This is the one I always use in these instances (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965634)
Stock, rooted - HSUPA enabled. Rename ROM to PD98IMG.zip and put at the root of your SD - boot to bootloader and it should automatically start the flash process. Once the ROM is installed, download ROM Manager from market and flash latest version of CWM Recovery (or use an alternate recovery). Now you should have working recovery to flash whatever you want.

when i try to boot into bootloader, it says hboot instead. ans says "ace pvt ship s-off rl".

[RESOLVED] I bricked my Desire S

My phone is unbranded , unrooted & stock using ROM 1.47.401.4.
I have downloaded the latest ota 2.10.401.4 and in that zip there was a firmware zip in it.
i renamed the firmware zip to pg88img.zip and put it in my phone's sd root.
After the reboot of the phone has updated the firmware BUT thats all.
If i reboot the phone stucks on the HTC logo but also i can go to the bootloader options if on the reboot i hold down the volume button.
Is there any way to restore the phone?
I try to flash the stock rom but nothing.
Can anybody help please??
Resolution:
If anyone has the same problem and has hboot-2.00.0002 & S-ON you have to unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com site following all the steps and flash the EXT4 Recovery via FASTBOOT and NOT ADB.!!
Then go to recovery and flash any custom rom.

Thanks.
i'll try and see whats going to happen.
Which update did you download? There are a couple available - odexed & deodexed.
Maybe worth trying which ever one you didn't download the first time?
Also are you giving it plenty of time to load? First boot from a fresh install always takes a long time.
Don't worry, you don't have a brick

Using the http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions i managed to get my bootloader UNLOCKED but it still says S-ON.
Tryed to flash the 4EXTvia adb but it says ERROR no device found.
Any other instruction on how to get my DS working again?
Going on bootloader i see:

My hboot is HBOOT-2.00.0002 and the revolution to s-off is only for hboots 0.98.0000 & 0.98.0002.

The only way that i can communicate to my DS is only via fastboot.

That would be a choice, but I would say you'll be better of to use xtc-clip to gain s-off, after this everything is possible or just give it back for warranty and let them repair it,
because it's still s-on, but just to know, what else where in the zip?
Could it be that you forgot something, have you tried a factory reset?

Go to a second hand handy shop that also does repairs and stuff like this maybe they get one, I s-offed mine this way for €20^^

I downloaded via my computer http://liveimage.htc.com/OTA_Saga_S...1.47.401.4_release_217301kjfuq12qqm0wuhg7.zip
In that zip file there was another zip file called Firmware.zip.

I rebooted holding the volume down button and the phone went to bootloader mode found the pg88img.zip and flashed it.

Is there any way to flash the OTA via fastboot since over adb i get the message device not found..???
Do you have a "recovery" option in the fastboot menu? If so try to go to this menu and see if adb recognises it then. But you have probably tried this already, right.
With adb, when you type 'adb devices', your phone is not shown, correct?
I'm not sure about getting S-off with the new hboot, I did mine with the old hboot.
You could try to download the deodexed rom on this page and flash that, but you need to get into recovery first.
Sorry, not much help I'm afraid.
Did you try to install these fastboot drivers?
Unfortunately i have tried everything so far but didn't work.
The xtc clip maybe is the only way.. Or if the s-off solution of revolution will support in future my hboot and do it that way.
I also noticed that when i tried to flash the stock rom i had 1.47.401.4 and was stuck on the HTC logo the update software said that i had rom 11.10.401.4.!!!!!
Since i flashed the original fota why the version said 11.10.401.4 and not 2.10.401.4??
WTF IS GOING ON.??
Well, I still don't think you have a brick - you can get into the bootloader, you just need your pc to recognise it via USB.
Have you tried flashing the previous hboot version you had? To enable revolutionary s-off?
Also have a look around the general Android forums, there are some very experienced peeps there who may be able to help.
Peace

You should ask this question on the XTC phone tools forum to raskal to be 100% sure that this new version is covered (see link on the XTC in my sig)
and as @tectas has said, there is still a possibility that you are still able to return under warranty and allow them to resolve it for you..
sorry unable to assist with confidence.
EDIT: see this thread that I created a while back that contains another link within it to lots of XTC owners around the world within it, but I'd confirm that the new HBOOT is covered before you run XTC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076937&highlight=xtc
I ask them. Thanks anyway.
The 3 things left.
1. to ask xtc forum if my hboot-2.00.0002 is supported.
2. to wait till revolution s-off supports in the future my hboot.
3. to wait till someone leakes the stock signed ruu 2.10.401.4
That's all unfortunately..

