Galaxy S2 on/off effect - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399962
This is something very interesting I found. Its like real crt on/off effect (where screen actually shrink). In our crt effect only white color screen gets shrink. Hope somebody will port it

Link broken I think...
EDIT: Sorry, that was my computer hehe
EDIT 2: Do you mean the turn ON? Turning off we already heve it

Ya both turn on & turn off effects...!!! Especially turn on effect is superb.

[REQ][Animation] Gingerbread/CRT style animations

I'm sure everyone has by now seen the cool animation that Gingerbread uses when the screen is turned off. What if the same animation was played in reverse when turning the screen on? Is such a thing even possible? To me it does seem a bit strange that this animation is only played when turning the screen off, because real CRT's used to do the same thing both when turning on and turning off.
If it is possible, I'd love to see it implemented. Further on down the line as an added bonus, I also think it'd be cool to replace the animation for launching or closing an app with a CRT style flicker, similar to what happened when you changed the channel on an old TV.
Edit: Looks like most custom ROMs are already way ahead of me for the screen on animation. Good work!
This is on CM7...
(except its really not as good as you'd think)

LeoGinger v0.8.4 has this implemented for both screen OFF and screen ON animations. Here is the link for ROM if you want to flash it and check it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10518585&postcount=1
Okay, that's cool that CM7 has it. What about other CRT style animations for the transitions? Something similar to the Pip Boy 3000 from Fallout 3 would be awesome.

Optimus 3d notification led idea

Maybe this belongs in the development area but...
The evo3d got a notification led wich i like...what about if we can make the capacitive button led's blink or something when we have a mail and sms...
Maybe more guys have this idea but well....tell me if its possible and a good idea
It is probably possible and I think developers will have a hand on it if they havent yet.
It will be eventually supported.
this idea is awesome. i think it is possible

Glad someone's liking it
This would be a nice to have for sure. If can light up those "buttons" to use for notification, it will be great.
This is already done with O2X, so it is definitely on the way for us
My previous phone was GalaxyS which had no led aswell.
I used a programmed called NoLed on the Galaxy. Installed on Optimus 3d and seems to work fine.

It doesnt support the capacitive button led's.
Sorry i was only suggesting this as a temporary alternative until further developments.
I really like this idea!
But is it possible to expand on it further?
Since there's 4 capacitive buttons on the phone, are we able to make them blink individually?
For example... home button blinks when we have a missed call, menu button blinks when we have a message, back button blinks when we have an email, and etc?
Noled seems to be working fine for me...

Unfortunately not. As the app page states, AMOLED uses no power displaying a fully black pixel so displaying alerts on the screen takes very little power.
Now as the O3D has an old fashioned LCD, it consumes potentially a ton of power just to turn the screen on at all, because it has to light the whole screen just to start. Plus, it uses the MOST power displaying black (least displaying all white), so it would need the opposite behaviour.
[UPDATE]
Ah I see you can make the screen blink, I didn't notice that at first. Might actually be useful then.
i've tested it with the developer of the LG notification app. it seems, that the files which have to be used are'nt writeable. so without root it won't work
perhaps we should send tons of mails to LG, that they make it possible.

Modified 2X/Black touch led notification app
Hi guys,
I've modified Martin Börjesson's app and now it works on ROOTed O3D and I'll upload it soon.
To-do:
1) fading doesn't work
2) change of brightness doesn't work
What will never work
1) separate LEDs - I don't think there's a way to control each of them, only all 4 LEDs

[MOD] Flip to MutE AND NON INCREASING RING TONE [XXKPQ]

Hey guyz here is my new mod for i9003 i have tried very hard for this mod for XXKPQ
Flip to Mute :
When you are receving a call, you could simply MUTE the call Ringtone by flipping the phone with the screen facing the table surface
NON INCREASING RINGTONE :
Get rid of the increasing ring when someone calls you. Most samsung phones had a "feature" where when you receive a call, the ringtone will gradually fade in to the volume that you have set. This mod will get rid of that annoying fade in and allow your ringtone to play at the volume YOU set it to!
INSTRUCTIONS :
-YOUR PHONE MUST BE ROOTED AND DEODEXED
- TO INSTALL JUST DOWNLOAD THE FILE AND PUT IT IN THE SD
- THEN USE ROOT EXPLORER AND REPLACE THE PHONE.APK IN SYSTEM/APP
DOWNLOAD : PHONE MOD

Awesome.work Man!
Working perfectly?
the one thing that would make this app perfect is the choice to use a position other than "flipped", but the original (?) creator, raidx, ignored my request in his thread. would it be possible to implement this?

i will try only but i cant say that it will work and i have use the source code provided by dhiru

that's cool, as long as it's attempted. I'm not too good at modifying/adding any programming language, but when I had opened it before, I had seen the activation orientation was "down". I assumed that means it could also be switched to "left side down" or "right side down", but adding additional orientations could be more difficult, as you said, than just changing the current activation orientation. could "down" be changed to just one different orientation and tested as a variation? I think "right side down" would be the one I'm looking for (power button side facing the ground, volume buttons facing the sky)
Thx dude, nice work. working fine but now my caller id photos have grown big with faded images (loosing resolution). tried even with higher resolution photos, but still...
any help?

