[TUT][Script]v6 Supercharger and Kick Ass Kernelizer script WORKS - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello. The supercharger script by zep worked great on my galaxy ace. Now, has anyone been able to use it with the tab+? I think it would be a huge help to remove kauncher redraws and in improving the battery life. Do you guys think it would work on our tab? Our brothers from the gtab 10.1 were able to use it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256796&page=24

EDIT. 12/29/2011
Okay. Since no one bothered to reply, i took the risk and applied the script. To cut to the chase, IT WORKS. There are no launcher redraws and my tab sure feels a lot smoother. I also have 400 used RAM instead of 600 after a restart. Not to mention, i now have 6037 AnTuTu benchmark score as opposed to the 5700 that i got before supercharging.

EDIT. 02/02/12
(I updated the versions to their latest in accordance with zepp's latest released scripts. supercharger 5.2 and KAK 3.1. The steps to be followed are still the same.)
If anyone wants to try, here are the steps that i followed.
BUT first things first.
CREDIT GOES TO zeppelinrox FOR HIS GREAT WORK ON THIS SCRIPT.
I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THANK mroneeyedboh FOR THE STEPS HE PROVIDED OVER THE GTAB 10.1 FORUMS.

So let's cut to the chase!
DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING.

Zepp's original post with the log changes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
Save the supercharger script anywhere on your storage
Run Script Manager and press Browse as Root (the one under Install). When the SU dialog appears press allow.
While on Script Manager, browse to where you save the supercharger script click it
A new window would appear. Press the "Su" icon under the Run button at the upper left hand corner. Press Run.
A lot of codes would appear. Some sort of system check bla bla bla. Just a little patience...
"Press Return Key... and Come Get Some!!" would appear. DON'T PRESS THE RETURN KEY. Press anywhere and press any key and then press enter.
You would then see a lot of options 1-31. Please enter number 9.
It would now run the setting we chose. Like lowmemkiller values, OOM groupings, Kernel/Mem Tweaks, etc..
If an option to not use Build.prop appears, cause it might cause boot loops, then allow the creation of local.prop (i think. i can't remember). Just follow your heart. haha
Press the back soft key. "Script is running. What do you want?" Choose Kill.
Since we're all using stock ROMs (for the moment), press the back soft key until you reach the ROOT directory. Then open the Data folder and click on the 99Supercharger.sh
Then under the Run button, press the icon for Su and Boot. This would automate the supercharger script upon boot. Then press run and then kill the script.
Run the first script again (yup the one from Step 1). and now, choose option number 30. It would now super clean the system and restart.
DONE! Feel the difference!
If I missed anything, please inform me.
You could also install the Kick Ass Kernel Tweaks (KAK) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021. Get the update 3 RC3.1
KAK Direct Download http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=877590&d=1327834355
IMPORTANT!!!!! Just follow the steps from above and be sure not to apply the IO Tweak as it is very unstable and might cause boot loop
Then using step number 11, navigate to 98KickAssKernelizer.sh and make it run upon boot.
Reboot your device and DONE!
Based on MY observations, here are the changes that I noticed.
Completely no launcer redraws (wherein the widgets disappear and appear. it's like refreshing in windows), I'm using the default Touchwiz UX.
There is no delay with the Task Switcher. (the third soft key) Before applying the script, I had like 1-1.5 second delay with it. Now it only has 0.5 or so.
The RAM usage is stable at 530-570. Compared to 660 before supercharging
The best part about this script is that multi-tasking has been easier. Jumping from one app to another is now a breeze. Applications start faster than before.
The thing is, our tablet is already blessed with great hardware which is why it is already fast and smooth to begin with. BUT, there is always room for improvements. FACT.

That's impressive!
I have the P6210. Are you using the P6200 with the 3g?
Dan

Interesting find. Would you mind sharing the installation process. From the original post seems quite easy, but on the 10.1 tread it looks way more complicated.

okay. i'll update it in a while.

just tried it, enabling the 99supercharger.sh and 98kickasskernel.sh at boot threw me into a boot loop. it said to make sure to enable at boot, so i did. will give it another try or just manually add custom lines to build.prop ..

really? I wonder why. I did not encounter any boot loop. Could you check my steps that i just posted and compare it with the steps that you did?
Also, what busybox version did you use?
I think it's with the KAK Tweak. Maybe you applied the IO scheduler?
as quoted from zeppelinrox
Updated August 1: Added Kick Ass Kernel Tweak Installer but without io scheduler tweaks. Use this new script if you try the regular Kick Ass Kernel Tweak Installer and get a boot loop! (My apologies to those that got the boot loops )

And you think that I would wait for tutorial or tester to try it out !?!?!
OK, I did the following :
1) downloaded the script and put it in the sd card ( not external sd ) root
2) downloaded and installed script manager
3) run the SM and selected the script
4) selected run as root and hit the RUN
5) selected 1 as scrolling speed
6) selected 9 ( MegaRam 2 )
7) selected 17 = Exit
8) broswed back to ../data and selected the 99supercharger.sh file
9) selected the run as root and run at boot option
10) Save and Exit the SM
11) Rebooted
All fine ( I mean no bootloop ) but to be quite honest NOTHING changed in terms of performance. I double checked that the script was run at boot and it did, since the values have been changed.
But the benchmarks are the same and the tab seems lagging as usual.
Also the amount of free RAM have not changed from previous stock configuration.
I fear that the main problem is GoLauncher, that seems to have slowed down the tab even more after the last update.

Hmmm.. Maybe it's because we have different applications installed, settings, etc. With my experience, there are some very noticeable changes.
Completely no launcer redraws (wherein the widgets disappear and appear. it's like refreshing in windows), I'm using the default Touchwiz UX.

The best part about this script is that multi-tasking has been easier. Jumping from one app to another is now a breeze. Applications start faster than before.

