tgps_laucher parsing error after downgrade 1.4.0 - General Questions and Answers

after reverting back with acclaim_update.zip to 1.4.0 I'm unable to install tgps_launcher.apk or AppMenu.apk to enable usb debugging to re-root it. anyone having this issue or next idea? thanks in advance.
device history:
1. rooted on 1.4.0
2. did not know about update 1.4.1 coming down to blocked it and it updated automagically
3. Tried up/down hold power 8 times for factor default but still went back to 1.4.1. (appears to have also updated the recovery partition if there is one)
4. Installed acclaim_update.zip but when it reboot the "n" was not functioning. factory defaulted again using "n"/power 8 times.
5. register device and download tgps_launcher.apk and AppMenu.apk but error on following choices.
App installer: Unable to install This application was not able to install onto your device. Please "Archive" and then "Unarchive" the application to try again.
package installer: Parse error There is a problem parsing the package.
I did not unroot but was experiencing dead spots on my display like an annoyance bug while using sudoku. Thinking of taking it back to barnes if they can't play nice

[Q] [SOLVED] com.google.process.gapps stopped working

System Specs:
TF101
Android Version: 4.1.1 (now 4.1.2)
Kernel Version: 2.6.39.4 CyanogenMod RaymanFX DHD (now 2.6.39.4ASUS [email protected] #1 Sat Oct 13 19:34:10 CEST 2012)
CyanogenMod Version 10-20120916-UNOFFICIAL-tf101 (now 10-20121013-UNOFFICIAL-tf101)
Problem
com.google.process.gapps stops working
What I have done so far:
Cleared cache
Cleared davlik cache
Removed Gmail account and re-added
Disabled ALL sync options
What I did to get here:
Installed TWRP (replaced Clockwork Recovery)
Installed CM10
Installed GooManager (for gapps)
Restored ALL apps I had/wanted back from the Play store
This problem occured immediately after I finished installing all apps. I dont know what one app might have caused this. I am trying to avoid a factory reset, but it seems this may not be avoidable at this current step. My question is, what else is there I can do short of a factory reset?
EDIT 1: just found out the GAPPS i am using is for 4.1.2. Would this cause the issue since i am on Android 4.1.1?
EDIT 2: Re-flashed the GAPPS from GooManager and it seems to be working better. I will update after testing it throughout my 24 hour duty.
EDIT 3: I let it go to "sleep" and when i woke it up, the process failed again.
EDIT 4: Used another version of GAPPS for Tegra. Now trebuchet crashes after going to sleep. Seems the GAPPS is the cause of the problem. Is there a stable version for my device and CM10? The latest crashes the com.process.google.gapps and the later crashes trebuchet
.
EDIT 5: After a night of troubleshooting, I found out i was using version B3 instead of V6 of CM10. Thus the Android version of 4.1.1 instead of 4.1.2. I just flashed V6 to my tablet and now I am testing the device for compatibility with the first version of GAPPS that i had installed earlier. I will post results after my tests.
EDIT 6: So far so good, everything seems to be running normally. I have not had any problems for the last five hours. I hope this fixed my problem
EDIT 7: So after waking up to my tablet sleeping, i woke it and the process failed again. Is there a compadible GAPPS zip out there somewhere?
EDIT 8: Ok, so I decided to do a factory wipe, install CM10 V6 fresh. Then install google apps filename "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip" Seems that the google apps keeps failing. I even unchecked all the sync options and didn't put my account in until after i installed the google apps. At this time there are NO apps installed other than the default CM and GAPPS. I am officially stumped. HELP PLEASE!
EDIT 9: I did a factory wipe, no re-install of CM10 or GAPPS, just a standard wipe followed by clearing both caches. Upon reboot it wanted my credentials for google. Seems to be working ok, meaning it GAPPS is not crashing at this current moment. However, it has dropped WiFi on me while it went to sleep and came back. I told it to not turn WiFi off when it sleeps, but alas, it seems to be broken. Also, it lockes up randomly, and the only way to recover is to hold the power button to turn it off and then reboot. Thoughts?
EDIT 10: Changed to the nightlys from CM and updated to the most recent GAPPS. Everything is working great. Minus some of the things that have already been mentioned. My lock screen disappears ever so often. Also, I have noticed that when not charging, the tablet will shut down at 49% when sleeping. I don't know if that is a feature of the CM10, but it is annoying. I have yet to have any random lock ups, but some of my apps won't work anymore. I have noticed that some apps will work one moment, the next it will have a video failure, but the sound will continue and the process will continue. Just the video display will be stuck on one image. For example, Jetpack Joyride does this. Also, Song Pop Free will not work, among some other apps. So, I guess I have to wait for a Jelly Bean update for some of these apps.
I've had a similar issue with gapps, usual provoked by accessing gmail or maps however I did have the same issue with the stock rom.

