question for desire s skins - HTC Desire S

When can we expect skins for Desire-s with sense 3.0 and Android 2.3.5

can any one give me an answer on my question pls :=))

I guess your guess is as good as anyone's guess. Personally I very much doubt wether they actually will ever come. I wouldn't count on it, and certainly not hold your breath.

Very nice..
dreams comes true
I would like to see this on the G2x its a very nice rom.

Don't want to be the party pooper, but doesn't this need to be on an HTC device due to the HTC infrastructure? Seems like a high order to get ported. Just food for thought. Although I would definitely rock it if it came to G2x.
Anything is possible..
Sense is heavily rooted deep into the OS, at least it was when I made Windows Mobile roms w/ Sense.
I think the biggest part comes from needing drivers. I don't believe the source of Sense is available and I think "ports" come from similar devices.
The HTC infrastructure can be replicated (partitions). My Nexus One had Sense roms but required changing the partition table.
I love it when people have a craving for roms/ports just because of pictures....ALL SENSE ROMS SUCK

Thanks for the thoughtful review, I can really tell you're an intelligent guy. There must be thousands of morons all over these forums who keep installing sense roms even though they suck. Its amazing htc even sells phones at all given how bad you say they suck. Sense is a lot more than just a launcher. It has a level of integration which a LOT if people like. So next time you feel the need to give a review, try being informed of the subject material before you end up having to wipe your mouth after you speak.

Sense = Dumbed down version of Andriod. My 12yr old daughter loves it on her mt4g my grandfather loves it on his thunderbolt. Being that I'm an "intelligent" guy I prefer an AOSP-ish rom I don't need friend streams or animated weather widgets... Sense is the "call of duty" of roms so easy a cave man can do it......

Good for you for taking the hard road man. Hats off. Lord knows adding user friendly options is always a bad thing right? Wait, no it isn't, its great that you love aosp roms, you know what's so great about aosp, it's open, open means choices. So lets not belittle other peoples preferences just because you feel the need to be leet.
I personally love both, I have a gingerbread sense rom on my nexus one that is much more enjoyable than stock. Dialer is better, contact pictures sync at a high res, theme options, sound profiles, improved lockscreen, better multitasking, better mail client, better sms app.In fact you can thank sense for making android so popular in the first place. Sense sells a lot of phones,

nccu??? new clown crew united!!! Your kidding me right...
Enough with the bashfest.
The beauty of Android is that it can be whatever you want it. While I may not be a fan of Sense, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. Just not my cup of tea.
Anyway, to the OP, I'm sure a port is possible. With the N1, there were a ton of sense port that ran flawlessly on it. One of the biggest hurdles I remember was the kernel as that was key to getting BT/wifi working. Just need a developer willing to spend the time to make this happen.

Stock Android Rom for HTC Sensation 4G

I really, really deeply despise HTC Sense, its worthless, is there a Nexus One/Nexus S style Generic Android Rom for this phone. It has to be 100% stock Android.
So you bought an Sensation (which MAJOR selling point is Sense) for what reason??
Anyway, questions go in Q&A
Yeah? I suppose you also like pink frosted cookies, daises, and cars that look like lunchboxes also known as the Prius. Anyways, nobody asked you to question my intentions and reasoning behind my decision to purchase the sensation, and last I checked the hardware was the selling point shmuck. If you have an answer for me, please answer, if you don't then don't leave a stupid comment like 'EddyOS'
CM7 nightlies will be here soon (hopefully) Meanwhile you can try nosense script and some mixed ROMS (meaning it has some things from Sense and some from AOSP)

Simple question but no simple answer

[Q] ice scream sandwich question

God knows I'm not the smartest of my siblings but..... Is Ice Cream Sandwich basically intended to unify the Android community as a whole? As it should be in my humble opinion.... The way I been reading it, Google is even talking to manufacturers and Carriers to keep everyone "in line" if you would, with their build. So 1+1 does equal 3 right? Or am I reading into it? Just curious.....
I think it would be great if indeed this is so..... Porting a great ROM shouldn't be as difficult right? Or am i still reading into it too much?
Plus, I have a Gtab, well the wife does LOL.... And I get to play with HC and i love that UI and supposedly 2.4 will have a similar UI. Or did I read into that as well? Can you imagine the Sensation with a HC LOOK? SICKWITIT! I am a fan of sense 3.0 BTW, I'm just saying that our devs could crosstalk and tweak the **** out of it even more because everyone would have the same goal, literally, in their sights..... Or did i read into it that much more?
So basically just wondering if anyone has the skinny on this. The EVO 3d has a question but no definite answers so I figured I'd ask for our phone as well. Thanks for being patient with me... I get excited LOL. Good night.

