My friend has the same Nexus S (i9020a) as I do. Told me a bit ago saying his Tethering is Free... he has unlimited and tethers to his Galaxy Tab Always. does this mean I can tether for free? Been too much of a chicken shyt after att said they would change anyone's plan if they found out they were tethering. . =\
I have unlimited as well... any of you with att that still tether?

I've wanted to know this too. I tethered once when I forgot to pay my cable bill and internet got shut down. Att never said a thing but it was minimal usage

I thought they were suppose to lower their plans rates.
Good.
I'm sick of people whining about paying a "4G fee".

Fantastic... this is horrible news. I have 8 people on my plan. I guess no one is upgrading (except me because I already did ).

You could in fact be throttled. Did you recieve a text for T-Mobile about them slowing down you data for the rest of the cycle? Throttling is when T-Mobile slows down your data because you overused it, during your month cycle. Hell, I'm on a 5GB cap and I'm throttled. ): Guess you can complain to T-Mobile or wait it out.
Wow I did get a text like that wifi is good though right? Anyway thanks boss for the info

Wifi won't be affected by data throttle.

Lol I hate it when I get throttled. Thank god for wifi

What do you guys use that makes you use 5GB in a month? I'm done with my month on the 23rd and have only used 1.01GB. I feel like I'm not using my phone to it's full potential lol

As much as you probably pay, id start using it. Hell watch some shows when you not busy or download some music or games or anything. Cause regardless of how much you use your still paying the same price.

Boost mobile ics

So you can get a boost evo design 4g $299 that the site says sells with ics already on it. For $55 a month shrinking bill and $10 extra for hotspot my only problem is boost network ain't all that great but it's all sprints network. I had a boost a long time ago not never for anything like a smart phone

Boost uses Sprint network without the benefit of any roaming agreements. Sprint network without the Verizon roaming agreement is horrible. The reason Sprint is rolling out lte is cuz wimax 4g is a failure. There is a reason the service is cheap. Contract and prepay is not comparing apples to apples. It's apples to tomatoes.

i know, but again, this is the thunderbolt forum, not the evo forum. as it's posted here, this is an absolutely pointless thread, nothing more to say.

To get the unlimited data you have to pay I think an extra $10 or some sort of extra fee but the unlimited data doesn't include hotspot, for hotspot you have to pay for it seperately.

Actually, i'm not rooted (became unrooted with the last update and just haven't gotten around to rooting it agina yet, lol) and neither is a cousin of mine. We both stayed with my grandpa for a week (our grandmother passed away) and we were able to use tether. He used it for his wifi only iPad and I used it for my Nexus 7. Neither of us rooted, and neither of us got charged for using it. Both of us on T-Mobile.
I just upgraded to unlimited w/out hotspot. Only $10 more then my previous 2GB plan. I seem to remember some rooted ROMs getting around it awhile back though. Haven't tried, but hoping I can get around it still.

You may get away with it for a while, but T-Mobile is slowly cracking down on it, starting with the larger markets first

Voice & Data?

Used to be you couldn't use voice and data at the same time on VZW unless you were connected to WiFi. Someone told me that with 4G you can do both now. Fact or fiction?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Most 4g android phones if not all can. IPhone 5 cannot due to apple not taking extra effort to do the antenna right. Galaxy s3 and some HTC phones can also do simultaneous voice and data while on 3g too
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yea u can surf the internet and talk on the phone at the same time with 4g lte....all 4g android phones through vzw can do it #fact
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
the old iphone I thought used to be able to? Now they cant hahaha jokes on them. But than again with the iphone almost everyone with one has data caps so thats why you see all apple users on wifi all the time. Not meeeee unlimited 4g wooot.
Definitely can. Do it all the time on my GS3.
*sent from a Galaxy not so far away...*
Not trying to sound like a jerk. But I see in you SIG that you have the S3. Why didn't you just try it out?
I know when I go to get new phones I try to test that feature out before anything else. Feathering to my tablet so that I can stream music and being able to receive a phone call is very convenient. And a must have. Any way, to answer your question like others have. 3G and 4G. Fact.