I think it may hav had to do with changing the I/O tweaks from local.prop to build.prop, it said it was dangerous. after reboot about 20 sec or so SuperUser toast says script manager was granted root permissions, meaning the 98/99.sh scripts were loaded. I didnt run the v6script at boot. after about the 3rd reboot, I had time to go into app drawer and quickly drag uninstall and it stopped constant reboot.

tried the instructions in the OP and i can confirm this works on my P6200 and solved a lot of the lag I had.

Hmm, I had originally used the V8 version . I have uncharged, wiped the cache and recharged it with RC4 9V . But still the same. I do not see any difference from the original performances and the Antutu Benchmark gives pretty much the same results as before. I was hoping my tab would fly out of my hands after this hack ......... but not really
Curious to read about others, it looks like we have only 3 brave souls so far

Haha yeah. And I am hoping that there would be more brave souls in the Development Section.
What score did you get in the Antutu Benchmark?

5648/5804/5727 three consecutive tests.
uncharged everything and got back to stock config : 5654/5841/5708
After uncharging I still got left a 1000HP Super-(6,12,200,220,240,275).sh file in ../data
P_

Bump.
No more testers?
P_

I am giving it another shot .
The only noticeable difference is that the amount of available RAM is always around 300 mb. BUT this also tend to decrease ( sometimes to 100 ) with extended use. With stock configuration I'd have 100/250 available, with the system bumping it up to about 300 when it was going lower than 100.
As for the quick access button, it's definitely snappier when you turn the device on, but it goes back to about 1 sec after a while.

I have a P6200 and applied the script, look smooth then before applied the script. Thanks for the instruction

Hey just wondering if anyone knows how to remove this script..Thanks!

It has an option to unsupercharge. It's listed in the menu with the different options of supercharging etc.

I'm currently suggesting that people do NOT use this script.
There are bugs in the GT-P62x0 kernel(s) that can (and do) cause kernel panics. Under normal circumstances, those panics would cause your tablet to simply reboot.
However, this "supercharger" script overrides a kernel parameter and prevents the kernel from rebooting on a panic, instead forcing it into an infinite loop. Instead of the bug rebooting your tablet, it causes your tablet to be frozen (if the screen is off, it appears to be a so-called sleep of death.)
To make matters worse, if this situation occurs when the tablet is running on battery power (not plugged in), then the infinite loop will completely deplete your tablet's battery (which can harm it.)
Take care
Gary

I have used supercharger on my phone without issue but after
reading what Gary discovered, I won't be using it again.
Thanks Gary

Collin_ph Battery Tweak RC1 for Cyanogen / Darch Froyo roms (possibly others)

UPDATE 8/24! Please go to the site and download the latest version RC1b which corrects 2 small bugs people have reported. It now sets the proper permissions on batt-diag so it runs, and it changes the way the program tries to SU so that you can choose to not have the program attempt to run SU if your rom has trouble running su from terminal;
---Original Below---
I decided to create a new forum for the latest battery tweak as so much has changed since the initial versions.
To get things started, I'll just say that collin_ph battery tweak is a collection of scripts designed to make the hero (for now) last longer on battery, run faster, and run better. The tweak includes CPU management, Battery Management, Disk Performance Boost, Scheduler Boost, LED Fix, Audio Quality boost and other features to improve the usability of your Hero.
Instructions: Go to http://www.primoweb.com/froyo to download the latest version and get the documentation.
Boot into recovery and flash the zip file.
After reboot, you may run batt-cfg from shell or terminal (Note, that the scripts will all request root access, so there's no longer a need to su before running them).
to run batt-cfg
go to terminal in the phone or use adb shell from your PC
once there, type
batt-cfg
It will pull up a menu of choices. For further info, see http://www.primoweb.com/froyo
You can load a 691 mhz default (most Cyanogen kernels now only support up to 691 mhz anyway), or, if you have an uncapped kernel, you can choose a 768 mhz setting. Note: Both settings actually run at 691 when on battery and only run higher when plugged in.
The basics of how the battery is extended is that this tweak causes your phone to scale down (to lower frequencies) faster and to scale up slower. In stock configuration, the cpu scales up when only under 70% load -- while part of this tweak causes it not to scale until it's at 95% load, avoiding unnecessary scaling and battery drain. A second (and arguably more important) feature, is that as the battery drains, it lowers the maxumum CPU frequency. So when you have 1% battery left, you may be running at 468mhz instead of 691. Another plus is that the phone runs in a "higher performance" mode while charging via AC, and another mode to make sure the phone is actually charging when connected bia USB, in addition to the settings mentioned above when the phone is on battery. The best part is that almost every parameter in the system is adjustable through terminal or adb shell using a program called batt-cfg -- just run it and you'll be presented with a menu of options.
I'm constantly updating the documentation, so please check back often as I'll update this thread until there's a final 3.0 version. We're already working on a 4.0 which will be available on the market. We'll post more info there as it happens at www.tweaktool.com
COMPATIBILITY NOTES:
This tweak only works with clockable kernels. A lot of ROMS have reclockable or overclockable kernels which should work. I recommend Froyo roms, but I have heard of the tweak running with 2.1 releases. The main incompatibility seems to be with the service startup-- on some roms, the service doesn't automatically start up.
to verify if your rom is compatible and that the tweak is working, reboot.
Then go to terminal or adb shell and type:
pidof batt.sh
if it returns a number, then the service is running. If not, you'll have to start it manually every time the phone reboots by going to terminal or adb shell and typing
batt-cfg
then choose the option to save and exit. This will manually start or restart the service. Note: if your rom does not start the service automatically, you'll have to do the above batt-cfg procedure after EVERY boot or battery tweak will not run.
If you're a ROM developer, you'll can probably make your ROM compatible by adjusting your rom (ramdisk) to call (import) /system/etc/init.local.rc from init.rc -- assuming your ROM has an overclockable kernel like fresh, darch, or others.
ROMS based on unclockable kernels like Damage Control, won't work without a kernel upgrade and may still not start the service automatically upon reboot.
Thanks to Decad3nce for testing and improving several parts of the battery tweak.
So to flash this tweak and have it working on the latest Froyo nightly, do we need to flash overclockfix.zip ??
I had to flash this fix almost with ever nightly, coz the frequency list would not show up when i need to customize tweak settings.
I was reading the documentation and saw the CFS tweaks are disabled by default. Will this correct the GPS issue that was on beta 10?
Froyo Hero to the rescue
Thank you for all your work on this, got 12 hrs on 50% today with beta 10 and Decad3nse #8, 768 pre-set, most time I've ever gotten outa my Hero. Flashed your RC1 (with Darch's RC1) about 45mn ago and used custom settings to jack-up the max to 768 across the board, min.s and intervals stock. Thank you for explaining the 768 pre-set is really 691! Gonna sit on what I've got for a day and then try w/ Darch's "fix" kernel. Hope I can keep the max on batt @ 768 'cause it seems to make my Hero more responsive/less laggy.
I was not able to use the batt-diag in adb shell. I'll report back tomorrow how the tests go.
What is the procedure for installing this if you're currently running Beta 10? Do you have to wipe, reflash, etc or can you just flash the update and reconfigure in adb?
it made my hero laggy!!!

