After updating to ICS firmware my phones bootloader wont let me downgrade to h-Boot1.17 from 1.2 and everytime i get a "MODEL INCORRECT" and even when I try to reflash ICS firmware still says "INCORRECT".....any help?
You need to complete the super cid step in the android dev section guide. That then allows you to flash any ruu.

I was trying to update to ICS ARHD (6.5.0) by flashing the firmware (3.32.401...) but somewhere along the way that went wrong because now no ROM I flash starts up. Is there a way I can find out my CID and MID number without starting up the phone so I can flash a working PG58IMG. I keep getting a "CID fail" error.

If you got the cid fail message when you were in the process of updating 3.32, then you should still be running your old firmware. Try reverting to 1.17, flash a GB rom and work from there. I know that supercid is not compulsory, but it really does make flashing any new firmware hassle free.

Hello, I just tried to install hd android revolution 6.6.4, got my phone rooted s-off and all that. I didnt update firmware first (which I should have)and i kept gettiing a bootloop. So I tried wiping everything and then updating firmware to no avail, said cid failed. Which that is also my fault because I neglected to do cid prior to any on these other things. So now I cannot update firmware, I cannont install any rom and Im stuck in bootloop no matter what i do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you are SOFF
so just change the damn cid to supercid
first remove the PG*** file from SDCARD(use a card reader) otherwise you cant get into bootloader properly
i assume you have adb/fastboot setup ...if you dont then follow this guide to set it up
step to supercid
1.keep your phone in fastboot mode and connect it to pc (phone reads fastboot usb)
2.type this command
fastboot oem writecid 11111111 (it should be eight ones)
thats all now you are supercid...
now flash the fw again ..you wont get any error and then flash the rom via recovery again
Thanks man, needed it laid out to me like that. I appreciate it, now to install hd rev
My HTC Sensation 4G is S-ON and my firmware version is presently 3.32.401.5. My mobile is not super-cid and my CID is HTC_001 and MID is PG 5813000. I am not SUPERCID. I am presently running Viper-s rom and intend to upgrade my firmware to 3.33.
I am sure 3.33.401.6 is the version i should install. Since i am unable to install PGIMG file through bootloader, Dark-Forest told me to use official RUU.
I downloaded RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.6_Radio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_266171_signed.exe
and when i tried to install it i got error 155 WRONG IMAGE ERROR.
Error Description says "ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR
One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again."
I dont know what to do.
Should i install official 3.32 RUU and then install 3.33 RUU ?
Please help me.
i am thankful to the community for excellent work and great roms:good:
i HAVE found a guideline http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425&highlight=install+3+33+ruu
Should i follow the steps ?
3.1 Relocking the bootloader
3.2 Using RUU to restore partitions
3.3 Turning S On after RUU flash

Tried htcdev.com unlock method and it says some sort of error.
Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won't work.

Is there anyway to get rooted again ?
wait a sec ..you are soff right ? then why are you doing htc-dev unlock ?
you should not do htc-dev unlock over soff thats a bad move ...you can flash juopunutbear hboot aka eng-hboot ...check the kgs aio tool in sensation development stickies there is an option to flash eng-hboot use that ..
if you just want to root your phone ..then check my one click root tool from my soff guide ....link in my signature
unlocked using htcdev file
Sorry to dig this thread up, but why would you ask a question if you disregard the answer? People like this should be banned of posting new threads.
thanks
i already find million post and video to settle white screen after boot... finally i try to relock and install RUU... thank a lot....

So i am stuck with a locked bootloader with s-on and unable to install any ruu. Every time i tried to restore my phone with a ruu it would give me a 132 signature error. Is my phone truly bricked or is there a way to restore it. I also tried the PG88IMG.zip on the root of a goldcard but it wouldn't work. It would check the PG88IMG and then continue with going into the bootloader.
U need to find the exact ruu for ur phone, region, brand etc. Ur goldcard obviously wasnt made right or didnt work (sometimes happens) so either find exact ruu or try a dif sdcard to make a goldcard.
i tried another goldcard and it still gave me a 132 signature error. I don't think it's a goldcard error since if it was it would be a signature verification error if there was no goldcard on the phone. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to recover my phone if the only thing i have access to is hboot with s-on, locked, and fastboot.

could just be a bad download. what ruu are ya trying to flash?
I was trying to install the ics update ruu and i'm pretty sure it's the only ruu that works now since my phone is recognized as being on the same version as the ics update. i cannot downgrade since downgrading requires adb and i don't have access to that.

Hi all!
I bought S4 phone, but i have problem with it.
it has very old firmware -
Android 4.0.4, but main issue is hboot - version 1.14.0002, radio 1.06es.50.02.31
i can't make s-off, i can't even flash RUU - my RUU is [email protected]#p://androidruu.com/getdownload.php?file=Ville/RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4.exe but if i try to flash it, i see message "invalid signature".
I can flash only my native RUU - [email protected]$p://androidruu.com/getdownload.php?file=Ville/RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe
i can only get root with kingo, but s-off is a problem - moonshine fails to do it (10 attempts then message "don't drink and shine" and bricked phone. Recovering possible only flasing native RUU
Please help me, i bought S4 phone only for custom ROM's but now i must use very old stock, flashing official update is impossible.
OTA is available, but when downloading finishes, i see message "archive is damaged". I tried to do this 3 timesm but it fails.

I'm not sure for why you're using kingo root. You only need to flash SuperSU via TWRP for rooting this device. And for unlocking the bootloader (so that TWRP can get flashed) you only need to register on HTCdev. There's no need for methods like kingo since you need an unlocked bootloader for most S-OFF methods, anyway.
Moonshine is only meant to be used with the T-Mobile version of the One S (S4)/"Ville". According to the RUU you are able to flash, you own the unbranded European version.
For S-OFF you need to use either Facepalm, Rumrunner or Sunshine. Firewater isn't supported anymore and all servers are down so that method isn't an option, anymore.
(Sidenote: All S-OFF methods that I mentioned in this post got created by the same dev(s) and all are known to work with the One S.)
