Hi !
I was looking for a way to add more pages to android home, I use the sense interface and it has some many widget that I think that it's a shame to use just 7 ..
Also I was looking to a way to change background to the all app menu ( I know that probably isn't possible but I really can't understand the thing of the black background...)
any help ?!
Try a different launcher - most of the third party replacement launchers let you configure the number of home screens, backgrounds, etc.
Just open up the Market and search for "launcher" - Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, Zeam Launcher and ADW Launcher are popular ones - have a play with them until you find one you like!
emh actually I forgot to mention that I would like to do this with htc sense....so I think that those app can't help me !

You might consider sending a pm to CookieMonster. He did things with HTC Sense on Windows Mobile that nobody including HTC could do.
He doesn't seem to be around much anymore but here is his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792303 Maybe someone from his team may have some thoughts.

i know but I doubt that he would like to work on this considering that hasn't been active for a while. anyway I'll give it a try.
and yes manila was much more better in my opinion...android is to close and some of its properties are bad...it's not possible to have a menu app with forced black background...also the stories of only 7 pages is stupid...
No customization at all !!
I use adw launcher and its great. You can change the icons on the bottom row along with a main button. You can change the amount of icons that are horizonal and vertical. Change scrooling all kinds of cool stuff.
Here is the .apk. Not sure if any other files need to go with it as I havent installed it in awhile.
Numerous different ones. I actually might try something different.

does it work in combination with sense ?
sadly I'm still without solution
Sorry if this the wrong forums.
I'd really like a shortcut to phone log I can add to the static part of the screen.
I hardly ever use the phone to dial, just calling old numbers, is there any way to get this?
(Yes I realize it's incredibly lazy not to want to open phone and tap the log section, but that's why I got android, it makes it posible to skip unnessesary steps like this.)
Very happy if someone can help or know an app that does this?
Thanks
EASY!

Howdy Dude,
if you are running ADW you can.
1. long press on desktop
2. select add custom shortcut
3. press pick activity
4. press activities
5. scroll down to contacts
6. expand contacts, then find
7. call log(.callslist.RecentCallsListActiviy)
8. press ok and the shortcut will be on one of your home screens
it's prety cool it doesn't show the 4 buttons at the botom just the list on the screen.
you can do this on most launchers from the market i think. i use adw tho so yeah.
hope that helps.
Pvy.
Sorry, forgot to say, I'm on wolfbreaks 3.9.0 as of right about now.
You think it's posible to use adw with this rom?
Thanks
Edit, it does and it's amazing, I can even get a 100% clean home screen, very happy with this, thanks a lot!

Anyone had any luck changing the LCD density on the ICS leak? I tried it using LCD Modder Pro and it resulted in a soft brick.

I'm trying LCD Resolution, it says it needs busybox installed.
I go to the market and try to get an installer for busybox, and apparently market is broken for me - I can't download anything from it. Updates work fine, but can't get anything new.
I've been unsuccessful in getting the LCD resolution to change. I tried LCD Resolution with no change (no soft brick though). Also tried modifying the build.prop directly, that resulted in a soft brick.
I resolved my market broken issue (just reinstalled ICS through odin).
Going to try it after my nandroid backup is done. Fingers crossed!
EDIT:
On further thought and some googling, a lot of the LCD density changing apps on the market have disclaimers about it not working on certain devices, or ICS. So I would actually be surprised if the ways of doing it on 2.3.5 will work on 4.0+
EDIT:
Alright, gave it a shot. It won't work. In fact, some of the icons appear larger. Didn't break my phone at all though, just a quick reboot and it was back to normal. I'm going to keep trying different ways.

I haven't been able to get it yet..
I'm hoping that once the custom ROMs start rolling out I'll be able to figure it out. I'm good at getting into those and changing things, but I'm bad at manipulating just my phone.
---------- Post added at 11:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 PM ----------
Yeah editing the build file just gave me a soft brick as well.. bummer.
EDIT:
I tried adding a new line to the build.prop - My phone appeared to soft brick, and when I was trying to boot it into CWM it somehow booted up. But nothing had changed. Weird..
Also the apps on the market that claim to work with ICS don't for me.
Also, I heard that the Galaxy S II folks had this weird issue of there being TWO LINES that you needed to change... but from what I could tell (I looked over the file very carefully) there is only that one line.
i got the lcd density to change, use rom toolbox pro and changed it to 200 in the build tweaks section

WORKED. Going to check it with 160 (what I used). Excellent find man, thanks!!
EDIT: Ah my phone is so beautiful now. Works perfectly, now if I can only figure out how the app is getting the job done.. haha
That worked perfectly. I was trying to change it for hours. Thanks! I am using 160 too. Looks great, better than with Gingerbread!
What exactly does changing this do?
This changes the resolution of your screen.
ROM Toolbox did the trick, thanks.

