Hey guys, I'm stuck on the SuperOneClick program. I followed all the steps successfully but then when I click unroot it goes up to "STARTING ADB SERVER - *daemon not running, starting it now..." then it just freezes there and doesn't do anything.
I have debugging on*

Try uninstalling drivers then reinstall them, should do the trick. Also did you install apx driver before trying to unroot?

Are you trying to unroot Froyo or Gingerbread. SuperOneClick does not work on Gingerbread from what has been posted.

Hi guys. I'm totally new at this rooting and all. I tried rooting my Galaxy S II so heres what happened.
I used Odin v1.85 and that worked out perfectly. But when i used SuperOneClick v2.1.1 to root afterwards, it goes up to "waiting for device" and hangs out and the next thing i see is that the SuperOneClick is not responding. I have all the things required like .NET Framework 2.0/Samsung Kies 2.0
I also had no choice cause i dont have any SD card in my phone to try the other process.
I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out here. Thanks
Check out your phone specific threads. There should be step by step guides there

Well I've tried this guide but sadly, like always, gets stuck in "waiting for device" and then not responding and then I have to force close SuperOneClick

uninstall super one click then try flashing with ODIN.
Ensure you have USB debugging enabled.

Make sure:
a. Kies is installed but not running
b. USB debugging is on (Settings>Applications>Development)
Well, Kies is installed and USB Debugging Mode is on. But still it does not work. I have done all things step by step but doesn't work.
Will flashing with Odin do the same thing (I mean like rooting) ?
Maybe your USB drivers need updating. KIES has the option to update drivers - or you can download drive and app from PDAnet.
With your phone plugged in to USB (debugging on), can you -adb devices- and see your phone? If not the you have a driver problem.
With the drivers fixed everything else should work for rooting the device.

Start from the beginning if all else fails...
Flash to stock with Odin, make sure you have the correct drivers installed and debugging mode is active. Then try super one click again... If that fails again, try tonroot manually by reinstalling the update.zip package

My phone's running on 2.3.3 gingerbread. If this cannot be rooted then why is there a guide to it ? :S

Hi,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2/ GT-I9000
Android: 2.3.3
Baseband: I9100XXKDJ
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513
[email protected] #2
I wanted to root the phone and i have followed this thread to the letter: [Guide] And then there was ROOT.
So i did everything;
-I flashed the kernel (XWKDD) succesfully.
-Phone reboots.
-Opening SuperOneClick; pressing ROOT. (phone still connected)
...And then it just does nothing.
It hangs @: Waiting for device.
As soon as I try to click something, like minimize window, it stops responding.
My device is in debugging-mode (as required for ODIN, reboot -> Still debug, so that's not the problem).
I'm really out of answers..
I don't know how to get it working..
Remember, i followed everything by the letter..
Until the root-part with superoneclick... It just won't let me...
Anyone got any answers?

Why not post this issue on the SuperOneClick thread? Get the latest version of SuperOneClick then try again. I think they just fixed something major.

open the superoneclick, with the USB debugging off, when the
superoneclick says waiting for device you turn USB debugging on.
and it works
ah, i forgot!!! Install the previous version of superoneclick.
I install the version 1.9.5 i think, and yes its old but it works
Great news. -1Day roots AT&T Motorola Atrix4G!!! YAY!
11/29/2010:
I'm sorry I haven't been updating lately!!! The problem is, I no longer have an Android phone and I can't play around or test anymore. I'm going to see if I can find one on craiglist or ebay.
11/10/2010:
I finally figured out how to root without looping. After rooting 13 phones, this is how I did it on the first try.
Turn USB Debugging OFF
Click Root
When it says: Waiting for Device, Turn USB Debugging ON
It'll now run RATC
When it says: Starting ADB Server...
Turn USB Debugging OFF
Turn USB Debugging ON
Turn USB Debugging OFF
All BEFORE it says "Waiting for device..." again

Like the title says I need help rooting this phone. It's a 2.3.5 Gingerbread Android version.
I tried SuperOneClick but the program stops responding after:
"Killing ADB Server"
"Starting ADB Server"
*daemon not running. starting now on port 5037*
*daemon started successfully*
After that...nothing. Just freezes.
I also tried DoomLord's ZergRush Root but I get the same "Daemon started successfully* and nothing after that.
USB debugging is turned on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi man, have you succeeded in the meantime to root this phone. I've got the same issue and need the help!
Hello, i wanted to root my P500, and someone told me i must install drivers, but the LG mobile support tool doesn't recognize my device when i connect it, any advices?
There are many guides on rooting in general section. Read carefully about rooting, basebands and recovery.. these are the most essential things.
Install new usb drivers.. you can find it on lg website. Restart PC. Check the option.. Usb debugging in phone.
Ok i got it donw for the drivers now, but, when i open SuperOneClick, and select GingerBreak metod, it prints some text on the program, after *daemon started sucessfully*, OK, waiting for device.. it freezes up,and the program doesn't respond so i must close it,any ideas??

Looks like you need the proper ADB drivers. You can find them on Motorola's site or I think you can now use Koush's new Universal ADB drivers for all android devices. Report back after installing the drivers
