Does anyone else have a problem with the sidekick 4g screen not responding to touch sometimes, and goes crazy, I have to lock and unlock just to touch the screen?

Yep, I see that same issue, I think it may be the touch driver crashing, but haven't had the time/motivation to test and find out if that's the actual issue.
I have that problem constantly. Go to answer a call and discover that the touch screen is dead despite the screen being on.

I've had the same issue, and I reserched it and did a few test it is the touch drivers crashing due to a lack of memory the 2.2.1 default leaks memory like a sive so use a task manager or memory booster or flash a new rom lol you'll see it stop

Oh okay I just downloaded memory booster full from black market, I only had 15% memory free and just got this rom, it free up a lot of memory from leaks I'm gonna see if I have his problem now

I've had constant problems with the touchscreen on the SK4G. Any amount of sweat/moisture and it didn't work properly, had phantom movements, etc. I put a screen protector on it and it's not so fidgity now, but my old G1 worked like a charm compared to this thing. I don't know why it's so bad... is this a different/cheaper/crappier touchscreen technology than the G1???

Did you turn the optical trackpad off? On mine it would always be going crazy when I took the phone outside on a bright sunny day.

I agree its not apple or microsoft, but do keep in mind that paid apps you don't have to buy and not buying an app and pirating it is like stealing from your locan mini mart it is open sorce not take what you want when you want an crook is a crook. Just like it isn't fair to charge you for "something to make your phone work" its not fair you take money out of a developers pockt, and no personal attacks just speaking truth.

Sorry to revive an old thread, thought I was going mental for a bit cause I just got this as a beater phone till my upgrade. But do I really need to use a TM to make this problem stop?
Yeah I've also seen its a driver problem. This happens a lot, unfortunately there is nothing we can do. Lock/unlock works but is very annoying.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Once in a while when I wake my phone, my homescreen appears for like half a second and then it will go to the lockscreen. It doesn't do this all the time but certainly more than half. It also happens using either stock or adw ex launcher. Can't think of why it would be doing this. Anyone got a fix or a reason as to why its even doing this?

Yup same. Slightly annoying. I think they will need to push out a software update soon to remedy some, if not all of the issues brought up by us early adopters. =)

yeah it does it here too but not quite sure why it bothers anyone it goes to lock screen faster than i can react after waking anyways. probably just a quicker freeze oif state when it goes to sleep than it should and doesnt have time to cahnge it over.
Its happen to mine as well. Funny thing is that I got my gf the sidekick 4g and it does the same thing

My Vibrant running stock Froyo does exactly the same thing. Flashes the home screen for about 1 second then goes to the lock screen. Odd but not really a problem.
My phone does this as well.
Mine does the same but not every time which I think is even weirder. Its not a big deal at all though just surprising.

I love the bright vivid colors on it we also have sms delivery reports. Its just overall great. I dont understand what all the complaints are about. Maybe because I. Have not experienced them at all. B-)

Yes, this phone is fantastic!!! when it's working... Most of the complaints on this forum are stability issues, with the addition of some units have screen bleed.
My 2 phones have some instability that require battery removal. I don't get any "force close"; it's fast, it seamlessly handles many aps, the camera is great, it makes wifi calls and does wifi tethers (never done that myself). The list of greatness goes on. And then my wife pulls it out of her purse when she's on call and it is locked up (no screen, no key response) and has been locked up for how long? My 2 phones do this, and a guy at work here has a G2x that does this occasionally. I have began over a week ago restarting my 2 phones once a day, and haven't had a lock up since. A couple of reboots, but I can live with that.

I actually love my phone as well. Never have had the phone do any of the issues that people have spoken about. I do miss the camera app that was on the software before the OTA update, but that is minuscule.

shall do my friend! Have had it for about 6-7 hours now and I love it. Display is fantastic (despite the digitizer haha) but phone won't make a sound or vibrate when text is received.. vibration and sound work everywhere else though. Even as I type. Rom wise I'm on eagles blood ics aosp right now and works fantastic. Came from cm9 though. Like eagles blood. How do you wipe the internal SD, without a computer, if possible?

Vibration might just be because of an app u downloaded. Some apps take control over that like some music apps and mms apps, Or you have to enable it in the messaging app settings. Also I'm no expert but can't u just delete everything with a file explorer? I just wiped everything recently so I can try again.
Edit: I think the internal SD is under mnt, emmc, so u can delete everything with a file manager. Someone nor knowledgeable should help you out with that. Btw, if u wanna see this phone fly, run Hellfire Phoenix

Yeah it is weird, on stock roms it recognizes the internal as the SD card.

I have dual boot on my laptop. I have to restart to boot into ubuntu though, his question seems more like, can you store two os in ram and switch between them. That would be sweet. Especially now that I know about that swapper program that lets you built a virtual ram partion on your ultra class 10 32gig sd : )

Windxixi has released the zImage file for our new GB. Now I know it's a small piece to the rest of this, but what can I do with this for now? Well, PM one. Maybe they'll do something.
I still love tracking the limited development we have on this phone. I'm using a Nexus 4 as my daily driver, but still swap into the Sidekick as there are still somethings like typing and swapping between apps that it does better in some cases (like trips to the grocery store). Here's hoping our new GB ROM works out well.