I appreciate the info, was this with ICS or Jelly Bean? I am assuming with your stock you mean ICS. Am I missing something about GAPPS? Is there a better compatible build for this?
.. just go to the settings and then click on the application manager and then click on all and then scroll to download manager and enable it if it is disabled. .......Thanks. ....

4. On the Drop down menu there's a notification that says "Please install MDM" - i tried installing MDM but when the app is installed it prompts for a "company site code"
Possible Solutions that already tried
1. Restored the phone to it's original state on Device Recovery Mode (Factory Reset) nothing happened
2. Flashed a custom rom (OCHIE ROM) but still the "Please install MDM" on the drop down prompts it and same issues, Cam+MMC+BT restricted
3. Flashed custom kernel (Berzebb), nothing happened "Please install MDM" on the drop down prompts it and same issues, Cam+MMC+BT restricted

[Q] (Google Play Store) Error retrieving information from server [RPC:S-7 :AEC-7]

Greetings,
I had some issues uninstalling xposed on my HTC One M8 that was recently updated to lollipop so I reverted back to a stock lollipop rom directly from Telus. Every time I try and download an app from the Play Store I get the following message.
"nameofapp" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7 :AEC-7])
This is what I have tried so far:
- Clear cache on Google Play Services (Framework) and Google Play Store
- removed update from Google Play Store
- updated Play Store manually to newest APK
- rebooted in between these steps
- removed Google Account + cleared cache + all data for all Google Apps and services
Sometimes when I reboot it will let me update or download 1-3 apps, then it will just bring back that error. I'm at a loss as to what I should try as googling this error brings up the same solutions every single time. Other then this issue the phone itself appears to be functioning properly. My phone is unlocked and rooted but I do not have xposed or any other custom mods running. I'm also using the latest version of TWRP. I have also noticed that sometimes when I disconnect from wifi and attempt to download from 4G the download actually goes through. Not exactly a solution as I have limited data available to me. Any ideas?

Flash GApps via TWRP. If it doesn't help, bring your phone back to full stock, including flashing firmware + rom and make sure to format systen + data partition
before flashing the new rom.

Thanks for the help. I tried to flash the google apps but TWRP kept giving me errors that the package wasn't compatible with my phone. I located a nandroid of Telus lollipop stock and flashed that after I have formatted the system and data partitions as you have recommended. I dont believe I needed to do firmware as I have never had anything but stock firmware on the device. Everything appears to be functioning now as I can download and update from the play store once again.
Out of curiosity are you able to tell me why I encountered that issue? I cant seem to find exactly what that error even means. While i'm still very new to the android scene with flashing custom roms and device modification I have never once had that issue.
that is a "host" error, using a file manager, go to your /system/etc folder, open the "hosts" file, as a text file, and erase all.. except the local host:
Sorry bad english

Marshmallow update failing

6045l downloads the update fine but once it starts the update, the phone reboots (shows the startup screen) then goes blank (LCD is backlit but nothing on it). It sits like that for a few minutes before apparently shutting off. Restarts fine but update then can't be verified and had to download all over again. Did this like 10 times yesterday. I guess I can do a factory reset but was really hoping to avoid it for now.
the same probleme man and i don't know why
try using the mobile upgrade q 5.0.0
Doesn't the mobile upgrade q also essentially perform a factory reset? I'll give it a shot once I have time to reinstall everything.

