[Q] New Airpad 7P Can it be rooted ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi Im kinda new here though I have rooted a few phones using directions from XDA Ive always found any help I needed here. I just purchased 2 of the X10 7P Airpads. These airpads were advertised as having Android Gingerbread v 2.3.4 and it had Android Marketplace. Well unfortunately it has been modded to not include the ability to register your google account so you cant use the Android Market. The Account & Sync section under settings is completely missing. I copied the android marketplace apk file from another device and installed it, but when I try to use it - it ask me if I want to add my google account so I click yes and it just jumps to the tablets homepage. I am forced to use Amazon marketplace and it sucks! Ive searched high and low to find out if I can root the tablet or something so I can get access to the regular android marketplace. I searched on here and cant find anything as of yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I dont even know if I posted this in the right place - so any help will be greatly appreciated. Bad thing is I bought these primarily for the marketplace and now cant use it.

root the airpad 7p
I was able root my airpad 7p following these instructions
I guess due to policy even though I have been a memeber since 2008, I can't post the links but if you go to my blog
then I have all of the liks. my blog is

STEP 1 Download the Firmware:
STEP 2 Download and install LiveSuitPack
Guide:
Prepare the files
1. Extract the firmware so you can see the image named “MOMO9C-4-Kevin”
2. Install LiveSuitPack 1.07
2. After running the exe go to the folder and run the application (LiveSuit.exe approx. 2mb)
3. Browse to the folder where the image MOMO9C-4-Kevin
4. The tablet should be off
Prepare the Momo9
5. Whilst keep volume+ button pressed, plug it in via USB
6. Keep pressing the volume+ button and also press the power button time for 10 times
7. After several presses on the power button there will be a “sound” it connects as Windows recognises new USB hardware
8. Windows 7 will install drivers automatically, in Windows XP you need to point windows to the directory where you extracted software
9. When all the drivers are installed, the firmware will start to install automatically
Finishing the Installation
10. There will be no sign of loading on the Momo9 – don’t worry
11. On the PC, LiveSuit shows a bar graph – it takes about 2 mins to go onto the Momo9
12. After the yellow bar on Livesuite is completed action (about 2 mins) nothing happens.
13. You will see an exclamation mark (using Windows 7) with no text. Click OK.
14. Then wait a few seconds. Unplug the momo9 from the USB. You will see a green battery symbol. Ignore it. Restart the tablet manually (as normal using the on/off button).
15. After this, you will be given two options, click start using android wizard (or something similar).
Everything should be included (Market, Navigation, Maps etc) Enjoy it!
TOTAL TIME INCLUDING DOWNLOADS 20 minutes maximum

Anyone else try one of these airpads and root it?

[Q] T02A internal memory says 0, no install

ok so this is my first post, ive been messing with android for a year now, first rooted about 2 months after i got my first phone(verizon lg vortex which is also screwed up(boots up but doesnt go past the verizon logo after the lg logo) anyways i thought id save money ordering a "non-branded" tablet Model: T02A (It is the same as EKEN T02 i think)
7`capacitive touch screen 800x480
4GB NAND FLASH
512 MB RAM DDR3
ARMv7 A10 Cortex A8 1Ghz
0.3 mpx front camera
Kernel 3.0.8+
OS - ICS 4.0.3
but after installing titanium backup i simply used the reboot the device option, come to find out it basically factory reset itself and now shows 0 in the internal memory but 37.7MB of apps, it wont let me install apps and there is no way i can find to direct it to install in another location, i can download apps from anywhere but the market but no install, is there anything i can do to get the int. mem. back or somehow flash the original os? ps i have aalready tried hard resetting both with vol down and power and the settings>backup&reset>factory data reset>reset tablet.
as it is i can use it as basically a video screen with stuff on my sd and surfing the net, but i bought it with a bit more in mind. if anyone can PLEASE help i would appreciate it, and im sorry if this post is a bit long...

