I am happy to see the Netflix and HBO Go app works great on the Note. My only concern is that I noticed the voice is not synced with the video using Netflix while streaming over 3g. Is there any way to fix this? Also, is there a HD version of the HBO app because the picture does not seem sharp enough like it did on my iphone. It's not really that bad but it seems a shame that the app doesn't take advantage of such a great screen with the Note.
Yes, I've noticed that. HBOGO shows very low res on my Note as well.

MyPlayer on the Android market allows downloading of the HQ video streams used by iPhone and iPod Touch through the Safari browser, however on hi res, big screened devices like the Galaxy Tab these downloads look pretty crappy. You can also download a DRM encrypted file from the BBC iPlayer Mobile site but this is also pretty rubbish.
I know that the iPad stream is fantastic quality and just wondered if anyone knew if it is possible to access this stream, or if any developers are working on a means of doing so.
It seems a shame that online videos seem tailored to the iPad but not Android tablets: even Android's own YouTube app doesn't have streams in the same high resolution as the one built into iPad.

It's early days yet. I'm an android developer by profession and am focusing on the Galaxy Tab as a primary target alongside the iPad for our applications. In my spare time it's possible I'll write some exclusively for the tab.
Is it possible then? Or is the iPad stream encrypted?
I look forward to development for Galaxy Tab, I don't normally leap in and buy cutting-edge devices at full price, just hoping I haven't made a mistake with the Galaxy Tab.

I wouldn't think it's a waste. I was bought mine purely because we intent do develop for it, we're just one company but I'm sure there are others like ours.
As for the stream, I have never looked into the video stuff, I don't see why the right app couldn't just get the normal youtube HD vids down.
I find it extremely irritating that the BBC has decided that they only support Android via flash yet fruit themed devices get dedicated apps (and so do Blackberries as an aside!).

Dave

I agree, this is irritating, but we do still have Flash unlike the fruit themed devices

I am considering purchasing the Tab 2 10.1 and have been reading reviews but haven't come across anything regarding streaming media from the network sites like ABC and CBS. Can anyone tell me how well the Galaxy handles this? I'm also wondering how well the Netflix app runs. Thanks!
Anything you can do on previous Android devices you will be able to do on this tablet. So I would assume that you can.
Well I have a Transformer Prime currently but it constantly reboots when streaming so that's why I'm curious about the Galaxy. Prior to the Prime I had an iPad.
No problems streaming here
I have been able to stream movies from HBO.com, amazon instant videos, and other various websites with no problems... I think as long as you have adobe flash installed it should be fine. I love my new galaxy tab 2 10.1, I was thinking about getting an iPad but am a huge Android OS fan and the new ICS is amazing in tablet form... Its definitely a worth while purchase... I primarily use mine to watch movies and TV either through streaming or downloaded movies and I have no complaints...
Well the netflix app runs flawlessly. It's one of the most used apps on my tab. I haven't streamed through any other apps all though i have installed Hulu and it appears to work as well.
Hulu Plus works great, as does Crackle.

Streaming is the big reason I have ordered Gtab 2 p5113--should be arriving tomorrow. I love my amazon prime videos and can't use it on the "other" device which makes me cranky. Very excited!!
yes, for sure!
And for iptv streams i'm using ITPV application from market
Amazon Prime streams like a champ! Yeah!!
Anyone here using Netflix on note 10.1 ?
I find the video quality really poor and was looking to find if enabling netflix HD is possible
There are some moded netflix apps but all are pretty old versions.
Any suggestions ?
Are you confident your connection has the bandwidth for HD?
I'm using Version 2.3.0 on my Note 10.1, and it seems to always show in HD, when applicable. I don't see any settings to affect this. In fact, I don't see any settings at all in the app.
yup. I am using wifi and on a pretty good internet cable.
It's gotta be something on your end; after the first few seconds of lousy video (which is intentionally done by NF to determine your potential bandwidth), it's crystal-clear here.
Hey guys,
I recently bought the jaybirds bluebudsx headphones. I love them for the most part, however I'm getting some audio lag when trying to watch netflix movies. Confirmed it's not happening with speakers or normal plug in headphones.
Also doesn't seem to be happening with local video files though. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Yep, same here with Jaybird Freedom Sprint, running Android 4.4.2 and Netflix 3.1.0. YouTube, Vimeo and local vids fine.
You'll get the usual "Bluetooth is laggy" rubbish from some of the answers here, but on different devices (i.e. laptop) my headphones work fine with Netflix.
Nexus 10 running 4.4.2 not quite as bad, but still there.

Amusingly my Nexus 7 has even worse lag.
On the Nexus 5 I tested with some videos through Diceplayer and MX player and no audio lag. For some reason only the netflix app.
Yo,
I noticed that my mate 7 doesn't stream in hd to my chromecast using Netflix (popcorntime does it tough)
Is this something that Netflix won't do? Ive read something about it on the web but I can't get a clear answer... Does Netflix chose phones by hardware to watch in hd?
