[Q] Please help me to recover my desire s! - HTC Desire S

Hi,
My girlfriend was updating her desire s by updating over wifi, after about 15 minutes it stucked. i had to restart it but unfortunately i couldn't boot. teher is just a phone with exclamation mark on the screen. how can i recover it? please help me asap...

when you see the mark...try holding vol up and down together and power at the same time... it should give you a menu with the option of reboot, try this for starters and see if t will boot.... or try power down at the same time as power and see if you get the fastboot menu where you can storage... try these first buddy

i was in recovery by doing what you said. i firstly tried to reboot by selecting but it didn't work. after that, i selected "apply update from sd" but i think there is no update file in sd, so i couldn't update. lastly, i wiped cache and data-cache but they didn't work either in my opinion, my desire s have to visit warranty service for a few days

I sent it to warranty and they decided to change mainboard. I hope i won't wait weeks for it...

please help! 3.2 update problem

i updated and now it wont fully boot up. i get to the screen where the honeycomb is going up and down and it just stays there. im having trouble getting it into recovery from adb so if anyone knows what to do please save me.
How long are you waiting because the first time mine booted in 3.2 it took about 10 mins.
Long enough for the xoom to die. I just want to be able to boot into recovery but when I try to from fastboot it doesn't do anything. I hope it's not bricked and there's something that can be done.

Do you have CWM installed? If so, boot the Xoom and at the Moto logo wait about 2-3 secs then press the Vol Down button. This will give you the option for recovery, press Vol Up to get in.
i do have it installed but it wont let me get into it through fastboot or those instructions.
do you think this is bricked?
Hmm. I'd keep resetting it (hold power and Vol Up) and trying to get into CWM. I can't see why this wouldn't work. To reiterate, you want to press vol down after about 2 secs of the Moto dual core image.
awesome, i didnt realize i had to press it down. i kept holding it and getting into fastboot. thanks for the help guys!
Glad to help

[Q] I'm having a problem getting into Recovery mode

Hey guys,
I wondering if anyone could help me out?
My problem is that my phone isn't allowing me to start into Recovery mode. I take out the battery and re-insert it, then hold the Volume down + Power button, but it just normally boots the phone. What's frustrating me is that the first couple times I attempted it, it worked, and now all of a sudden it doesn't. I've had other Android phones, and I've never had a problem like this. So, any help would be grealy appreciated. Thanks!
Can you get in recovery from ROM manager?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I dont know if the same thing that happened to you, but but I was having the same issue. I'm used to my G1 just barely holding down home and power, with the Sensation I had to hold down vol and power for like 15 secs.

Go into Settings -> Power and disable the Fastboot option. That is what is preventing you from booting into Recovery. You also will want to enable ADB Debugging under Settings -> Applications -> Development
You could also try the other way by going into the bootloader then into the recovery.
Whilst the phone is on, reboot the phone. Once the screen turns off, hold the volume down button for a while until the bootloader screen pops up. Select the option to load recovery. I've been doing it this way.
Now that I think about it, maybe there's a way to skip straight to recovery instead of bootloader =\
It worked! Thank you guys for your help!
Damn, I used to know all this stuff, too. I didn't think it's been that long since I've tried to mess with any Android device. Errr
But anyways, thanks, again!
@ op, glad ppl helped u bt u should prolly hit 'em thanks buttons when u get help

device reboots to recover please help

i just onstalled megatron rom and my devices boots up to recovery mod with no way out of it
i really dont want to wipe
is there a way to force the device to boot normal?
I had the same issue as you only a couple of days ago. I had to do a full reboot to my phone unfortunately.

what do you mean by full reboot?
reboot the device another time, when it starts again hold down the power button till it powers of
Now do as you normal do and hold down volume - and power button till you see white letters about 2 sentences written. let go of the buttons and do nothing and it will cold start linux.
The problem you have could be coming that you rebooting in recovery from rom. Some clockworkmods don't like that.

Did you install CWM from ROM Manager? If you did you installed a "bad" version.
Go here for the fix, it has nothing to do with Megatron ROM.