Dear Friends,
I am a newbie to android.I also faced the same issue after rooting my T02A tab(Telmoco tab,a Indian company but Chinese re-branded device).
I bought it for my wife and did some experiments with it(rooting).Later its automatically doing factory reset in every booting. Also every time I need to login to play store after turning off the device. So she is very upset with the tab as I bricked it.So I did lot of research to bring it up as you guys are trying. After googling I found a support website of EKEN tab (eken.com/support/) and downloaded firmware for T02A and a livesuit(firmware update utility) from another website.
First download both links from below mentioned websites.
Please note that I am not an expert so what ever you are doing please do it on your own risk.
Also these steps and all I found from diffferent google searches so I won't be able to help you if you ask me any questions.
I am happy to answer but no idea about it..
Lets start
Firmware link from eken site for T02A is f t p://202.105.131.8/t02.rar
Livesuit link whatisandroid.me/LiveSuitPack_v1.07.zip
Extract livesuit rar file to a folder and run LiveSuitPack_v1.07.exe and it will extract all the contents to same folder.
extract the t02a.rar(downloaded firmware)and yo will get the following file "sun4i_crane_t02a.img" .Later we need it for firmware update.
Run "LiveSuit.exe" inside the livesuit folder(run as admin)
Now the livesuit user wizard will popup.
If the popup didn't came automatically then choose "wizard upgrade" manually
I prefer you to use the upgrade guide.
so press yes
Choose Mandatory upgrade mode as it is recommended
It will tell you to remove all connected usb devices from your PC as it may interrupt your process.
also remove the power source from the Tablet.
press next
then select yes for to select image file
choose the "sun4i_crane_t02a.img" (extracted firmware file)
The livesuit will tell you to power off the tablet by pressing power button for 10 seconds.
once the device is off press and hold any button except power button .
Then connect the tablet to the computer using your usb cable.
press power button 10 times quickly.
The device will now go to recovery mode(If I am correct)
Then the usb will try to find the driver automatically for upgrade(I am using windows 7 so it found driver automatically)
Then it will update the firmware if you are lucky.....
Sorry for my bad english.....
Fix From Another Post
I found a solution, hopefully this can help someone in the future
The problem was i installed busybox using an installer which causing some file discrepancies.
To fix it :
1. Install Android Terminal Emulator, this app can be installed even if storage shows full. If you cant install the terminal use Uniflashv2 (open uniflashv2 and connect your device with the debug usb on, go to rom modding, then file manager)
2. copy /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin, if busybox is installed the code is "busybox cp /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin"
3. power off then power on (reboot)
When I did the above, all my previous apps and setting came back to normal
jeewa19 posted this fix, and it helped/ was my exact problem. I hope this helps others as well :cyclops:

[Q] Nexus 5 & MAP SMS driver for Windows 8.1

Hello.
I recently purchased Nexus 5 and would have to say it is one of the best phones I've ever owned.
I use Bluetooth 4 on my computers and decided to join my N5 to my computer. I was going through my Device Manager looking for this WiFi adapter I plugged in and noticed I was missing a driver for something. Come to find out, it was for "MAP SMS" which is 'Message Access Profile' for what I believe is to allow me to send SMS with my computer.
At work, I use Lenovo computers and noticed they allowed me to do this kind of thing already on my old Galaxy S3... but I am using Windows 8.1 Pro and my main computer is custom built and not OEM so I appear to be missing such drivers and functionality.
Does anyone know of any drivers that are particular to MAP SMS on Windows 8.1?
Code:
BTHENUM\{00001132-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_VID&0001000f_PID&1200
I would normally grab certain parts of the HW ID and go to pcidatabase.com to find drivers but I am not sure how to proceed.
I also did search xda-dev forums for MAP SMS and did not find anything from the built in search. I did do a Google Search for Hardware ID and saw a bunch of unhelpful comments from MSFT staff.
I have Nexus S and on Windows 8.1. Looking for the driver too. I have the same Hardware ID as the one you posted. Please let me know in case you find it.
Need same driver
Though i got an Motorola MotoX