hmm.. what rom are you running? It sounds like the code I've got in to detect root (and ask for it if necessary) is causing an issue with what you're running. All it does is a whoami to see if you are logged in as root, if not, it su's and relaunches itself.
I'm getting the same root problem with 8/22 nightly.

I'm using my red dawn rom with a modded ramdisk to allow for the battery tweak. The beta 10 worked and even the rc1 asked for su and I said allow the the whoami just kept going and going. I uninstalled via ur instructions on ur site and flashed again and same results
RC1 kept crashing my phone. Right after saving settings it would freeze them hard reset and get stuck at the htc screen. I've reverted back to beta 10. The only problem I've ever had with beta 10 is I would have random hard resets when charging. I really can't even pin point it on this tweak but its the only thing that I could think that would do it.

CFS Tweaks and Decad3nce Kernel
I understand from reading the Kernel info, that the CFS on this tweak needs to be disabled first....did you make CFS tweaks on by default? Arent we supposed to flash the kernel first, then disable cfs tweaks and reboot? Im confused as to the order in which things are flashed. WIPE, ROM, GSHITZ, BLACKMOD, KERNEL#7, COLLINS RC1. Then go to term EMU and disable CFS, then save then go back into batt-cfg and choose option 1 768 and save and exit then reboot. Woudl that be correct?

[ROM] Huawei U8150 LEANdroidMOD 6 final.

Hi,
I have been in contact with Bertans through his LEANdroid thread and through private message and we have been working on a bit of a mod for LEANdroid. Basically people want OC/UC and the rest of the goodness from other roms.
It is a mod of LEANdroid 11.10.2 and has a few extra bits over and above that rom. Now has a kernel custom compiled by me from aorth's kernel source.
Includes:
LEANdroidMOD_6
-2.2.2 Thailand rom base, newer and has the mystical .2 instead of .1!
-NOMA kernel from before
-Custom Ubuntu and Jura fonts because they look better than the ugly android ones
-Not compatible with previous 2.2.1 releases (up to LDM 5)
-This is for testing, not sure if it is compelling enough as an upgrade over LDM5 as I am going to include fonts in LDM 5 too.
-Still has old market, but it will auto update, may update it in a future release.
-Has XDA anti malware patch set up in installer.
LEANdroidMOD_5
-Custom kernel based of NOMA source
-Very custom smartass cpu profile setup, seems fast and battery efficient
-24/12/12, now has Ubuntu and Jura fonts and XDA anti malware patch in installer
-Otherwise similar to before
Previous
-Android 2.2.1+ LEANdroid 11.10.2+
-OC/UC 30mhz to 691mhz. Defaults to 30mhz and 600mhz- Fusion Kernel.
-Smartass and interactive governers. Default is ondemand.
-164MB free space.
-Some custom sounds.
-Fusion kernel 122mhz and 600mhz by default.
-Busybox
-NOfrills cpu control installed by default.
-Tweaked memory management
Everything that worked on LEANdroid should still work up to LDM 5 but it has a more spicy kernel and a few more tweaks. Please backup first as I cant be responsible if it doesn't work or you lose stuff. As these builds are just LEANdroid with a different kernel and a tweak or two, you should be able to get away with just flashing it over your existing LEANdroid install and just wipe cache and dalvic cache.