Yes, i booted into the bootloader and hit reboot, but since then i cant enter again the bootloader which is why i started this thread..
I press these buttons the right way ..i'e tryied all the combinations with battery re-insert each time but nothing...
Leave battery out for some time (10 min.), then while holding vol- pres power key, DO NOT release vol- it should get in the bootloader, then simply just flash some rom from recovery. The important thing is to leave it 10 minutes first.
Or try something else, while the phone is off, insert the usb in it, with me it's turning on, it's cwm recovery bug, but a good one .
not able to acces recovery mode
i am using htc explorer with jaggy rom 3.after few months when i tried to go in recovery mode my phone reboots.i tried re flashing CWM recovery.it says successful but still i am not able to access??????????
Hey,
Are you able to go to bootloader? If yes don't worry you will have to reflash the recovery. Download twrp or yannous recovery. And flash it,

I'm not sure at what condition is your phone right now. But the most common process I'm telling you is,
Take out your battery. Reinsert.
Hold down power button and volume down button all together until you get your screen emits light. This will take you to the fastboot menu. There select Recovery mode(no matter which recovery you're using). Like if you're usin ClockworkMod Recovery. In the menu, select wipe data/factory reset. Then go to mounts and format option. Mount /cache, /data, /system, /sd-ext(in case you're having a second partition). Remember NOT to mount sd-card. Right from the same menu, format boot, cache, system, data, sd-ext. This time again remember NOT to format sd-card otherwise you'll loose all your data. Now go back to main menu and select advanced option. There select wipe dalvik-cache to not to face low memory problems. Now go back. Select install zip from sd-card. choose zip from sd-card(choose the zip folder of a custom ROM). Install the package. Wait. After completion, reboot or you may have wipe data/factory reset before rebooting. These are the most common steps that works in almost every custom ROM. You can also follow the particular steps (if given) from anywhere you downloaded it. Wait for 2-5 or more minutes at the first boot as it take more time. The process may appears complicated but you'll find it easy when you'll do it.
Hope this thing will sort out your problem. Please hit 'Thanks' if I helped you or atleast do it for humanity that I typed that much for you.

I think he is having key combination problem.
@ S.alwaz
He should press volume down key first and then keeping the vol down key pressed, press the power as well. Now keep pressed both until bootloader appears. Enter recovery and follow the post above for flashing New ROM.
Pressing power first and then volume down key doesn't work. I checked here.

Does anyone know if the battery is charging even if the screen doesnt show anything (the charging animation) ? I m saying cause it might not boot at all due to a discharged battery...(although the battery was 50% charged when it broke down)
I've tried booting it connected to a usb but still nothing.

Hey , this was a problem for me when my pico went to recovery on connecting charger when phone was switched off..
then i flashed the yannou90's recovery and now it charges with the animation while its off...
not going into recovery when charger is connected...
And @cpgr
try this if it works...
1.)connect your phone to ac charger and leave for 30 minutes
2.)remove the charger and press the key combination as- press the volume down key and keep it pressed...now press the power key and keep both the keys pressed till the screen turns on... then leave the power key first and then the volume down key...
3.)now go to the recovery... [ is it working for you...??]....{ALSO, i recommend yannou90's cwm based recovery, you should try that as well if you already don't have it... }
4.)then wipe data/factory reset , wipe cache and install any Custom rom you like...
....
...
.
After this all.... give a detailed reply on whats not working for you...in the above steps...
i think these should work out great....
best of luck

[SOLVED] [Q] Help needed! HTC Sensation chrashed after root

Solved by flashing new stock HTC ROM!, but thanks for the quick replies!
Original message:
I NEED HELP!
My HTC Sensation chrashed after i tried to root it (i didn't have mutch luck with it) and i can't boot it up normally, and the factory reset in the VolumeUp+Power menu doesn't do anything.
I don't care if my phone is wiped, i only want it to work again!
I much appreciate it if someone could help.
The problem:
when i try to boot it up normally it show the HTC logo, and stays like that forever... i can't do anything.
when i try to do a factory reset in the bootloader menu (VolumeUp+Power) it gives the clockworkMod recovery menu (i installed it) but when i do a factory reset from there it says "Formatting /data" and also other stuff but then gives a error saying: "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2"
it says "Data wipe complete." and it exits into the menu, and nothing chanced...
the problem is that if i reboot from there the HTC logo comes up and stays there...
i think i corrupted android, but is there any way to get it back?
it is a HTC Sensation, it was running android 4.0.2, all the other things i don't know because i can't look at them.
if you need more information ask me!