Hi, I know this is a very late answer, but this worked out for me :

For Windows 7 64 Bit - testet and works fine on Sony Vaio VGN-TT11WN
Windows requires two important files to install the device - "BthMtpEnum.sys" be found in the directory [root]\Windows\System32\Driver and "bth.inf" be found in the directory [root]\Windows\inf. Before you can install the driver makesure the two files are properly installed on your computer and the Versionnumber is at least 6.1.7600.16385 for "BthMtpEnum.sys" and 6.1.7601.17514 for "bth.inf" . If not then try following: Download the file "BthMtpEnum.sys" from the Internet. I don't remember the adress where i found the file, but i am sure you can find the file quickly with google. Because this is a system file and must be registred as driver from Windows and therefore you must copy and paste the downloaded "BthMtpenum.sys" to your system directory. By default for Windows 7, this is: C:\Windows\System32. If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place BthMtpEnum.sys in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\. Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file). Finaly reboot your computer. Sometimes it is possible that Windows shows a error message after the reboot. Then try following: 1. Open Windows Start menu and select "Run...". 2. Type CMD and press Enter. 3. Type cd (your root letter, e.g. C or D etc.):\Windows\System32 (example: cd C:\Windows\System32) and press Enter. 4. Type regsvr32 BthMtpEnum.sys and press Enter. When it's done we continue with the 2nd important file. Go in to your Windows\inf directory. Look at the file "bth.inf". If you find the file then go to my install instruction below else if you can't find the file you can manually copy the file taken from another source. You can found and take the file also from Windows 8/8.1 Version wich works fine under Windows 7. Only important is the samebus architecture(32/64) from the Version of Windows you use and the Version of Windows you want to use the file. I had success with the "bth.inf" from a Windows 8.1. You find the filein the same directory as in Windows 7 (windows/inf). Finally, copy this file manually in your Windows\inf directory (e.g. with a usb-stick). Reboot your Computer. When it's done you can install the device with the following instruction :
Install:
1. go in the Device Manager
2. select the Device and right click on it
3. select Update Driver Software
4. select "Browse my Computer... - Locate and install driver manually"
5. select "Let me pick from a list...."
6. unselect "Show compatible hardware" and than click on "Have Disk..."
7. Navigate to your Windows/Inf Directory and select the file "bth.inf"
8. On the left side "Manufacturer" select Microsoft and on the right side "Model" select Bluetooth-MTP-Deviceenumerator and click next to install the driver.
9. Done, enjoy.
P.S. 1. Possible in Step 8 Manufacturer can also named Generic. 2. Before last step to install the driver is possible that Windows show's a warning-info "driver is not digitally signed" - you can ignore this, click yes or next to install this driver anyway - it works fine.
Attention: This is my Interpredation the solution of this annoying problem because I had nowhere found a workingsolution in the internet. The approach has worked for me with the above-mentioned hard and software works. I can not guarantee whether this solution also works with other components. For safety please make a backup of your system beforeyou applying this solution way.
Thank you, i hope i can help somebody