Use the Mobile Update Q to reset back to stock if you're rooted and want to update. If you're rooted you won't be able to install MM update.

Or temporally unroot in supersu and upgrade to MM. That's how I did it. You will lose root though, since fast boot commands have been disabled in MM from Alcatel.

I read about that and was a bit disappointed, but that's normal. I have the 6045o so I've got a while to wait.
Encrypted
I too am having this issue.
I suspect that recovery cannot access the update file as it was downloaded to the encrypted portion of the device.
The workaround I've seen elsewhere is to use adb sideload, which is fine (Alcatel even makes it easy to get that far!) but I have yet to find the update.zip file that gets downloaded in order to sideload it.

I am on the same boat. I would like to sideload it because whenever I do use the system update, it updates for a few a minute or two. The status bar gets to about 30% or so and it refuses to go further. It then proceeds to put me into the recovery menu. So if anyone can find the update boot image for MM, that would be really helpful. I've considered rooting my phone again to get CM 13 but the only version I can find is an unofficial release and supposedly it won't read your SIM card as a huge bug.
I've unrooted my device just to get this MM update. Not really sure what the problem is other than it creating an issue with the current boot image or a faulty kernel
Upgrade will not resume
The upgrade download began. The green circle with the green arrow appeared showing how much was downloaded. It froze at 92%. This may have occurred because I did not have enough storage space to download the full upgrade. I uninstalled several apps to create space. I am now showing 1.20 gb available space. Is that enough?
After a reboot, the formerly green circle and the arrow are now red. The circle is 92% complete. The message (in red) instructs me to press the arrow inside the circle to resume. When I do that, I am returned to the "About phone" menu in Settings. I am unable to cause the download to resume.
What should I do next?
Thank you.

The update itself is 1.2GB. I would free up some more space.

Weird App behaviour after upgrade to 11

Hello
Info:
Updated recently to 11 using full factory image with wipe (with - w flag).
Rooted with Magisk (canary update channel, see images)
Patched clean boot file and flashed with fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
All good.
Problem: trying to open a .docx file from storage with M$ Word. Screen goes black and phone restarts. On first restart I get the dreaded "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset. Luckily try again does boot my phone.
Attempted solution: remove and reinstall word - click uninstall -" the app wasn't found in the list of installed apps" - see image.
Went to play store to reinstall - only have "open" button - when clicked, screen goes black and back to "cannot load android system" screen ?
Any ideas/advice much appreciated
Many thanks
*Update*
Couldn't resolve via normal methods -
Used App Inspector (UBQSoft) from playstore to see if M$ Word showed up in there and it did:
From there, clicked the cog wheel to go through to "App Info" screen and was able to successfully uninstall from there.
Installed the Office full suite as a work around and am now able to open the document as needed.
Any thoughts or info still appreciate - especially if anyone has had a similar bug, even with different apps.
Many thanks ?
Further Update
So, I've gone back to the same document about an hour after being able to open it - same prob, screen goes black, phone restarts to "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset"
Tried open again from within Files,
got message "none of you apps can open this file"
I have office installed - see images.
I think I'm going to go back to Android 10 - this is quite the inconvenience for the time being
Not sure if it's 11, Magisk or kernel (using the latest EXKM)
but it's system UI that keeps crashing - I cleared out storage and cache as I am currently unable to uninstall Office, even via App Inspector.
*Solved*
Removed one of my Outlook/Micro$oft accounts to which Word and Office were both previously syncing - removed Office via playstore Uninstall button and rebooted phone.
Tested opening the same document both from Files, SolidExplorer and from within Word, opens for editing no probs and performs as expected.
Root and EXKM still installed and fine.
Sorry for multiple updates, just thought it might be useful for anyobe with similar issues.