Good Job Sensation Devs

Wow Im trying to find a stable rom for my buddies mt4gs and their roms are all terrible maybe because its a laggards phone having that stupid keyboard and all. I love my Sensation and our developers kick ass !!!!!!
There's not much development for that phone at all.
Thankfully the Sensation is a worldwide device and we have dev's from all over the world making roms for us.
Yes the development on the sensation is great when you go to the development already you can find update every single day down there are you use or droid actually now it's called coin droid and it's updated all the time I love since 4 it's much better than all the other senses once people get a little bit more tweaks going for it it'll be perfect so I also thank the devs good job.

Watch your language and attitude when posting on XDA.
Or suffer the consequences...
Having previously been on the MT4GS before this, I can tell you that the phone doesn't suck whatsoever. In fact, with the physical keyboard I actually prefer it to the Sensation. I do like the big screen I must admit, but the MT4GS can do everything this phone can do (and the camera pummels this one). Yes, there's a lack of support for the phone despite having the same hardware as the Sensation, but don't knock their devs. For being so few, they've accomplished quite a bit.
If you want a ROM without sense, try Virtuous Inquisition. That one's as stable as almost anything here, with some nice OC/UV features that enhance battery life. If you want Sense, Virtuous PrimaDonna or Pyr'O'Ice Sensed (I believe they're now the same thing) work just fine for DD's. There are a few bugs, but that's to be expected with almost every ROM that does not have official support. As for GB ROMS, anything on there works pretty well, but people seem to be very fond of Bulletproof.
It is awesome to have all these ROMs to choose from now, but there are still some very good good (albeit few in number) ones for the Doubleshot.
Hurrah for vorbeth

XDA Sensation Developers Rock!!
I have to say that as a pretty new user here, the level of support from both Developers and also senior members is really fantastic. It really blows away other forums I have been part of previously.
I would also agree with the above. Coming from a Blackberry to my Sensation and Android was a big change for me. All of my answers were to be found for getting the device rooted and running a custom rom in no time.

Thanks for following the rules and using search.
check out the HTC HD2(Leo) section of XDA... i think that is the most dev friendly phone of all time
I'm newly registred to this forum but been looking around XDA since a few months back and never registred (really can't say why) and I must say that the atmosphere is great here on XDA, there is alot of support from devs as well as members of the site and I love it and the devs seems to know their thing. See you around the forums!
EDIT: I must agree with shee-b. All my questions already had answers and I as well got S-OFF and a custom rom running from a completly locked Hboot in no-time thanks to all the great guides and of course with a bit of help from the search function
Bad time to have a sensation, Has anyone else noticed the only consistant roms from developers now are ordroid and vorbeths ones? Haven't seen Baaad for a while and his rom says finished,Leedroid hasn't had an update since the One X. Not to seem rude but they seem to have taken the donations for a new device and buggered off :'(

[Q] Can someone port 4.2, 4.3, or 4.4 when it comes out?

I know other devices have custom ROMs that port OS updates even if they're not officially supported. Can someone do this for this phone? I'm tired of waiting for HTC, and we're already 3 updates behind.
To port from which device?
To our device is not likely to be the new kernel source code.

Is that policy just for htc? Because I saw a lot of devices has no official jb but have custom ones.

I know the Galaxy Nexus is getting a 4.4 ROM, even though it's not officially getting the update. Why doesn't someone do that for our phone?
@deathvoxxxx
we are lucky enough to have small handful of awesome devs that own this phone.
what they develop for us is completely up to them.
ONLY if they decide to post a 'request' thread, is it 'cool' to keep asking questions like when and why and why not?
usually the answer is
Why don't you do it yourself?
and then you say 'sheesh! I was just asking'
and then they get annoyed and lose interest in developing anything else for us, so please, please, please don't ask ridiculously unneeded questions like these. some/most devs find them rude.

So let's ask something unusual.
How complicated is it to go from Android 4.2 to Android 4.4 ? (For HTC, and for a dev? )
And compare to 4.1 to 4.2 transition, how is it ? (easier, harder?)
Is there a big change in the drivers, that require intervention from hardware manufacturer? Or is it possible to re-use the same driver from 4.2 ?
If drivers are the same, how complicated is it to go from Android source code with 4.2 drivers to a ROM ?
I'm not a developper, i don't do code. But identifying the tricky parts and requirements might be a good start. (Let's not talk about Sense for now)
Our SoC is a very common one. So Driver wouldn't be so hard to get?
Maybe HTC will follow 18months support recommendation from Google and grant us with a new update in May 2014 (18 months after nov. 2012)
Our phone was a "transition", to keep people waiting for their HTC One flagship. It also was in a tought financial period for HTC with decreasing sales. So a little consideration would be welcome...
I remember that in France, the press was talking about the ONE. They "used" the buzz in ads, calling it the HTC ONEsv (with big ONE and very little sv so you almost don't see it from the car on in the subway ... ) It is called as part of the One family, but it is a Desire family model...
