Hello,
I updated my HTC Desire S to new hboot version 2.00.0002 via Terminal Emulator. When I am trying to wipe dalvik cache I get error - unknown volume for path sd-ext.
My phone was S-OFF via Revolutionary before. Now my phone stucks in HTC logo screen and I cant run ROM. I tried to wipe cache, data, factory reset, all partitions, format SD cards many times...but nothing work. Im using CM 7.1.
What should I do?
Are you running 2.3.3 still. Not sure if if the new hboot why work if you have a older ROM cause the the partition table.
Same problem here

Please help me! I have spent the past two days trying to fix and flash a custom ROM to my phone...
First, I followed this guide to root and S-OFF. I did everything it said including SuperCID.
I then copied this ROM, Virtuous Inquisition , to my SD Card and attempted to flash it with CWM. (Yes I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache) All that happened was it went to the HTC logo, then the Virtuous logo, then reboot. I had to restore from a backup but ther was an "md5 mismatch error" so I used a guide to fix using adb.
I then moved on to ARHD 6.1.0 I flashed the kernel recommended radio (using the adb method required) and flashed the SuperWipe then the ROM. I got stuck at the bootloader but then I realised I needed 4EXT not CWM, so I got 4EXT and I still get stuck at boot (30mins +)
Any ideas?
did you get the required firmware 3.12 or 3.24 v2.1 requries3.12 and v3.0 requries 3.24 should be hboot 1.23 or 1.27
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
Ahh no didnt see that thank you my hboot is 1.17 but that still doesnt explain the Virtuous errors?
the rom will not boot if your not on the current firmware. if you download the firmware on the rom page then flash the rom it should work and stop the boot loop
my phone, now restored from the backup, no longer has SuperUser and randomly reboots
Hi,
I have a rooted Sensation XE, I did it a while back and I installed Revolution HD.
I now want to try something different, so I opt for Viper S and Cyanogen MOD.
Now, my HBOOT is 1.27, and my S is ON.
When I install it, I perform a full clean wipe of the SD Card, Dalvik, Cache, System, Data.
When I try to boot, it hands on the Sensation white screen. The one that says ViperS.
When I try to boot CM, I get to the blue screen with the wavey back ground. It's not looping, just forever loading.
Now, my questions are,
Is it doing this because I accidentally deleted my EXT4 partition?
Is this because I have S-ON
Is this because of both?
Any help highly appreciated,
Thanks XDA!
Anyone?
What is your full hboot is it 1.27.1111 and do you have your bootloader unlocked and your s on so you need 4ext custom recovery with smart flash enabled this will flash your boot.IMG this is keeping your device from booting because it didn't get flash because your s on that is why your getting bootloops
Sent From my Viper Ss 1.1.0 with true s off by apha revolutionary
kindly read the guide about flashing ROMs with S-ON
@jslim his hboot will be 1.27.0000 because the 1.27.1111 is available to S-OFF devices only
I recently tried switching from a 4.2.2 ROM to CM11, but was having some major issues with recoveries and I performed a format system.
And now my phone is pretty much bricked
I am on Hboot 2.16, S OFF and i relocked the bootloader
I tried flashing a European JB RUU but It always failed whether it's IMAGE ERROR or Unknown error. I thought having S OFF gave you the ability to pretty much flash any RUU for your Device :S
I have the same problem
and was going from a ROM to another but no f****** use
anyway
you have to use magio.rom recovery
and flash it with magio.rom full wipe
and if you can't mount sdcard
just boot to recovery and use this command
adb push yourromname.zip sdcard
yourromname= you choose a name
and then flash it
the problem I'm s-on and tried a lot to s-off it but none of the methods worked for me
i hope someone will help with this disastrous problem

follow these steps
1)format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext recovery
2)enable smartflash from 4ext recovery
3)flash the rom
4)done
When i flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699401
it said to do a standard full wipe
so in 4ext wipe | format option i wiped all the things
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
wipe cache + dalvik
wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
format system
format data
format boot
format all partitions (except sdcard)
I HOPE THAT thats its not what causing custom rom to work .....
Flashed rom and it worked ....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks buddy soo much !!!!!

use the option i told you
if in the installation of the rom asks you for full wipe just don't do it since you have done already a full wipe
Hey
[edit]
don't know if i did good or bad, but i installed hboot 2.16 since i want kitkat,
but when i select recovery in the bootloader i still get the constant reboot.
[/edit]
my phone is s-off and super-cid, hboot 1.09, but when i try to install a new version of either CWM or TWRP through their apps, it says installed successfully, but after a reboot i can;t get into recovery - the phone just keeps rebooting.
also - rom manager says i have both installed.
also i can't reset the phone, when i click reset phone in the settings menu, it says it does, but after it reboots - everything is still as it was.
I guess i should not do a factory reset (in hboot menu) unless i have some sort of recovery working?
thanks
OK, all fixed now.
what i did is this:
downgraded to HBoot 2.15
relocked bootloader
installed the 3.16 RUU (only able to do it after the downgrade to 2.15 hboot, and only on one computer - otherwise got error 158)
unlocked the bootloader through HTCDev
installed latest TWRP
tried to load CM without success (didn't read all the instructions)
read all the instructions
flashed the CM boot.img
install CM11 without a problem
hoe this will help someone
how did you go from 2.16 to 2.15?
i'm having a similar issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/help/help-load-recovery-boot-rom-hboot-2-16-t2827392