Looks Good!
Great job - I'm excited - will try tomorrow. What keyboard and launcher is this running?
I will try it (I am excited about it).
Still dun understand why everyone say about abd driver in install procedure when all is done on phone and phone sdcard.
Is running standard android keyboard and launcher pro just like LEANdroid.
Think the adb part is just to get clockwork mod on there. You can also use rom manager if you want, although that seemed to be playing up last time I installed it. if you play a bit more you can also use fastboot, but I have not tried that yet. Im still running CWM 3 installed ages ago using rom manager.
Any idea how to get extended "Phone options" when i press power button.
Like reboot, etc not just the 3: Silent, Airplane, Power Off ??
Thx.
It is something to do with custom frameworks. Have not explored that much as yet. Trying to get the kernel good and fast for a start and then can look at custom looks for later.
Hangs at Android logo
I had just finished flashing LeanDroid when I noticed your (what I like to call) "LeanDroid on Steroids" (on Steroids due to being overclocked). I had been thinking if I were to right a ROM, this would be it...so...I was jazzed. I spent all day trying things over and over and can't get it installed. It just hangs at the "Android" screen. I had to install something so went back to regular LeanDroid and installed it again with no problems. I did everything you suggested including the wipe and the new CWM to no avail. Did anybody else get it installed?
Oh, ok... interesting. will have to do a wipe and flash and see what is going on at some stage. Have been developing it as I go on my phone, so possibly it works as I have been flashing kernels and such over existing builds.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does CWM give any errors with installing?
Im guessing you are reasonable experienced with flashing, but how long did you leave it for on the android screen?
is this the android animation screen or the boot splash?
Does the MD5 hash match?
Thanks for helping test this, hopefully can get some more info and testing done to work out what is going on here.
heh, just flashed it from fresh and no dice, boot loop. trying to suss it now.
Going to upload a more basic build which is just leandroid+ kernel. Just tested on fresh install and it boots fine. Link will be updated in the first post.
Paul
Ok, take 2... try the new mod which is in the original post. It is straight LEANdroid+fusion kernel.
CWM gives no errors. Not heavy enough to know the meaning of "MD5 hash match" but also not fresh out of the box; I gave it at least 5 minutes on the "Android" screen (don't know if that's called the animation or boot splash); regular LeanDroid takes almost exactly 2 minutes so I thought 5 should be long enough. Will try the new one now. If doesn't work it will take me a little while to get back to you about it because I'll have to reinstall a working ROM so I can connect and reply. Here goes.
PS: I'm not doing this for fun; I just wanted a fast & lean ROM because I found myself demanding a lot of my little IDEOS and she was getting intolerably slow...am I'm really exhausted from trying to come up to speed on all this over the last few weeks...so...I want to be finished with this now...so...when you do any future updates (in gratitude for my help ) if it's even possible, could you please make sure it catches this LEANdroidMOD_2 so I don't have to do anything else to have your final version? I'd really appreciate it. Here goes. I'll let you know what happens.
OK. It loaded. Took 2 minutes just like plain LeanDroid. I went straight to the app drawer to play with NoFrills but it's not there. I realize you probably "lightened" this one as a troubleshooting tool to get her working. I just installed NoFrills and it does offer the 691MHz of the custom kernel. Sorry for asking you to educate me but:
1. Is it very advantageous to have NoFrills (or any desired apps) built in to the ROM instead of installed separately and if so, why?
2. Should I go 691, 122, ondemand, & deadline or what?
3. Should wait before I start heavily customizing my homescreens with postits, etc. because this prelim version won't be updated?
4. Is there a way to update to a more final version without losing my homepage customizations?
Thanks for the (I say best) ROM and any educating you give.
Hey Paulynator, thanks for your patience. Leandroidmod_2 was a very quick build to get things moving as I had to build something to get my phone working after the first rom didn't boot in testing! Will upload another build with busybox by default and a couple of small mods today. Problem came from data/app, so ditched that and put apps into /system/app.
Questions:
1)Not really, I just like it, others may prefer setcpu or something else instead.
2)You go with what you feel happy and doesnt crash your phone, try 652 and 60 first, then go higher and lower if it is working fine. Just leave apply on boot unchecked in nofrills until everything is working fine. Ondemand and deadline will be fine.
3)Updates should be able to be installed without a wipe.
4)Just install zip in CWM over your install, sorry, I cant promise anything though.
Thanks
Paul
Ok, take 3. everything from 2+busybox and some custom bits. Tested on my phone and it boots fine with a total wipe. Hopefully wont need to do a total wipe, but have not tested flashing over an existing install.
For question #1, I didn't mean NoFrills as opposed to SetCPU or something else; I'm asking if it's very advantageous to have desired apps built in to the ROM instead of installed separately and if so, why?
Paul,
Report on LEANdroidMOD_3 (a.k.a. LeanDroidOnSteroids, c'mon, it rhymes!) (or even "cleaner": SteroidLeanDroid. If I say so myself, awesome title for an awesome ROM...to me.)
Installed over version #2 w/o wipe seems to be ok...to the extent that I started the process of recluttering (restoring) my Ideos as though "she's a keeper", i.e. no more wiping; the records stay intact from now on.

Sorry to hit you with 3 since your last but since we have a "hard"/permanent Home button right below the screen, is the redundant one at the bottom of the app drawer removable from a menu or would I have to mod the rom to remove it?

Doesnt matter one way or the other, I just liked it built in. Only possible advantage is that some apps in /system/app wont use space in /data/app, but this is lost the moment you update them as updates seem to install into /data/app. So my Leandroid with nofrills in /system/app still gives 164mb free space in data partition until things get updated.
Good work, thanks for the update that it can be installed over a previous install.
Home button is part of launcher pro. on the home screen, hit menu>preferences>appearance settings>uncheck home button on app drawer.

Just found a possible glitch. Don't know if it's the ROM so tried the obvious things to no avail. The camera app (any camera app; I tested the problem by downloading and trying others) won't access the gallery. In the stock app, the little preview window (that tapping opens the picture in the main window) won't open the picture. It gives an error message saying "app initialize failed. please download the app from the market". The app isn't in the market so I d/l'd 2 other camera apps and they both did the same. Using Root Explorer to try to open a picture also wouldn't work. Could you please try to access the gallery on a phone you've installed your ROM on and let me know if it works? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Works fine on mine. Try go to the market and update Quickpic. It does not like being in /system/app so if you update it, it should work. It was one of the reasons I tried to put it in a data/app from the start, but that caused bigger problems like the rom not booting.
I could also put the stock gallery back in alongside quickpic if needed but it does not have multitouch.

[Scripts] The Legit Zip (Feb 8, 2012) & Nifty Coniptions Tweaks v1.01 -

For the newest tweaks, see post #2. Will have links and info there.
Here is a flashable zip of 3 scripts that when put together speed up your phone and make it faster. I did not write these scripts, I just edited them to work like Car-O-Dopes tweaks. It basically has the same values as Car-o-Dopes tweaks. I used the S97ramscript, KickAssKernel, and 02sicktweaks but I changed the values of each script to match what Car-o-Dopes tweaks do, and I wanted to share this with you all because it makes installing these tweaks easier and faster. Thanks to zeppelinrox for the kickasskernelizer, Juwe11 for the S97ramscript, Smokinl1337 for the 02sicktweaks, coffehandle for giving me the idea when he made his own tweaks, and Car-o-Dope for coming up with the ultimate combination of out-of-memory settings and sysctl tweaks that make your phone smooth as butter.
I use this on my HTC Evo 4g running Shooter E3D, with AnthraX kernel and it works like a charm.
Just incase anyone is wondering what this does for your phone, it can make it run a lot faster, smoother, and a whole lot better. It could possibly increase battery life as well.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40376256/niftyconiptionstweaks.zip
Thanks to coffeehandle for update-script, now there's no need to mount /system and /data. When using either of the two updated scripts below, skip steps 9 and 11.
Sense Version (skip steps 9 and 11)

