I was trying to install Cognition 4.5.3 on my Samsung GalaxyS Captivate i897. I followed the instructions up to the point of installing ClockworkMod Rom Manager.
I re-flashed back to Android 2.1 (Elcair), and ClockworkMod Rom Manager is not in the marketplace. I did the Samsung Kies Update to 2.2, and then all of a sudden ClockworkMod Rom Manager is available.
Well, I had to re-root the phone with SuperOneClick, and then installed the ClockworkMod Rom Manager, and continued to follow the instructions.
I told ClockworkMod Rom Manager that I had a Samsung GalaxyS Captivate, and then to Install Rom from SD Card. When it rebooted, I went to "reinstall packages" and it crashes with
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
e:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any ideas?

I now have superuser permissions on my Samsung Showcase From Cellular South When i go to the rom manager it only seems to let me flash the clockworkmod recov under galaxy s facinate can i use the others ????? also when i go to BACK UP CURRENT ROM it tells me that its ganna do it it roboots then it starts to install package and i receive this

I bricked my fitst galaxy and it was rooted, but manufactures warranty covered the brick. Cellular South

Runnin stock 2.2 on rogers captivate. I want to install miui.beta 7. So i installed clockwork from rom manager. When i booted to recovery and tried to reinstall packages verification failed. From reading i was in 3e. So do i have to use odin to go stock 2.1 then boot in recov then install miui
so my phone is rooted and have downloaded the darkey Rom and next Rom manager but when i go to recovery mode and try to update the zip file its giving error saying "signature verification failed" so what's the reason and how to solve it my galaxy s is running on 2.3.3 firmware xxjvk

Ok so this is what i did.
1. i rooted my phone with z4root.apk
2. i downloaded rom manager off the market and installed the recovery mode
3.i put update.zip on the sd (the cyanogen rom zip)
4. cleared cach/factory reset
5. install from zip..... then
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
Im using clockwork mod v5.0.0.6
clockwork recovery v2.5.1.2

I am new to the world of rooting and flashing but seriously wanted to have a new ROM for my Galaxy S2 GTI9100 bought in Dubai. It is running on GINGERBREAD.JPKG2. I had rooted this somehow (not through ODIN) and has super user access now. Have installed the ROM Manager but could not get the CWM to work. When I Reboot into Recovery", It says "E Signature failed" and aborted. I also have copied Resurrection remix ROM into the SD memory but cannot flash it to update the OS as it says the same error. Can somebody guide me what exactly is happening?