Ahh, thank you. Saved me! I did not want to revert back to GB, but do not enjoy a senior friendly UI either!
Ok, I tried this and not sure what is going on.
When I do, the icons get smaller, but instead of using all the screen realestate, I have a large section of unused space that I can't do anything with.
What am I missing or what am I doing wrong?
After you've changed the density, you'll want to change the number of columns/rows of your launcher to make use of the extra space.
Awesome! Rooted up my skyrocket on ICS! First root for me on my first android! And just got my skyrocket yesterday!
I changed mine to 200, it's way better this way. I did it through the rom toolbox as suggested.
There is a small lag though going back to the home screen, are you guys experience this as well?
Any suggestions on fixing the dial pad? I've done some searching and it seems most of the fixes aren't for us.. yet.

You change it in your launcher settings. I'd highly recommend Nova launcher. It acts like the AOSP ICS launcher (with the widgets section integrated into the app drawer). By default the desktop space is 4 rows by 4 columns, but you can change this. I'm experimenting with what works for me with a 160 density.

Thanks, that helped, now how do I create folders in Nova launcher? Can't figure this out for the life of me.
EDIT:
Nevermind, figured it out, it's like the iOS way of creating folders. Just drag and drop 1 app onto another.
Hmm, noticed that the disagree didn't resize either. Can anyone recommend a good dialer?
Exdialer is great.

There are some minor bugs that clearly show HTC's quality control department sucks However, this new update also brought some interesting features. Lets share them here.
p.s. Please dont state obvious things like UI feels smooth or my phone lasts longer etc. Lets try to share discoveries and things that are new in terms of functionality and might be unknown.
1. When you use volume button controls and the notification appears you can tap the speaker to change the profile and put the phone in silent or vibrate mode
2. Email client tabs can be configured just like in Sense 4.0 , you can remove/add tabs or rearrange them
3. Weather app can be configured to show you the weather on your lock screen in the morning This one is pretty cool
4. You can encrypt your SD card content, its quite useful if you are paranoid about your data (Please note that after you do this you cant use face unlock and dots)
These are the things that I found so far. Feel free to share your own findings

Nothing but incompatibilities and removed features (such as combining notification volume and ring tone)
planning to migrate back to a gingerbread rom with sense 3.6 if I can find..
Really? I can't imagine going back to GB, too many things I'd miss. There isn't a single thing I can think of that GB did better than ICS, maybe you haven't found the right rom?
I like that now you can drag one shortcut over another, creating a new link folder. saves a lot of screen space and finally i have all my games under a few folder icons, not on two screens
Still wish though for two things:
flexible layout, ot 4x5 or 5x5 instead of 4x4 (so much screen wasted on the sensation)
horizontal mode for the home screen (afaik for models with a physical keyboard it is possible, so why not for the regular phone eludes me).
There is no face unlock.?

Try Nova launcher. I set my screen density to 200 and switched the home grid to 5x4. Really digging the look of it.
I believe Trebuchet should also have grid options.

The problem with 3rd party launchers is that you cant disable sense launcher on stock and not rooted devices. It just sits there eating about 46mb of RAM. You think you're making your device faster where in reality you're not
@Wolfenstein
Folder creation comes from ICS but I agree space is really wasted with current layout. Good thing they included a small weather/clock widget

In my opinion, Apex launcher is a more complete package than Nova launcher (even though Nova launcher is quite good).
It includes slightly more detailed stuff such as more home screen animations. But i guess in the end it all comes down to preference.

Plus one for Apex. More features, and free - although I did pay for Nova Prime, not really sure why. Drawer transparency and vertical paginated for the win.

I think that, just as with GingerBread and HoneyComb that will not be possible if you stay stock - Google seem to think that EVERYBODY needs 5 or 7 home screens. I'm with you - I only need one for my purposes.
The only way you will achieve what you want is by installing a separate launcher running on top of your system - most of these have the ability to customise the number of screens.
Install a replacement launcher - Nova, Apex or whatever. Nice and simple. Plus you will also be able to remove the search box, change the grid size and much more.

Without knowing exactly which AOKP ROM you are running on your Galaxy S Plus I am unable to do the same thing as you ought to do. Search the ROM thread in your Dev forum and if you genuinely can't find the answer then post a question in your device's Q&A forum to ask there.

sorry for necroposting, but actually you can delete unwanted screens on stock ics, and i quote
How to remove/delete unused android home screens:
Method one:
Place two fingers on any home screen and drag in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction.
All active home screens will appear and you can drag any unused screens to the trash.
You can also restore deleted home screens the same way by clicking the giant plus sign on the deleted home screen icon.
Method two:
From your main (center) home screen, press menu and choose edit.