Flash at your own risk. I am in no way responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
Instructions: Follow Exactly
1) Make a nandroid backup incase something goes wrong or you want to revert.
2) Download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (I use Root explorer).
3) Open up root explorer and go to /system/etc/init.d. Click on the "Mount R/W"(that way you can delete files).
4) Delete any or move to a folder on your sdcard (incase you want to revert) any ram scripts or ram tweaks you may have that is in the "init.d" folder (examples of ram scripts or tweaks are 01sysctl, 06sysctl, 02sicktweaks, S97ramscript, 99supercharge, and 98Kickasskernel).
5) Also if you are running v6 supercharger, you need to un-supercharge. If you are running Kickass Kernelizer, you need to un-kernelize and do not run those scripts while you have the niftyconiptionsscripts installed.
6) Uninstall any ram manager apps or task killers and do not use these.
7) After you uninstall all of that, reboot your phone and verify that none of the scripts you had before are still installed. (it will mess with the scripts you are about to install).
8) Boot into recovery (preferably Amon Ra).
9) [ONLY DO THIS STEP IF YOU ARE USING THE ORIGINAL TWEAKS] Once in recovery, you need to mount /system, then mount /data.
10) Find the niftyconiptionstweaks.zip you downloaded and flash it.
11) [ONLY DO THIS STEP IF YOU ARE USING THE ORIGINAL TWEAKS] After you flash the zip, go back and unmount /system. Don't mess with the /data because after you flashed the zip, it automatically unmounted the /data for you.
12) Reboot phone and enjoy. Let your phone set at the lock screen for about 2 minutes, unlock and let it set for another 2 minutes to let it settle in. Your phone will become dramatically smoother after about an hour.
To see if the settings stick, in root explorer go to /system/etc/init.d and see if you can find the scripts. For a double check, download Rom Toolbox, go to the "performance" tab then check the "Auto Memory Manager" and see if it has values of 6,12,55,70,85,100 and "Sysctl tweaks" section to see if it has the values of 4096, 70, 50, 50.
If you're having trouble getting the settings to stick, double check that you've done all the instructions and if you have, download Busybox Installer off of the market and change your busybox to 1.18.2. Remove the scripts that may have been installed when you first flashed these tweaks, reboot, reboot again into recovery and flash the scripts.
Nifty Coniptions Tweaks
Updated niftyconitpionstweaks. Install just as you would before and follow directions as posted above. I got rid of some unnecessary settings in the scripts. Also your sdcard read ahead speed will change to 512kb which is the optimal value for the evo.

The Legit Zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40376256/Nifty-v1.01/TheLegitZip.zip
Here is The Legit Zip I just put together. This has the same settings as the V6 Supercharger on option 8 and the Kickasskernalizer. I did not change any values to these so its the same as installing those two scipts manually. Again, I did not write these scripts, I just put them into a tweak bundle to make it easier to install. Thanks to zepplinrox for making the V6 supercharger and the Kickasskernalizer. To install this, follow the same instructions in the first post and remember to skip steps 9 and 11.
To see if the settings stuck, download Rom Toolbox Pro and go to the performance tab, Kernel tweaks or Sysctl Tweaks (depending on what version of the application you have) and see if it reads as Min Free KBytes - 4096, Dirty Ratio - 95, Dirty Background Ratio - 60, VFS Cache Pressure - 10. Then go to the Auto Memory Manager and see if it reads as 6,12,150,165,180,200.
If you would like me to add another version of the V6 Supercharger just let me know.
Have fun and hit that thanks button if you like it.

oh bah i swear once i decide to flash something else new stuff comes that i wanna try out. any thoughts on flashing this after a fresh(i dont mean the fresh rom i mean new) rom install? just do the rom and setup and reboot then or think its ok to flash right after the rom (obviously following instructions as above after step 8)?

You should flash the rom and boot up because remember you need to delete any ram scripts or tweaks that may be built into the rom itself and also so you can be able to tell a difference after using these scripts if you like it or not.

You mentioned in the OP that you were running the Antrax kernel... I thought it didn't support init.d? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I remembered reading that somewhere. If it does, then that's awesome cuz I love that kernel.
It's works for me. I've also got the most updated kernel he released. I've never heard of it not supporting init.d

Then obviously what I read was misinformation. It doesn't make sense to create a kernel that doesn't support it. BTW, this little tweaks zip you created is awesome. Thank you for your work sir.
wow i did the exact same thing and was thinking if i should post it
EDIT:
OP, if you want a better update script let me know. You wont have to do all that mounting and unmounting
Damn, this probably wouldn't work well with unvisible tweaks, I think it also has the ramscript, but if it does then wouldn't it just replace what was made before, so I wouldn't think it would cause any problems.
We need a BULK tweak zip that has all of these tweaks already in it, **** even include vipermod and v6 supercharger, oh my would that be a amazing all in one script.

Make your Galaxy Y perform like a Alien device using Zeppelinrox Script...