[Release]For-Fun Q3 Main V1.4 ROM

Hello,
So i noticed alot of people having trouble finding this ROM with the ZET6223/WTA drivers, here is a quick guide and a download link (had to remove the original on another topic as it was being shared on various forums with no link back) please if you share this link it back to xda!
**This guide asumes you know how to use adb and you have the correct usb drivers, also please note this is for the 9'inch version but may work on the 7, please reply to thread with details if it does**
GUIDE: Step.1: Once downloaded extract it to desktop, then open live suit (i personally used version 1.09), select option no on the update wizard, then click select image, locate the image extracted from the download, keep this live suit window open whilst you perform step 2.
Step.2: While you're tablet is powered off fully (there will be no lights) connect it to the usb port on you're laptop/desktop, the tablet will automatically attempt to start up, whilst still keeping the tablet connected via usb press and hold the power button on it for around 6 seconds until it powers off again, (you may see a red light to indicate its charging this is normal) now that the tablet is off press and hold the volume up key and quickly tap the power button 6 times, wait until you see a box popup on you're desktop/laptop on live suit saying to format the tablet, then release the volume button and proceed to pressing yes to format the tablet via the live suit window, it will then preform the flashing and should take anywhere from 2 to 6 minutes, once it has completed the tablet will boot up normally, disconnect the usb cable.
Hopefully if you followed this correctly and used the provided firmware you're tablet should function as intended. If you get stuck or require a talk through it including how to get adb/live suit ect feel free to skype me on id: chunk1189.

Lenovo A8-5500-HV A8-5500-H ROMS

Good day!
I am posting here in the hope it helps someone. If I am posting in the wrong place or doing something else wrong please do let me know.
I am going to post some links & some text instructions but will explain the outline first.
I own a Lenovo A8-5500-H tablet, lenovo H variants according to the internet are made with the same hardware as their HV varients but a different ROM. H's have 3g data & wifi but not voice calling, HV's have 3d data & wifi & voice calling. After some googling & translating from Russian I discovered the ROM for the H but not the HV, then a few days ago the HV was posted - with the most dreadful instructions in Russian that translated poorly & still involved some faffing around. Anywho I can confirm that you can load the HV rom onto the H and get the 3g calls and all the other pre installed lenovo stuff. The phone is not rooted. The only advantage is that the H is about £50 less than the HV to purchase.
I have permission of the author to share his program and the rom. My links are to the russian lenovo forum where you may have to register.
After the links I will put my own instructions (within this post) which are much easier to follow than russian ones. Again I hope this helps someone.
http://lenovo-forums.ru/files/file/582-lenovo-a8-a5500-a5500hv-a442-000-017-140709-row-call/ this is th a8-5500-hv rom.
http://lenovo-forums.ru/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=15372 this is the lenovo driver pack - you need to use this & not windows own.
http://lenovo-forums.ru/files/file/549-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%88%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%BA%D0%B0-lenovo-a8-%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B8%D0%B4-442-a5500h-a442-000-013-140526-row/ this is the original ROM incase you make a mistake and need to start again.
NOT FOR USE ON THE -F VARIANT.
ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS
This is not a direct translation. This provides directions for installing the Lenovo A8-5500-HV Rom onto a Lenovo A8-5500-H device for the perpose of making 3g calls. I have tested this function and method and verify that it works.
However I take no responsibility for you or you device.
Apparently with Lenovo wherever they have a H & HV variant the hardware is the same and the ROMs interchangeable. I have not verified this.
Lets go!
1. Don't Panic. If it doesn't work, you should not have bricked your device, just reload the original ROM.
2. Equipment needed - USB lead to attach device to PC / laptop, preferably the original but another powered lead will do the job ... Your tablet ... a laptop or PC ....
3. Files needed .. Original rom for if you go wrong, called A5500H_A442_000_013_140526_ROW at the time of writing. The new Rom called A5500HV_A442_000_017_140709_ROW, the drivers called LenovoUsbDriver_autorun_1.0.10
4. Time, less than an hour. Maybe half that time.
Apparently 99% of lenovo phones & tablets use the same driver. If yours doesn't I may be able to help but I may not.
(Potential problems:
Windows XP can get confused. You may need to install windows media player 11.)
5. On the PC / Laptop
Unzip the driver file and run it.
6.Unzip the new rom.
7. Have device manager open. You want the tablet to show as MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM port (COM44) or some variant of this. so on Windows 7 or 8 install the divers (without the tablet plugged in).
8. Ensure your tablet is TURNED OFF (seriously this is not a typo) and plug it in. If you the the meditek stuff all well and good. If not you have to be QUICK
9. In the 2 seconds that the device manager says unknown device, right click on it and update driver (pointing the to previously unzipped driver files).
10. Remove the tablet from the laptop / PC
11. Run Flash_tool.exe which is part of the unzipped rom.
12. Click on scatter loading.
13. Go to the folder target_bin and select the file MT6582_scatter_LVP5-3G-ROW-Voice.1.017.01
14. Tick the box called DA-DL with all Checksum (again dont panic if you forget - it just wont work & you have to try again)
15. Click button called Upgrade firmware.
16. Plug in the still powered off tablet. there will be some flashing. If not check the tablet to make sure it's not doing anything, unplug phone, wait a minute and start again.
17. When you see a bright green circle it is complete.
18. You may now unplug your tablet and turn it on.
If you are using the software with another lenovo device, if the battery is removable please do so before plugging into the PC / Laptop.
All ROM & software work was by Steaven on the Lenovo Forum. Google translate, common sense, guesswork and trial and error provided by MSU in order to provide English directions that make sense.

