of stock and working condition?
I am also working on getting my inspire out of stock OS but would love to get this phone fixed first.
Thanks in advance.

If you want to get the official ICS then here is the fxz for AT&T US phones (if you are somewhere else or using a different carrier, then you probably don't want this and need to supply more info.)
A couple of things to note. Once you upgrade to the official ICS there is NO going back to Gingerbread (unless someone hacked something together and I missed it), but it's best to assume you won't. Make backups before you do anything, better safe than sorry. If you don't like not having an option to revert to Gingerbread, then there are other options, but not the one mentioned.
If all is good and you want to flash the Official ICS, then you can visit the noob guide which will tell you how to flash a FXZ and what is needed.
Thank you. I really don't like the idea of not going back to Gingerbread but at this time my priority is to get this atrix 2 up and running. So am ok to get the official ics but the following says i should go to 2.3.6 in order to get to ics. Is that still true for the link you provided?

The link you posted is for ICS Leak#1, that will get you on ICS and as long as you're on Leak #1 only, you can revert to Gingerbread by using a specific FXZ from the link you posted. Your choice. The Official ICS that I posted has everything and will overwrite everything, so whether you flash from 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 it's going to upgrade the bootloader and system. Just remember, if you use the Offical ICS, then no more Gingerbread. Personally, I haven't wanted or needed Gingerbread since I got ICS.
Dear jsknair.
You can directly flash with OTA ICS update, no need to go to 2.3.4 then update to 2.3.6 the OTA ICS.
I very easy as other guy said study noob guide. After that within 10 min you will be on ICS and its really good you don't think to go back to GB.
I like to thanks Jimbirdman :thumbup:to help me for update my Atrix 2.
