hey
just wondering if there was a way of exiting ANDROID OS and back into Windoze 6.5?
PLS NOTE i am not talking exiting an app.
I booted from WINDOWS and i want to go back into Windows after faffing around with Android.
TIA
You can't be so vague, maybe you should give us some background info such as what phone you have?
Am I right in guessing you have a HTC HD2? In that case, you should ask here.
it says it is a htc 8282 ... whatever that is ... when i connect it to windoze it says its a HTC dream
is it possible to exit android and back to windows.
the only way is to take out the battery as none of the buttons work, not even the power one
SOLVED IT in marketplace ... an app that reboots and powers off.
Pity they can just exit android and back to windows instead of rebooting

Android is not running on top of windows. The app that runs Android reboots the phone before Android runs. (If it's like it was when I was first running Android on my HD2.)

Hi guys,
A colleague of mine is currently looking into a win mob device and the security of it.
Upon startup, an applications auto starts that runs fullscreen.
This app does not have any exits buttons etc that allow you to exit the app to get to the underlying OS.
I know nothing of the hardware that it is being run on but need to know any short-cut keys, techniques, etc for breaking out of a "locked" environment that would be much appreciated.
One thing that came to mind was the possibility of rebooting the winmob device but preventing the app from autostarting.... is there anything like a winmob safe mode?
Cheers in advance
You could program one of the hardware buttons to take you to the "today" screen.

Except that would require you to be able to get to the settings in the first place.

There are apps that do safemode but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to install any apps... you can try to connect to your PC and see if ActiveSync will connect and from there you can delete installed apps (assuming the thing popping up shows up on the apps list) and then try to reboot. Otherwise, just hard reset the device ands tart with a fresh OS.
You could make a program or link on an SD card in folder 2577, which should start automatically when inserted into the device.
Hello there,
I have recently received an HTC HD2 from a friend of a friend of mine. It didn't work and was stuck at a black screen.
After receiving the HD2 I saw that the HD2 was in a boot loop of some sort. Every time I would turn it on it would vibrate once, and then turn off. Then it would vibrate once again and it turned off again. The backlighting of the screen would turn on, and then after a certain period of time (maybe like 5 seconds) they turn off again.
Somehow (by luck, maybe) I managed to boot the phone into windows mobile 6.5. I still got a black screen, but I could hear the sound that the phone makes after it boots windows. I then attached the phone to the computer and downloaded the latest HTC HD2 Windows 6.5 ROM and flashed it to the phone as standard procedure. Now, every time I turn the phone on I hear the sounds of windows booting up and I can connect with it using windows mobile device center. I also hear sounds when I push the buttons on the phone.
TL;DR-> Black screen, phone reacts to input.
Question: will replacing the screen fix the phone? Or is it some other component failing. Booting windows proves the phone isn't bricked, right?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, you can always try to boot into three colored screen, by turning the phone on while holding the DownVol key at the same time. If this doesn't work you would need to buy a new screen to see if that fixes the problem.
Heres a link to amazon where you can buy a new LCD, you can also search how to change the screen on Youtube

2 Months ago I installed Android on my Windows HTC HD2. It worked perfectly and I still would recommended it to everyone. But now my phone doesn't startup anymore after I turned it off.
The only thing I see is the android logo fading in and fading out constantly. Nothing more and nothing less.
I tried everything, pushed every button but nothing works. Even the LED lights don't work anymore when the battery is loading. And when I connect the phony to my laptop, nothing happes!?
Can someone help my, because I really want my phone back working the way it use to do??? It was the best, compared to the Windows version before.

People, I've tried a bunch of assemblies and options for your phone after the display is changed to the Chinese and found that only 3 boot penguin display and inscriptions at boot true test, with those two idit load equally, and one with the other inscriptions but also hangs. These feeders: 1) polaimg-panel3-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-06-09-10_22 2) polaimg-panel3-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-09-10_21 3) polaimg-panel3- 240x320-2.6.32-froyo-27-08-10_23.
All three normally pick up the screen but the writing bug usb_vsync.
Founded on the Internet has the very first assembly androyda, who works in the demo rezhime.Reshil try to install it and wonder, android has started without any problems.
Here is a link to the installation package that will install this demo on your phone: hxtps://rapidshare.com/#!download|304l34|123389441|RUU_Polaris_Android_DEMO_v1_0.exe|72394|R~EC5F7C5EBDDD628BF8BFF91F71607033|0|0
Those who say they say android does not support Chinese screens, just a lie or do not know. At this assembly it is clear that androyd runs perfectly, and on the phones with a Chinese screen.
Most likely, DZO, or what the other developer of the kernel is not corrected. Suggest to write a petition to save money and to develop a normal boot. Let's say it can do the same DZO or what the other developer. I do not think it would be very difficult and time consuming. Who can help me in this, please come forward!
But there's more, I decided to try to run through the HARET andriod 1.5 on the same firmware WM and you think, android has started well!!
At the moment, try to build a working version of Ecler, I do not know whether I can or not but the fact that at least 1.5 works already happy!
That it happened. All the same I managed to run Android on my devayse 2.1-2.2. Of course there are problemma, and a large - is not responsible for nozhatie touch screen, but the fact that he obsalyutno normally displays everything on the screen is great plshyusom and proves once again that all the matter in the loader, which local craftsmen or they can not fix! !
Below we will explain how to start. If you do not get something right the first time, try again, I got yed)
1) Download the assembly android_by_polyrhythmic-beta3.zip (Look on the internet, I think problemma not be found)
2) Download the assembly polymod.rar.
3) Unpack android_by_polyrhythmic-beta3.zip and copy the folder on the SD android.
In the folder are 2 files android default and default-s, files and zImage-15-12-09 and zImage3. The file default by one run android in Haret changing the panel on 1,2,3. Each time you start when you have to wait for the LED zamegaet either blue, green or yellow, and goes off the screen. This would mean that the android booted and shut off the screen. After clicking on a retreat or off you will see a white screen.
After running all three panels so turn off your phone zaydmite to stick and move to folder android Fail of the default-polaris zborki polymod and change it to default. Replace the old Fail them, and then rename the zImage-15-12-09 in just a zImage. Now run the android. Wait until you have a light starts blinking LED goes off and the screen. As it happens, click on the rebound a few times. You will see a line of code and then the welcome screen android. Since the touch screen is not working I could not go further, but pressing the buttons can be issued to the soglashatsya message.
Here vprintsype all.
Try it. The point I was told, then I welcome your ideas and results!
I work at Target and they recently took down the old Fitbit display. The monitor was touch screen running Android that was set to start up a Fitbit program when it booted up. I was able to spam the screen and get the Fitbit app to force close allowing me to navigate the Android OS. There was no bottom natation bar (home button, back button missing) but I was able to get into settings and do a factory reset.
Now I have Android tablet with wifi, SD card slot and a full USB port. It's running jelly bean but no gApps. No bottom navigation bar either.
I'd like to get this just running a clean stock room I or CM or something. I don't know how to get it into recovery mode though because there are no hardware buttons (just an on/off switch). Amy ideas?
I haven't got a full sized USB to USB cord yet to try to get into it with ADB but hope to try that soon. I can install apps though as long as they don't require gApps.
Thanks for any ideas.