I got stuck at this point. But I know why. Win7 x64 bit system and I can only install signed drivers! None of these drivers have a digital signature.
I shall go dig out an old XP system I have and see how it goes.
Are we absolutely certain that regular windows drivers will not do for this process?
And has anyone rooted one of theses yet? And has anyone worked out how people can move application data (Maps for Navfree I am thinking of) from the internal memory to an SD Card?
Many thanks for your info on this.
Des. . .
If you go into the settings you can select 'allow unsigned drivers' , or go through the device manager and do the driver that way, or just click 'continue anyway' I have w7x64 and this worked fine....
I've not rooted it yet. But I don't need to now I have phone calls.
It lets me install to SD card as in the settings on the lab I selected sd card as my main storage point...there are a few apps however that wont flag up the option.
I hope some of the above helps.
Hi,
I did find This topic in my travels as it seemed that all the drivers in the download you mentioned were for "Lenovo" this or that.
For the moment I have that installed and the device flashes to a point and then seems to stop...
Or maybe I'm impatient..
Des. . .
Hi,
Ahhh... Sneaky tablet..
So, when plugging in the USB I noticed that it would "semi-start and show a power/charge indicator. This would disappear after a minute and all would go dark. So whilst I thought the tablet was off, it wasn't. I thought about this for a moment and then pressed and held the power button. That did turn it off for real.
I also noticed that the ROM updated also became much more agitated and active, with a light green bar at the bottom actually seeming to do the ROM update.
And yes, with the driver I linked to and really powering off once plugged in and then clicking the "Update ROM" button all was updated.
Can I just confirm, does your Lenovo have GPS as well?

After the links I will put my own instructions (within this post) which are much easier to follow than russian ones. Again I hope this helps someone.

http://lenovo-forums.ru/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=15372 this is the lenovo driver pack - you need to use this & not windows own.

That says "What month of the year the third in a row" according to google!
Bing is less cryptic: "What month in year third". So March should be the answer.
I managed to register, eventually. Do make sure to check the two last boxes, one is for Admin emails and the other is to accept the terms and conditions.

Hi,

Hi Des
I am experiencing the same problem with powering the device completely off. Could you go step by step on how you are doing this? Like, at what stage are you pressing and holding the power button and for how long are you holding it for? When I tried it, the tablet just rebooted.
Thanks.
Norman
Hi,
1) Power off the tablet: no power or USB connected to the device.
2) Fire up the firmware update software on the PC, USB cable in and ready.
3) Select the ROM to update with in the software.
4) Plug in the USB cable to the tablet. At this point you should see the green battery charging image on the tablet.
5) Press power off for a couple of seconds (2-3). Tablet should now be turned off.
6) Fire up the software/ROM update on the PC.
If you see the updater flash through the first stages of the update and then seeming pause when doing the actual ROM update the tablet is on. Press power off again. You should then see the update actually loading onto the tablet. Should take about 5-10 minutes from there.
Luck...