may be greater call image solution. This one have very low quality call image.
Once again, thanks for useful MOD
better small image with normal quality as perfect image that will be loading 10 minutes or longer ;D
now my question, it takes some time on call that screen wakes up (uc-kernel, touchscreen smoother mod) , can you make it a bit smaller with optimized reaction? maybe you can use Smush.it™ to get quick loading on lowest quality lost
Thanks Man!
Superb , just superb! Got it working after a couple of tries...
But i got to agree with others here,.. is it possible to make it more beautiful
hmm its very hard to edit again because i am not having my i9003 with me so i cant test but i am still making roms and themes for this phone

Lock Screen Shows Some Of My Desktop In Portrait Only

Can someone tell me why this happens? Or how I can fix this.
Thanks,
I appear to have the same issue! I guess its not as bad in my sense since I keep my icons on the bottom row... but still it looks a bit ridiculous.
(had to reupload screenshot, personal info was on lock screen)

[Q] Livesuit Image For Stealth Pro 9.7C

Hi. Just wondering if anyone out there would happen to have a .img image of the firmware for the trio stealth pro 9.7c. I.ve looked everywhere and can only come up with images that install through CWM recovery. My tablet will not boot into recovery as I flashed a rom that I thought would work, but now no video. Not an emergency, but if someone has it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I used a livesuit image that was supposedly for the 9.7 on my 9.7c and everything works flawlessly. Use at your own risk. can't post links. pm me if you want it
Try this.
A member called hammerite said in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52298998 that the firmware for Wintouch Q91 works with this tablet. Specifically the file name is Q91A30321.img. Google it. I'm just downloading it right now and hope to fix a friend's tablet with it..
Sorry to say that file didn't work for me.
Another works, kinda

I was grasping at straws and downloaded the Q95A306043G file, and everything works, but you need to put it to english, and the colors are off, kinda like low res kinda look, but it's a good start if someone can fix the res of the screen :fingers-crossed:
A possible work around to get the 9.7c up and running

Yeah didn't work for me either. But I did find a bit of a work-around to have a functioning tablet again. A bit of a pain in the butt way to go about it, yet it is usable. If anyone wants to give it a try so you can at least use the thing, I'll try to explain it.....here it goes.......
Things needed:
1. LiveSuit or PhoenixSuit (I used PhoenixSuit)
2. Not necessary, but useful later, Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v32.zip
3. F918-WCDMA-20130423.1.1.11-a106-dou0308.img (copy and paste this into google, you will see a link from a site called pan.baidu.com on the first search page. Turned up about the third search down during my search. It is in Chinese, but the download link to click will have the file size, (310.16mb) click it and another box will appear, click the white box on the right, then yet another box will appear, click the blue box on the left this time, then it will give you the download.) This image is for a ly-f918 tablet, but mostly functional on 9.7c
Now we can start flashing.......
1. Using either LiveSuit or PhoenixSuit, flash the image that you downloaded to the tablet.
2. After the flash, you will notice that the screen colors are messed up and screen rotation is 180 degrees off. For the rotation, I just turned off auto rotate.
We will get to the color issue in a few....The screen will be barely legible at this point, but if you squint just right, you can read it
3. Run Bin4ry to gain root
4. For the screen color issue, I signed into google, went to the play store and downloaded and app called Screen Adjuster Free, ( yes this rom has play store built in) Set the Screen Adjuster to on (box at the top of the app) and set the system brightness to 23%. The screen should now be legible.
Things that are NOT working:
As mentioned, auto rotate is off 180 degrees
Rear camera causes the tablet to shut down
Volume up button lowers the volume, volume down and back buttons do nothing. There are volume up/down icons on the notification bar though
Color still off in the notification bar
I know it seems half-assed, but I DO at least have a working tablet again!!
I did find another rom that touch, wifi and camera do not work, but the screen colors are right:
sun4i_crane_v1.5_T05A_mc32x0_20121012-tm2.img
Maybe if someone knows how to open the images to play around with them, the display driver from the sun4i rom can be put into the F918 rom so the color is right. And possibly fix the screen rotation issue. Then the only things to worry about are the hard buttons and rear camera at that point.
Sorry if this seems lame, but like I said, My Stealth Pro 9.7c is functional again ( to some degree any way ) and if you were in the same boat as I was.....holding a tablet that didn't work at all.......it's better than nothing.
as always, try at your own risk. Let me know if anyone has trouble with this method or improvements. Thanks!

Just noticed you posted this as I was writing my post Does auto rotate work right? and do the hard buttons fuction correctly? and rear camera work? If it does you're a step closer than I was. maybe if someone takes THAT rom and the second one I posted and made a flashable image, we would have a completely working rom!!

Ya it's kinda the same as the one you were using, auto rotate is off 180 degrees, but no auto rotate fixes that been, testing it for awhile and found that utube, and netflix auto turns it upside down, and I have to use that other program to get the colors right, camara worked for a bit then it stopped working, but the play store worked just fine, sorry I've been gone, just busy at work =( volume up doesn't work but volume down does
Downloaded from where.the site won't let me download it