One of the Worst thing in the Android is When you install Many Apps... It will lag like hell... When you utilize your full processor speed... It couldn't help... I myself *experience* it... Then i searched here and there about Tweaking RAM performance... I finally found out a Method to Tweak your Galaxy Y's RAM Performance... It really works Great with my Galaxy Y... There are two scripts to make your RAM Perform well... These Scripts are called V6 Super Charger and Kickass Kernalizer... Okay Here we go...
Note: This Tweak can only perform in Rooted Galaxy Y... Do you want to Know How to Root your Galaxy Y... Click here for the Tutorial
V6 Super Charger
What is V6 Super Charger and What it Does Actually?
Android memory consumption concept is all about efficiency. The device’s RAM is a resource that is meant to be used; 100% of it (if possible), all the time (if possible).
Android utilizes unused RAM to cache data and filesystem meta-data from slower storage devices (Flash or disk) because fetching the information from the RAM is much quicker.
So the Super Charger does is,*It rearranges and fixes the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values.
Benefits of V6 Super Charger
It's a Complete Memory Management Fix to make your Phone Fast and Supper Snappy with better Multitasking!!!
No Launcher Redraws, faster than ever, multitasking is better... why?*Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
Requirements
Busybox Installer - Download from Market
Script Manager - Download from Market
Script Manager Widgets - Download from Market*(Optional)
V6 Super Charger*Script*- Download
Kickass Kernalizer Script - Download
Note: Don't bother about the Extension of the Script... Yes, I know its in PDF format... Just leave as it is...
Steps to Install
1) Make Backup of your*Existing*ROM using CWM - Download
2) First we are going to Install BusyBox V1.18.2... Open Busybox Installer and follow the below steps...
* * 2.1) This is the First screen when you open Busybox Installer... Now Tap the Down arrow key to select Busybox V1.18.2...
*
* * 2.2) Once you installed Busybox V1.18.2, you will see this*confirmation*message...
3) Now we are going to Run V6 Super Charger Script... Follow the below steps carefully and*accurately...
* * 3.1) Now open Script Manager Ads... Since this is the first time we are launching Script Manager... Allow 'Browse As Root' option...
* *3.2) Now Scroll down and select 'V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC6.9.sh' pdf file...*
* * 3.3)*A popup window will appear. On this window, select the "Fav" and "SU" buttons near the top (adding to favorites makes it easier to access later), then click "Run" in the top left...
* 3.4)*Now Text will start scrolling, you can scroll up at any time if you missed something. Script will do a bunch of tests to make sure you've got busybox and all that, your phone should pass fine. When asked to choose a scroll speed, choose 'Fast' by entering '1'...
* *3.5) Now in the next step select 'local.prop'...
* * 3.6) In the Next Step Select 'No'
* * 3.7)*You should now see the 'Driver's Console' a list of options numbered 1-30 and below that, various information on what's going on with your phone about SuperCharger....* * * * ** At the Driver's Console, you will need to pick one of the options listed under 512 HP (5, 6, or 7). Choosing 5 means more apps can run in the background, but the performance benefits will not be great... Choosing 7 will have the greatest performance benefits, but you may end up with a lot of apps being closed behind your back... If you're not sure which one you should pick, Choose 6. This is the best option for most people...
* *3.8) Whichever the option you choose, It will ask you to 'SuperClean & Restart'... And you must do... It will Wipe your Dalvik Cache...
* *3.9)*After restart, open Script Manager and launch the V6 script again (if you added it to your favorites, once in Script Manager, click Menu Button > Favorites). Now in Driver Console Select option '13' which is 'OOM Grouping Fixes + BulletProof Launcher'... And give 'Yes' to install BulletProof launcher...
* * 3.10) Now back in Driver Console optoins, Select '20' Which is 'Nitrolag Nullifier'... Then Give 'Yes' to Drop all the caches...
* *3.11) Then again back in Driver Console, Select '18' which is 'Engine Flush'...
* * 3.12) Then back to Driver Console, Select '29' which is 'Super Clean & Restart'...
4) When you *finished* all the above steps...**You should notice a considerably faster startup time and a much snappier launcher. Lets verify everything was installed correctly by launching the script one more time...
5)*When you get to Driver's Console, look at the area below the options, you should see the following messages (you'll see others too, but these are the important ones)
Launcher is BULLETPROOF! i.e. SUPERCHARGED!
OOM Grouping Fixes ARE in effect!
Current values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Nitro Lag Nullifier is Installed!
6) If you see Everything there... Thats it, You successfully installed the V6 Script... Enjoy the Performance of your Device...
Kickass Kernalizer
What is it?
Everyone said this will Tweak your Galaxy Y to Perform more faster and it tweaks I/O Scheduler..
But for me, After installing this script my SDCard Scanning is Blazing speed... It really Increases my I/O device performance...
Steps to Install
1) Now just like the above steps... Open 'Script Manager' and select the 'KickAssKernelizer_Tweaks_Installer_Update_3_RC6.sh' pdf file...
*A popup window will appear. On this window, select the "Fav" "SU" and "Boot" buttons near the top, then click "Run" in the top left...
2)*Now Text will start scrolling, you can scroll up at any time if you missed something... When the script prompt for an input Choose 'Kick Ass' from the list...
3) Now the script will ask you, Whether you want to Enable I/O scheduler... Give 'Yes' to enable it...
4) Thats it... Reboot your Device manually and see the Performance... I Bet you will feel the Increased Performance...
Is this tweak works for you?? Or If you have any Doubts or any help... Just drop a comment here... I will help you Instantly...
*Thanks to Zeppelinrox @ XDA... He is the man behind this Awesome RAM Tweak...
Enjoy and Peace!!!!

yes, it works great on my SGY. thanks. but what I mean here is whether the script manager could run any script on boot. in my past experience this aplication didn't run any script on boot.
btw, can I give some advice here? I thought you should write setprop command in a form setprop <key> <value>. for an instance, instead 'setprop dalvik.vm.heapsize=48m' you should write it 'setprop dalvik.vm.heapsize 48m' on the script.

I didn't notice that but you are correct.

[Guide] Supercharger V6 for everyone, make your phone faster

I wrote this guide for originally in elk759's JB CM10 thread, but with some modifications it works with every ROM and every phone.
I thought other guides were too hard to understand so I concluded all neccessary information and nothing more.
This guide is for Windows, because it uses a Windows tool to make the process MUCH easier. This only affects the modding of services.jar, so look at the original Supercharger thread for instructions withot the Windows tool.
Here are the benefits of using SUPERCHARGER, I cn approve that it works, it's faster, more apps can run and no launcher redraws!

