Xoom on ICS not seeing my phones adhoc network....help? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is an older Motorola Cliq that is rooted and using adxlmod rom/kernal, Xoom is running Eos nightly 17. When I was running Tiamat Moray 2.2.2 I had no problem with tethering from my phone, but having no luck with any Eos ICS builds. Can anyone offer any suggestions that might help?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] need a rogers nexus s setup help

Hi all,
I got a Nexus S a few days ago. It was an original rogers phone that was working on ATT in the US for the last month.
The phone is rooted. But it is not working properly on Rogers (Apparently it worked fine on ATT).
Does anyone have a rooted rogers Nexus S that is working properly on 3G?
If so, what are you running for ROM, Radio, CWM, etc?
Thanks in advance,
I have been pulling my hair trying to get this fixed.

Rogers Wireless Nexus S
Rom: SuperAOSP 8.0 Android 2.3.4
Build #: GRJ22
Baseband: NO DGSXXKD1
Kernel: Netarchy Nexus S 1.3.0.12 CFS 2.3.4
Recovery: Clockwork Mod v 3.0.2.4
Runs perfect on Rogers here in Vancouver. Check your other thread to see if the radio i posted fixes your 3G problem. It happened to me too when i originally flashed SuperAOSP, but finding the right radio will definitely fix it.
I have an I9020a running on Rogers. I've run stock, cyanogenmod, and a couple other custom ROMs without any loss of 3G. I am currently using CM Nightly 84.
I've also experimented with the various NS radios available and haven't experienced any loss of 3G connectivity. I am currently using the 2.3.4 radio.
Have you checked your APN settings to make sure that you have the Roger's access points inputted?
Thanks for your responses, Guys.

MZ601 and Tiamat katana

Couple of quick questions.
Is Tiamat Katana compatible with the Australian 3g MZ601 xoom? (is rooted and CMR installed). Currently running rooted stock 3.1 (Australian 3.1 not US)
If so, will it break our 3G and fully working read write sd card?
If not, is there a standalone overclock app (have setcpu already and max's out at 1GHZ)
Thanks .
katana is for android 3.2 only. It will not work on android 3.1.

Good point, my bad.. That being said, let me ask the same questions then but this time regards to Tiamat 1.4.4.
What i am really after is the stand alone over clock capability as setcpu on it's own does not go higher than 1GHZ.
Any ideas?

Issues with Wifi

I just flashed the Moray ROM and now my Wifi is stuck scanning/authenticating forever. I have been looking over the forums and have had little luck finding a related post. Thanks for any help.
EDIT: I am on a US Wifi Only Xoom 3.2.1 running Tiamat 2.2.2 Moray.

What did you flash Moray 2.2.2 on top of? Were you coming from the stock rom or from Moray 2.2.1? It matters, because flashing Moray 2.2.2 over anything but an earlier version will definately require a "wipe data/factory reset" in CWM recovery.
Also, did you restore any system apps/settings/data from Titanium Backup after you flashed the rom? If you did, you could overwrite something critical to your wifi.

[Q] Which directions for rooting (ICS OTA) Xoom MZ600?

Trying to figure out how to install CyanogenMod on my Xoom MZ600 (ICS Verizon OTA Upgraded) tablet. I searched several links on xda-forums which seem to apply to the xoom2 and xyboard which I (don't think) I have. I also found "Rooting WiFi xoom" on xda-forums but when I got there, it talks about and update for model MZ604 and my UPC sticker says "MZ600". I searched for rooting mz600 in the xda Xoom forum, and found "OUTDATED" guide. I then checked out the CM wiki which gives instructions for installing CM for "Wingray" but I'm not sure if Wingray is "Xoom" or "Xoom2" -- it only says Wi-Fi which presumably, the Xoom2 also has? Gaaahh!. Where is the correct place to go to find correct info for rooting my mz600 with ICS Verizon OTA update? ICS is way to slow for me and turned tablet into useless. I want to put on CM9 or CM7 on it. Thanks!
Hi,
I think you can try giving a look at our device FAQ It may answer lots of your questions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145522
Hey,
I followed the FAQ yesterday and was able to root and flash my Xoom(MZ602) with success! I used the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088705 JB MR1 4.2 Stingray MZ604 Verizon 4G LTE. I would recommend it if you have a 4g Xoom as opposed to the Wingray because, if I am not mistaken, Wingray is for the WiFi only Xoom...someone with more experience might be able to verify.
Whatever you go with be sure you backup before you flash the ROM, it is never a bad idea to backup!
Good luck you won't regret it!
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
wingray is the wifi xoom

[Q] [XOOM 2] A question for ROM of XOOM2

As I have a XOOM 2 running Android 4.0.4, I'm searching for further update for this device.
I found that the EOS Team has released Android 4.1.2 nightly build for XOOM, but not the XOOM 2 version.
Actually I haven't seen any 4.1.2 build for XOOM 2. So I want to ask,
can I use XOOM rom on the XOOM 2? if Not, is there any stable room for XOOM 2 in the entire forum?
if there is, i hope that you will send me a link of the thread.
thx for your help!
No
I Dont know much about the xoom 2 but the bootloader was never unlocked therefore no custom roms thats why theres no dev support

I've recently received a Xoom 2 but it's running 3.2.2 , You've updated it or it was the original version came from the company?
another interesting matter is that I've not seen any motorola device managers that support Xoom 2!

Tablet is upgradeable directly from Motorola to version 4.0.4 (versions can be checked e.g. https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1994). Some time ago in some language version there were not clearly stated, that 4.0.4 would be the last version for Xoom2, but now it seems that it is.
Device manager at least for US version: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_detail/a_id/78644/p/7901,8197

I think the device was just not owned as many due to XOOM.
