[Q] Any customizable notification widgets for ICS? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When using GB I loved CM7 for the notification widgets. I could change the settings without leaving applications on the front.
I love the stock ICS I'm currently using, but I miss those notification widgets. I see there are some roms with this feature, but not customizable yet. And they don't have Edge control which I need badly.
Any idea which rom has worked this out?

J know the cm9s have it an some aosp have it integrated

Yes. Use the search feature.

Its called wigetsoid which can be found on the market. It allows for the widget to be placed on the status bar in the advanced menu.
However, if you're running CM9 they already have it done and can be configured with different buttons.

If you really like them so much you can use MIUI v4. Works perfectly in it.
BTW I also think that its about time someone gets customizable notification widgets in his rom. We have geniuses for devs for crying out loud..

Thank you. I'm very flattered that you think I'm a genius!!

I'm running a CM9 kang at the moment, and really liked this feature in CM7. However, can someone please point me to the control for customizing the notification set in CM9. In my noodness i haven't been able to find it in CM9.

[Q] MIUI-like lockscreen

Hi everybody. I'm running CM6 on my milestone. So far I've been very pleased with it. Yet, I really like the MIUI lockscreen, which beautifully gives you direct access to phone and messaging. Can someone port that lockscreen to CM? Or is there anyway I can have something like that, except from using widgetlocker, which is kind of ugly to me? Thanks a lot

If you're using CM, there's an option to have that. just go to CM settings, then input settings. Check the option for phone and messaging under 'lockscreen settings'. Just don't use rotary as your locksreen style.
what I mean is the whole gorgeous look of it

I asked this a while back, and some folks told me that the miui lockscreen was built into the miui framework and therefore unable to be ported to other roms.
That's most likely still the case. You should just install miui, its a great rom.

Or You Can Just Use Gestures
Which In My Opinion Is Better
And I Really Love MIUI

"4g" (really 3g)/2g Toggle

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530
There's a toggle app and widget available here. I just want to know if this is working on the custom rom or the updated rom.
I'm not having much luck, but I would like to hear what you guys come up with.
The ability to switch to GSM with a widget and automtically when the phone is sleeping is very appealing.

it likely wont work but show this to a dev revolution sduvick or ayoteddy and ask them if they can make it work for the sk4g they are all good with this kind of stuff
Working on it now
*UPDATE* I can't get it working .

Any way to incorporate certain features from cm7 to Catyrom ics?

I have been running cm7 for a long time and last night i finally updated my sisters infuse from stock froyo to catyrom ics and it looked really nice. However there are a few features on cm7 that i really like and do not know if there is a way to adapt them to any other rom.
Incongnito mod?
Ring lockscreen with launcher for the 4 custom apps?
Dialer, not the theme but the overall layout is different?
I think these are the only real features that cm7 has that is keeping me to continue using it. If they can be ported over or adapted i might try and switch it up.
Thanks,
Got a PM from dman saying these feature would have to be hardcoded in. Good to know its a possiblitly if there was time to make it happen. Keep up the good work.
It would probably be easier to port the look of catyrom to cm7, if just the look is what you're going for.

Lack of Roms

Is it just me, after i inherit this sidekick from a coworker as a co phone, i notice there is not many choices on Cook Roms. Coming from a vibrant, there nothing to use. Stuff that is months old is still not updated. Just wondering is there every going to be a GB rom.. like 2.3.x versions anytime soon?
This has been brought up many times but the main issue is really we lack a dev capable of hand writing drivers for a gingerbread kernal. And making drivers i can imagine is no easy task like the devs at cyanogen making Bluetooth drivers for the nook color when the device had no source code or existing code to go off of to enable blue tooth. Eventually samsung/tmobile will release a gingerbread rom for our phone but atm we have only froyo based roms to go off of an you can only do so much with froyo though ayoteddy did add a neat feature to glorious overdose that allowed swiping across the status bar to adjust screen brightness.

ICS style on ANY ROM

This may be old news for a lot of a people, but since I can't find any mention of it in the G2x Forums, then I figured there were probably still enough people who don't know about it to warrant a new thread.
If you're like me and got tired of the instabilities of ICS roms and switched to a GB one, but missed the look and feel of ICS, then here is your answer:

Holo Launcher works for 2.2 and above. I've been running it on top of HFP 2.2 for 3 days with no problems. It does a great job of giving you an ICS feel on your GB ROM and also features pinch previews and scrollable docks. I recommend using this with a rom that supports Theme Chooser to fully customize your device and really get that Sandwich feel (or whatever other feel you want )
thats pretty cool, gonna try this when i get home, thanks for posting this!
I've been using it for 2 days and it is nice and gives the same exact feel of stock launcher of 4.0.4 without the lag haha, I wish Widgets would work but it is only a beta ;-)

Widgets are working for me. Just not in the ICS style of pulling them from the app drawer, which is not a huge deal for me.

Only if it had lock screen gesture and delete/uninstall apps directly from the app drawer. The two things that won't let me go of the Golauncher.

My current rom supports lockscreen gestures (I use them frequently). And if you hold down on an app from the app drawer, drag it to the delete/trash icon, and hold it there, it turns into an uninstall icon. Note: this only works with downloaded apps and not system apps.***
Oh.. and I appreciate thanks, but if you try the launcher and like it, please show your support and thanks to dev in the original thread linked in the OP. Thanks!
Its Ok, doesn't compare to ADW with the ICS Sqrd paid theme is smooth silky Butter!
I tried this before, it's not bad but I'd rather use GO Launcher EX with an ICS theme. It's just way smoother for my phone.
The jelly bean update is nice.... People don't seem to like the search bar but I think it's cool

With the newest update, I had to "keep it in memory" for it to work right