What's it do?
It makes your phone FAST... super snappy with better multitasking!
It rearranges and fixes the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values.
So basically, it's a COMPLETE MEMORY MANAGEMENT FIX!
It's the ONLY one of it's kind
NO LAUNCHER REDRAWS, faster than ever, multitasking is better... why?
Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
The problem with using minfree tweakers like AMM or AKMO is that it doesn't work the same on all roms.
Secondary apps may be in slot 3 on some roms but in slot 5 in others!
That's why you hear people comment "I tried AKMO but it didn't do anything..."
Most likely it didn't do anything because the apps weren't sitting where they were expected to be.
So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride!

IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, LOOK FIRST AT THE Q&A BELOW!
1. Prerequisites:
SuperCharger_Starter_Kit_xxx.zip (contins busybox, sqlite and zipalign)
[*]V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC11_xxx.sh.pdf
Script Manager for starting scripts (on first run enable root browse AND run every script with su rights, the skull and bones symbol)
ES File Explorer (with root rights in settings->root management)
optionally: Terminal Emulator
Recommended for everyone and REQUIRED for 4.0+ Roms:
pepcisko's Windows tool for patching services.jar
Place the V6_Supercharger script and the Supercharger_Starter_Kit.zip content to "/sdcard/V6"
Place the Windows tool somewhere on your Hard Drive
Install the required apps
2. Installation of Starter Kit:
Start SManager and confirm root rights when browsing
go to sdcard/V6/1_SuperCharger_Starter_Kit and click on StartMeUp.sh
select the SU button (skull + bones) and RUN it as script and follow the instructions (install at least busybox for being safe that everything works)
3. Patching services.jar
Background information (could be very useful):
Patching the services.jar gives you the multitasking mod. Apps shouldn't restart all the time, they will stay in RAM as long as they can.
Patching the services.jar is REQUIRED for Android 4.x.x, but you don't have to use multitasking mod.
For the other Android versions it isn't required, you only need this if you want to have multitasking mod, too.
If you have Sense 4.0+ and want multitasking mod, you have to follow this, more complex tutorial.
But you can also use this method, but your visible app limit stay at 8 Apps, instead of 50!
extract the Windows tool and launch it
You can choose between online mode (phone drivers needed) or offline mode, I'll explain offline mode:
make sure you have root rights in ES Explorer and that you mount system as R/W (read/writable)
copy the services.jar from /system/framework to your SD, and connect your phone to PC
move the services.jar to the framework folder of the Windows tool directory
in the windows tool specify your Android version + if the rom is odexed/deodexed
now press "enter" -> "y" for supercharge -> "enter" for die die-hard launcher -> "enter" -> "y" for multitasking -> "enter" -> "y" to delete temporary files
You have patched the services.jar, now you have two options (both files are in "dist" directory):
Place the update-signed.zip on sdcard and install it via recovery
OR
Place the modded services.jar (and if odexed rom the services.odex too) to /system/framework and overwrite. Then you have to set owner and permissions:
In Terminal Emulator
su
(confirm SuperUser Request)
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
cd /system/framework
chown 0.0 services.jar
chmod 644 services.jar
Now go into recovery (or stay there after flashing update-signed.zip) and wipe cache & dalvik cache.
On your next reboot apps should be optimized.
4. Supercharger Installation
Remember: I can't promise, that the guide is always up to date. So it could happen that after an update of the script, the option numbers are different. Look at the text on the right side of the option
start the /sdcard/V6/V6_SuperCharger... script with SManager with SU rights
follow the instructions of driver options: You will be asked for Scroll Speed but also various tweaks which can improve the performance
The script calculates the preferred FreeMem size, you can use them or set your own prefered size:
After you have declined to use the calculated option you are in Driver's Console, you can choose between 33 options.
The Options 2 to 9 set the MinFree size, for the different Ram Size of the devices.
For the Desire I recommend option 6 which is called "balanced". You can try a lower or a higher option, too.
Lower values are better for Multitasking, higher values are better for the speed on the visible app.
go back to driver options and type 21 for Nitro Lag Nullifier, confirm with N (could be unstable, you don't have to use this)
After you are finished press option 17 for Engine Flush and after that option 32 for SuperClean& Restart
After the restart you should open SManager again and navigate to /system/etc/init.d, click on S99SuperCharger and enable SU + Run on Boot.
Press Save. This should avoid issues if you want to launch Supercharger Script again (for me it worked without doing that)
Widgets for easy and fast freemem change:
For compairing settings, you can make widgets, settings will be changed instantly:
- you have to select the option you want to use as a widget (e.g. option 5 of supercharger) one time in V6_Supercharger script
Your selected options will appear as a small script in sdcard/V6_Supercharger/PowerShift_Scripts
- long press on home screen, click on Widgets and select SManager
- choose the script you want to use (e.g. 512HP_UnLedded...)
Q&A Supercharger
Q: Supercharger says "sorry, your rom wipes service entries on boot". Is it an issue?
A: No you can ignore it. You'll stay supercharged. (thx to abelle_abelle for the hint)
Q: Supercharger says that I'm only 75%/50% supercharged. What is the reason?
A: Propably the services.jar hasen't been patched right. Check if the services.jar is replaced and if the owner and the permissions are right. Try it out with offline mode in the Windows tool.
Q: Do I have to patch the services.jar again after rom update?
A: If you flash the rom you have to replace the original services.jar again. I don't know if you can use the previous patched services.jar.
Q: Do I have to run the whole script again after a rom update?
A: You have to run the Supercharger script again, but it has stored the last settings and can restore them. Then you have to Wipe Cache & Dalvik, reboot and set /system/etc/init.d/S99SuperCharger to run with SU rights + at boot.
Q: Did my settings stick?
A: If Supercharger says "100% supercharged" everything should be fine. If you think there is something wrong, because of a particular message paste the log text in pastebin.com and give me the link in your post.
Q: Do I have to install the Supercharger StarterKit?
A: No, you cann try it without this first if you want. BUT some busybox versions doesn't work with Supercharger (everything below 1.16.2 and even some versions above 1.16.2.
The StarterKit installs a recommended version.
Q: My phone is getting slower from time to time.
A: This can happen if you don't reboot often (1 or 2 days). The cache is growing and there is less and less RAM.
If you don't want to reboot all the time you can make the EngineFlush in V6_SuperCharger (option 17) and a script will be created (!FastEngineFlush.sh). You can make a widget for it after you set it as favorite or launch it normally in Script Manager.
A more detailed guide about making widgets is written above.
Q: Everythings (apps and launcher) stucks after NitroLagNullifier/V6 Supercharger installation. What can I do?
A: The user abelle_abelle had this issue. He had to hard reset his device (hard reset wipes your partitions -> deletes your data) and had to reinstall the rom.
Q: Are there any possibilites to make my rom even faster?
A: Yes, with KickAssKernelizer (KAK):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32508611&postcount=35
Maybe I will write a bit more detailed guide for this. You can see what it does at the benefits of Supercharger at the top of my first post.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took me long to test and to write please give a Thanks if I helped you
Also thank the creator of the scripts (check links)