Hi Des!
I follow your list and the tablet is rebooting every time! :crying:
I simply can't turn it off!
Any suggestion?
Thanks, Andrew
Hi,
Power it off first. When powered up press and hold the power button. Select Power off from the menu.
Get the laptop/PC ready with the image, plug the usb cable into the laptop/pc and then the tablet.
You should see the green battery icon on screen showing charge state.
When it has gone, press and hold the power again for about 2 seconds.
Then try the firmware update.
Des. . .
Hi,
Thanks for your help, but when I "press and hold the power again for about 2 second" the tablet is rebooting!
With a shorter power press i can switch the secreen on/off, but a longer press reboot it every time!
My battery icon is a big blue one, not a green one! Maybe i have a different version?
Model number: Lenovo A5500-H
Android: 4.4.2
Build number:A5500H_A442_00_025_141027_ROW
Hm?
Andrew
Hi,
All I can suggest is trial and error. It took me a a couple of goes to get it right.
But when you see that battery icon you know the device is on. Maybe a 1 second press? If I remember, you may feel a slight vibration to indicate that the tablet goes off. Soon as you feel that let go of the power button.
Mine was an A8-50 5500H but is now HV

Urgent Help - Keep booting into recovery

Hello
Please help, My oppo r7+ keep booting in to recovery. it shows wiping loading screen for 2 seconds and screen goes black. Please help.
Here is what I have done
Hello, I know how frustrating this is, I been playing with the files some of the good bodies from here share with me, my oppo R7plusm is totally death I don't even get to see the logo, I have manage to make the computer recognize the phone, however I'm still stucked and phone still death, and I do not have the time do play with this any more, I did not need a new phone, I'm (was) just fan of oppo phones (THANK YOU OPPO FOR MAKING A GREAT PIECE OF HARDWARE AND PIECE OF SH** SOFTWARE) you got one more unhappy client thanks to your st**ip way of making software without updates, poor follow up to international roms, bla bla..
Here is what I have done until now
Downloaded this kit that was shared from one of the users on this discussion: (note I cant post link directly since I'm new on this great forum) so you will have to put together this link: https : //docs . google . com/uc?id=0B8R7-aow-mrqT2pZYkIxMHdMcVE&export=download
1. you must uncompress the directories, I used 7zip is very good and not intrusive as other programs
2. you will find 2 directories (1. with usb qualcom drivers) and (2. oppo r7plus rom with a tool inside called Msm8x39Download Tool V1.6.7)
3. Install the qualcom usb drivers (please note: I don't know if is true or not, but is recommended to use a USB Port v2 not v3
4. Go to the room directory we unziped, and look for the tool called Msm8x39Download and right click on it, and run as administrator or uncheck the box that says protect)
5. once the application is running connect your death phone to the computer using a good usb cable
6. press the power button + volume up ad the same time, wait about 12 to 15 seconds until you see your phone is listed on the program list
7. there is a button that says Verify (you can click on this and see if all the files are correct) note: the checking takes about 1 minutes so wait until it finish you will see a popup windows with the results (to be honest with you I don't know why most of the say OK, except system.img and userdata.img says fails (I'm assuming this is the reason I have not been able to revive my phone)
8. However to reinstall the corrupted files on your phone you must click on the button that says Start (note: you must keep checked the After-sales upgrade moc) once you click start you will see the program runs and show a green bar loading something (when it finish if you are lucky enough you will get your phone back to live)
AS I SAID in the begining I have not been able to recover my, after the green bar finish loading the program says waiting for usb to be connected?? if somebody in the world is kind enough or happen to know how to fix this problem please help, there are thing that you do just for the love of it.
I will keep trying when I get a chance to do it, if I manage to recover it I will make a video with instructions to do it, however if someone else discover a better or easy way please share
