I guess you have a transformer ??? make sure this is one for you before use. It is android 3.0 but you can ota update to 3.2. Good luck
You could always just update to the latest firmware. It breaks root. Wish I wouldn't have updated because I still want root!
you can do unroot without sd?

Does anyone know if your device will still receive the official over the air update if it is rooted and still running 2.1 update 1? If not how can you unroot your device? Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer
I'm not absolutely sure, but I am pretty sure it should update just fine if you haven't flashed an unofficial rom. Even though your device is rooted.

hi i am newbie
I bought samsung galaxy note GT-N7000 (THL). now i just upgraded android os official from 2.3 to 4.0.3 official throught samsung kie software. I wonder. if i want to rooted this android 4.0.3, so when samsung release new official android os, so i can upgrade throught samsung kie like before?
another problem is: Which open source softwares can backup whole app and android os and kernal without rooted device?
thank you
I'm fairly certain that you can update your device through official forums once you've rooted it. You may have to root it again after the update though.
Also you'll only get over the air updates if you keep the stock rom and bootloader, if you install something like clockwork recovery you will not be able to get your updates.
I know that the premium version of titanium backup can backup data from your apps but you definitely need root access to back up the full app.
Spend some time reading through the forums for your device, try searching around a bit, you may find that a custom rom is appealing, in which case you can root, backup your apps and get a better device.
Good luck!

Hello guys.
I'm sorry for the noob questions, but I'm very new to the Android world.
I just bought an Asus TF700T and I decided to root it.
This wasn't possible as my device had JB installed, so I decided to downgrade it to ICS with a method that could keep it locked.
After that I rooted it without any problems
First of all my first question is this:
Is it normal that my tablet now is full of chinese applications? I downloaded the firmware from the asus site so I'm just wondering why it is like that and how to fix it
Also is it normal that I don't have the google play store application installed?
After this I wanted to know the correct steps to upgrade it again to JB keeping the root at the same time
Thanks a lot
Sounds to me like you flashed the Taiwanese firmware.

ye you are totally right...
I'm trying to install the WW version now.
Anyway after I installed it and rooted it how can I update to the latest version of JB?
thanks
Edit: I tried to download Root Keeper and to update it to JB, but the root is gone
So I'm stuck at the upgrading part
You need to install voodo before you update to JB, save the root and then temp un-root it.
If that doesn't work as easily as that (which it didn't in my case) then follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926147
That worked great for me
i want to ask a qusetion before i do this im following this post and i have everything besides one thing i dont know about
this is the post im on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952124
it says it needsd to have a Jelly Bean Firmware/Bootloader
idk if i have that not unless its asking about the rom i have. I am on ICS 4.0.4 i never updated my tablet and i have it rooted. i also have CWM 6.0.15 touch version.
do i need to update the FW. to get this rom installed and if so will it lock my bootloader and take away my root.
if it dose take my root am i able to use the same root method i used on my ICS on this updated rom
please help and thank you for the help
Soon I will be receiving my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 (White) hopefully Thursday 1/24/13
I'm familiar with the Samsung Galaxy line as I've own the S II and currently own the S III
Reading through these forums before I decided to purchase the Note 10.1, over the Nexus 10, I was excited to see so much development for this tablet. I'm guessing when I receive this tablet it will have ICS 4.0 installed, here is my question
What is the first thing I should to do the tablet when I receive it should I do an OTA to get it to JellyBean or would it be better for me to just root it and the flash a provided ROM in the forum to upgrade it to 4.1.2 via TWRP?
IMy guess is that I should not do any OTA and just root, install recovery and then flash a 4.1.2 ROM, for now I'll be sticking a stock ROM since I kinda like TouchWiz
Thank you in advance for all suggestions!

yes skip the ota part and root your phone once you get it.. then flash 4.1.2.. you can choose from the 3 custom recovery that we have here., twrp.,
zedomax cwm., and darkman_RS cwm..
I would say use your tablet stock for a few dayz just so u know could experience pure stock.. Its nice to see wat a device can do untouched. Than I would say update in a few dayz because if you like me I just love knowing I can do things to my device because once u fix up tge tablet u gonna become bored and wanna try more roms.. thats why I say play with stock for awhile. Once you go custom its boring using pure stock..

Thank you both for your suggestions
I can do the pure stock thing for a few days, with root of course!
Actually my main thinking was to run it with stock 4.1.2
Yep. I flashed a lot of different custom roms on my old tablet (asus transformer), but I've never really found the need to do it for this one. I'd advise you to root with the exynos exploit apk (because it's easy, but it might not be as safe), then use mobile odin to flash to 4.1.2 while keeping root. Then, with root, you can add multiwindow to all your apps with another apk available in the Themes and Apps section here!
If your stay stock on 4.1.1 why not just ota as its easier then root with exploit app? This is what I did, love touchwiz all I've done is made more apps available in multiwindow and rooted

I got my tablet today, WOW!!! Two days earlier than I expected
The following is what I did
1. Installed CMW via Odin
2. Installed SuperSU via CMW
3. Installed Goo IM and installed TWRP
4. Installed Stock 4.1.2 via TWRP after doing a backup of course!!!
Man so far Peel is awesome
How can I move the soft keys from the left side to the right?