I'm sorry, I thought I edited the post. I'm using Elk's CM10 for Desire.
After trying several times to wait after having wiped cache and davlink (and fixed permissions) I re-flashed the rom and tried to apply the superchager script.
Problem 1: not enough spaces on the system (I'm using INT2EXT)
Problem 2: supercharger only at 50%
Problem 3: Apex launcher not recognized
Should I try to re-do everything, maybe this time with the offline method? But how to avoid the system space problem?

First off, I used it for CM10 too but without int2ext.
The reason for 50% is propably the unpatched service.jar(at beginning I had this issue too)
First, I would try to use the offline mode, the utility propably hasn't patched anything so try if it's working by manual way.
Just put the service.jar on PC, patch it and replace it. Then start the Supercharger V
script gain and it should be 100%.
otherwise do that:
On your SD Card there should be a Supercharger.html with a "log" or sth like that, please send it to me.
Additionally check if there is a "V6 Supercharger" folder on your SD, created by the script.
And check the output of the Windows tool! Be sure you have phone drivers on your PC and your phone is connected without SD Card Read if you use online.
-------------------------------------------
The space on system shouldn't be a problem, you have to use at least 250mb system (so stock hboot), int2ext only mounts /data on ext, so as I understood it is used for fatsys hboots which have 450mb system and NO space for data...
Why do you think that the space is a problem? Where did you notice it?
The APEX problem can be discussed after getting the rest work...
Please give feedback whether it worked or not

Do you have stock hboot?
Try to delete some unnecessary preinstalled apps with file explorer.
(I search for some which you could delete...)
Edit: in system/app/ you can delete at least Calenar.apk, ES File Explorer.apk and Email.apk (after backup I think you can delete Gallery2.apk too, don't know how this affects on camera)
This should free at least 4mb and should be enough.
The file was just a help file and not a log, sorry for the mistake, thought it would create a og, but you have showed me the eroor with the pics...
Hey mate can you make a youtube video showing the steps. I understand better with visuals, and thanks for sharing.

Yes I have stok hboot, and this is the first time I try to install V6 on a JB rom.
Concerning the lack of space I've done like you said, thank you!... BUT when I try to install binay 3.1 (which should fix the segmentation faults) it points out that it's only for ICS and aborts the installation. So I fixed the permission manually.
Now I'm going to check the rest and see what happens.
Fixed permission, flashed update-signed.zip, wiped davlink and cache, rebooted and... well, after HTC logo the screen turned off and only the hardkeys were illuminated
I'm going to flash the rom again and start from the beginning for the third time.

I saw that you are going to install Paranoid anyway, I have flashed CM10 recently so I have to redo my Supercharger and I will explain it in detail for you.
I will edit this post but give you a overview first.
I recommend to flash Gapps first and then enable a2sd.
Try installing Supercharger without the use of Starter Kit, Busybox, SQlite and SU binaries (v3.2) are preinstalled (if you want to check for update anyway check it in SuperUser app)
StarterKit is designed to give everyone the TESTED busybox version, to avoid problems, but try it without the installation of StarterKit, just if it doesn't work because of busybox get the one of StarterKit (I will try it with preinstalled version, not the one of StarterKit)
So here are my steps, I'll try:
1. patch services.jar with offline mode, then put the output service.jar with ES File Explorer in /system/framework
2. With terminal emulator I will set the permissions and the owner
3. I will launch the Superuser script.
You can try this while I am using this method, too, but in any case I will report if it works or not
Edit: I decided to make a video, for this I will use StarterKit too, to show everything.

Thank you, you are very patient and nice!
Yes I'm indeed trying Paranoid, because it solves the big problem I had with Elk's CM10 (wifi not working with wifi networks with PEAP), although it is slower and I intend to revert back as soon as the problem is fixed.
I will try your method, hoping that the hateful fragmentation fault problem doesn't occur anymore. :fingers-crossed:

I don't know if it is rally the segmentation (or whatever it's called) because it only occurs in ICS, if you want to install the su binary of the StarterKit it says NO because you don't need this (I think so)
I will upload a video tomorrow and I hope it solves your problem, for me everything's working fine
Does reinstalling the rom gets rid of the script? Because I'm currently using mildwild 5.0 and when I installed the supercharger script the rom got slightly slower, so I was wondering if reinstalling the rom gets rid of the script. Maybe I picked the wrong choices when installing the script I'm gonna wait for you to make a video so I can correctly do it.

Reinstalling the rom deletes supercharger, because system is wiped (i think so)
The Video will show how you install the script, there aren't man decisions which you can choose incorrectly.
The speed is especially affeced by multitasking mod (keeps apps in memory, a bit less RAM for games) and freemem options which you choose in supercharger script, I recommend Option 6 for balanced settings.
AS I said the video only shows the basic things (and only for 4.0+)...
Edit: Video wont have many anotations, will be under time pressure