Please help i will donate if you can help me fix

I started rooting my htc sensation 4g. all went well i downloaded revolutionary and succesfully S-OFFd the phone. When revolution asked me if i wanted to download clockwork recovery i said no. so then i was told to download recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation but the link was bad so i had to go explore for another one. the one i found was supposed to work it was a pg.158 file or whatever. When i booted in to hboot after putting the zip on my sd card and back into the phone, it asked me if i wanted to update i clicked volume up. it did its thing then asking me to reboot and i clicked yes.
it shut off came back on to the htc start up screen went to the next one and shuts off and repeats itself. its never ending i try to click recovery and it just goes back into bootloop....i try to click factory reset it just starts then gives me a ret triangle......what did i do wrong...someone please help me get out of this mess i would be more than happy to donate if you do.

Can't get into recovery (Revolutionary)

Hi All.
I'm having a problem with what appears to be Recovery mode in Revolutionary.
The Desire S has been rooted and S-Off. I then flashed Android Revolution 7(Mike1986).
As I'm about to sell the phone, wanted to do a factory reset, but this restarts the phone and gets stuck on the HTC logo. So I figured I'd manually flash a new ROM instead. So I go into bootloader, but when I get to the menu and select Recovery, again, it gets stuck at an HTC logo.

You need to flash an eng-hboot first before you can flash an RUU to go back to stock.
All details in my signature and the index thread.

Oh, OK - I'm not that bothered about putting it back to stock firmware. I just wondered why Revolutionary doesn't seem to be working.
Presumably I just need to put PG88IMG.zip into the root of the SD card?

Android Revolution 7??? On the Desire S...? Where'd you get that from? It's not officially supported by the ARHD team!!
Now I'm absolutely confused where the hell I got that from!!!
I think the best course of action is to get the phone back into shape - so I need to flash the HBOOT back and presumably the recovery back if possible. Revolutionary is preventing me from flashing a new Hboot. Any ideas?
EDIT : Right. Using ADB, I've managed to re-flash CWM and now it works. But can someone advise on getting HBoot to flash?
Loll fire the dd command to flash hboot.
It is fine from adb.
See in the thread of my signature for the dd commands

Just reflash your unlock code from HTC dev install twrp then flash away
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Don't panic, this should be an easy fix.
Once you relock, you have to run a ruu or unlock again. But you're trying to run a ruu for older firmware, which is why it's failing.
Just push the unlock token again, and you should be able to boot to recovery. If not, push the recovery image again. I don't recommend CWM, even though it's been ported to this phone. That version of TWRP should work, just confirm that you've got the Evita version.

Why are you relocked?
Unlock again and update TWRP, then try to flash a ROM again. What ROM(s) are you trying to flash.
Be aware that since you are s-off, you will need to extract boot.img from the ROM you are trying to flash, and manually flash with fastboot. You will need to do this every time you flash a ROM, unless you get s-off.
Also, I don't know why you posted to this old thread. Aside from the OP also having the Rogers version, it has nothing to do with your issue. Should have started your own thread.
I'll just clarify that when Redpoint said you need to update TWRP you should update it to TWRP 2.6, your current version (2.5) is very buggy. Also, he means since you are s-on you need to flash the boot.img, when you get s-off this will no longer be required.

(example: I tried to flash original RUU from HTC to the phone, but then while sending signature it has an ERROR.)
Please help me!

hi
greetings,
visit here and check troubleshoot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
can you tell on which screen the phone is stuck?
You got error while flashing a ruu as your bootloader is unlocked, lock the bootloader and you can run the ruu (keep this as the last option)

I have done this troubleshooter. It did not help. I am stuck on the juonunutbear screen with the green arrow pointing down.
EDIT: i have tried also relocking the phone (which went well) and installing the original RUU. It has a problem/error message when "sending signature".
tnx for your help until now

Same issue
Hi there....
I'm not new to Android and have had my Sensation for over two years. Previously to that, I was using a blackberry changing os files and such.
I'm having the same problem as the user above and frankly not sure what to do at this point.
I've gone to the HTCdev and unlocked the bootloader but the phone has S-On.
Downloaded the Controlbear program and didn't realize I needed the wire to finish the steps. I exited the program and now it's stuck at that screen.
I've pulled out the SD card and formated it on my PC to then put on a rom to at least get it to boot into it but that hasn't worked.
I've also downloaded the RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_TMOUS_3.32.531.14 stock rom to try to reset it but the name of the device shows as asjds.
When I run the program, It had problems installing stopping on the black htc screen. Now it just boots up to the white screen with green HTC logo.
I'm really not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The thing is whenever my phone comes on it goes directly into the bootloader page and within few minutes it hangs and turns off, so if i plug it to the system it doesnt even recognise it. so if am to do the temproot, am not sure my system would recognize the phone.
