LG: Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade due for 11 phones - Android General

latimes.com:
"LG has detailed its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich plans and 11 of its smartphones are due for the update to the latest Google mobile operating system.
The updates will begin in the "second and third quarters of 2012, which will be followed by a global rollout," LG said on its company Facebook page on Monday. "During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse.
"These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX."
Not all LG Android phones will get the upgrades. Noticeably absent from the list was AT&T's recently released LG Nitro HD, T-Mobile's LG G2X and the LG Thrill 4G.
However, these phones may yet get the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade since they are rebranded versions of phones that are scheduled for updates. The Nitro HD is a rebranded version of the Optimus LTE, the G2X is a redubbed Optimus 2X, and the Thrill 4G is a renamed Optimus 3D.
Also missing from the list was the dual-screen LG DoublePlay and T-Mobile's LG MyTouch, which is largely the same phone as the MyTouch Q but without the MyTouch Q's sliding keyboard, and G-Slate tablet.
Officials at LG were not available Tuesday to comment on the upgrade status of the Nitro HD, G2X, Thrill 4G, DoublePlay, T-Mobile MyTouch and G-Slate.
"The exact start dates can vary by market, as each country can have different requirements, depending on the carrier and the smartphone model," LG said in its statement. "Further details on the ICS OS upgrade, including their exact start dates, will be released prior to their commencement." "

[Q] (AT&T) Nitro HD (Bell/SKT/LGU) Optimus LTE

Optimus LTE under South Korea's SKT & LGU
BELL's Optimus LTE and AT&T's Nitro HD are coming out sooooon.
any chance a fora would be added for 'em?????????
hoping to see some CM9 ICS projects or likes of it if enough people get their hands on them.
cuz we all know LG's software ability is no where near their phone hardware build.
this phone's pretty nice except its internal storage being 4GB only.... i'm planning to take out the bundle 16GB microSD and putting in class10 32GB one...
well, the only nicest thing about this phone is LG's 500 nit "TRUE HD" (AH ??)-IPS 4.5 inch 1280x720 display.............
and well, i know LG will probably take like 6 months or more to finally get ICS on this thing................
so i was just wondering if there are any potential devs for Optimus LTE / Nitro HD

LG Singapore confirms Android 4.0 update for a variety of Optimus models

Some owners of LG Optimus handsets might be asking where their Android 4.0 update is. LG Singapore has decided to take the time to announce that Android 4.0 is coming to the LG Optimus 2X, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus 3D, LG Prada 3.0, and LG Optimus LTE. No date was given as to when the updates might be sent out except to say that they will be received by owners of those devices "in due time".
The LG Optimus 2X is getting Android 4.0 says LG Singapore
The whole Ice Cream Sandwich update process has been a headache for LG customers. For example, while the LG Optimus 2X is getting updated, its U.S. variant, the T-Mobile G2x, is not. We can't even say for certain whether or not the updates confirmed by LG Singapore are just for those particular models in Singapore.
About a couple of weeks ago, a tweet from LG confirmed that the LG Optimus 2X would be updated to Android 4.0, but only in South Korea. The tweet noted that the update was still being tested. Before that, LG Canada confirmed the update for LG Optimus 2X owners in that country. LG Optimus LTE owners in both South Korea and Canada were also told to expect Android 4.0.
Frankly, the way that LG has informed customers and others about its plans for the Ice Cream Sandwich updates has not been clear. Instead of having LG regional offices make statements, one dispatch from the suits in South Korea could clear up any confusion
