##634# - HTC 7 Pro

I read somewhere about dialing ##634# to do battery test on wp7 devices however on my phone it enabled something called "embedded tool" and says something about passing DM codes via USB. Does any know what this means and if it can be used to help crack the device. Also does anybody know other dialpad codes that might help?

Confirmed that this code brings up the mentioned menu on my Arrive.
Diag has two toggles:
This tool allows device to transfer DM commands between device modem and USB ports
Diag mode - DISABLED (with a toggle)
Auto Diag mode is for PLTS LBS test use only and should remain disabled for other tests.

Pulling up the ... menu gives a list with 1 sec, 2 sec, 3 sec, 4 sec, and 5 sec.
I haven't clicked any of the other menu options.

Ok I found another code... ##786#
Sent from my T7575 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

##786# brings up a Service Tools menu which has multiple buttons (confirmed with Arrive).
Select function set:
{DATA}
{MSL}
{PST}
{RTN}
I haven't clicked any of the buttons yet.

Thank you Layne for describing these more thoroughly. I've just been posting these as I find them. FYI I'm not responsible if you brick your phone by messing with the settings within these various tools. Use at your own risk.
On that note these codes all access the last mentioned "service tools"

Anyone with any insight into what the abbreviations mean? MSL - Master System Lock. RTN - Real Time Network. Not sure about the others.
Also, anyone with a "spare" that can afford to dive deeper into the menus with less concern about bricking? Or maybe someone wants to go play at the Sprint store.

I'm wondering if any of those will allow the USB mode to be switched to allow tethering?

Clicking some of the submenus.
Data Status --- shows the IP Address. But I can't ping that IP (not totally unexpected) but it might be interesting to see if there are any open ports.
Configuration --- shows a lot of phone details. Chipset: Qualcomm 8650. AMSS Version. PRL Version. Device version. Hardware version. etc. (Not sure if any of the details are useful to those with better hacking skills.)
The others all show information, but those two look the most useful for someone digging into the phone's guts.

Also, anyone with a USB sniffer might want to play with the Diag mode.

The only one that worked on my HTC 7 Pro (Mango, dev unlocked) is ##data# it looked interesting but I was afraid to press on any of the options

I got adventursome and actually pushed many of the buttons. Most of them were just displaying information. The MSL (Master System Lock) screen I didn't play with other than to click into it and it prompts for a PIN. I also didn't play witht he Diag mode. All of the other areas pulled up screens full of information.

So I have been researching this stuff. I have found out that these screens only display info unless you know your MSL code that is when you can enter the MSL code and edit almost all of those settings. From what I can edit I believe I may be able to make it so my phone could work on another network. I'm afraid to test that theory out though.
As far as diag mode I have found when you flip the switch on that my computer wanted a different driver to be able to recognize my phone. I have found a driver so my computer now recognizes my phone in diag mode as a modem. I haven't been able to get this to tether the device unfortunately. I have also found a computer application which lets you pass DM (Device Management) codes to your phone. Unfortunately I don't know any dm codes my phone (The HTC Arrive) recognizes. I will continue to update if I make any more advances with this.

The terminal I found accepts hex and ascii commands. I have been having trouble finding these. Anybody know a good resource?

Can you post a link to the DM console? I might play with it some when I get a chance.

Sorry, it took me so long to answer.
I have the HTC arrive so...
I've been messing around with a program call CDMA Workshop which is available at
http://www.cdma-ware.com/workshop.html
to be able to connect you need to put your phone in diag mode
##634#
tap diag
enable diag mode
You will also need HTC diag drivers available at
http://www.techwerkz.com/evo/HTCDiagDrivers.zip
I know that says evo but I have used it and I'm telling you it works.
Be warned... if you mess with the wrong settings you can really mess up your phone.
Happy Hacking

[Q] Samsung Focus cannot make call after unlock and load custom XAP

Hi
I just unlocked my samsung focus using my developer account and attempted to enable internet sharing from addictivetips.com:
Sorry I can't post links yet, these were the instructions:
Requirements
1) As told earlier, you will need a developer unlocked Samsung Focus or Samsung Omnia 7.
2) Download this link.
Instructions
3) Deploy the file you downloaded in step 2 of Requirements to your phone. If you are not sure how that can be done, you can try our guide on deploying XAP files to WP7 devices.
4) Once the XAP is in your phone’s app list, go to the device’s dialer and input ##634#. This will install the Diagnostics menu app on your phone. (Here’s a complete guide on WP7 Diagnostics Menu).
5) Enter *#9908# in the Diagnostics menu.
6) This command will take you to a new menu. From here, choose System Tweaks.
Hit Save followed by Close.
However, not only the internet sharing function doesn't work, I can no longer make calls. The phone can pickup the network (Rogers for me) but I cannot make calls or send text messages. The signal drops once in a while as well.
Any idea on how I can fix this?
Thanks,
Patrick
Forgot to mention. I've already tried rebooting, hard rest and formatting the phone.
Sim card works on another phone.
Also, I just tested 3G data and it's working. I just can't make calls or send/receive sms for some reason.
Have you tried using any of the connection repair tools? Most of the time the problem is that you lose your 3G connection, but they may well help if you lost your voice connection as well (which SMS also goes over, not data... it's weird).
You could also try manually setting your APN in the phone Settings page. That shouldn't be needed but it might help.
What is a connection repair tool? Can you direct me to a link?
I just restored the phone to pre-mango. Still no voice / sms...
I've fixed the issue...
Just to bring closure to this...
I found the full restore function in WP7's diagnostic menu. Fixed the call problem immediately after the restore.
Thanks a lot for the help. (and XDA's wiki)
If you look on the Interop Unlock thread in the Dev & Hacking sub-forum, it lists a number of tools and techniques there. Sounds like you found it yourself, though.

verizon galaxy siii programming mdn required on non-stock roms?

Relocated from email discussion:
Hey, great tool[editorial: I think in reference to: http://code.google.com/p/cdmaworkshoptool/ ]. Would it be possible for me to get a copy of the most recent build? I'm looking into some things on the galaxy s3 because we lose the min and phone number on non-stock roms. -C
to C:
Most recent build is .2 which is public.. What exactly do you mean by lose? As in they must be reprogrammed after.a rom is flashed? Does the, normal version of dev term you have downloaded fail to write the number back?
3:39 PM (2 hours ago)
to me
It's a temporary problem with cm10. Development has been slow. It's lost on the first reboot and then mms doesn't work. In android, under status about it lists "My Phone Number" as unknown and Min as unknown. Just trying to see if I can write them while the OS is booted.
to C:
To write a mdn and min typically you would connect to the phone in diagnostic mode.. Send mode offline. Send spc. Then simply write mdn and min from the nam part of the interface.. There are typically three nv items which dev term writes for mdn, and min. Then, mode reset will reset and you can confirm if this wrote the nv item..
Did that answer any questions?
to C:
Having never tested a galaxy s iii I'm not sure if devterm should work... There is alot of chatter online about a program called ets, you might look.for that if devterm doesn't work. Please let me know if you are able to successfully write on the galaxy siii.
to me
We are able to write to it with qpst. I actually got the numbers back, but I'm not sure how. Now Im in the process of seeing if I can figure out how to replicate it. What is supposed to happen when you put it into reset mode? It doesn't work for me after that.
to C:
After mode reset the radio of the phone will literally reset.. Some phones this will actually turn off and on the whole phone.. Some will just show no.service temporarily... After mode reset.cdmadevterm will disconnect.from phone.. There are alot of variables, but typically if.qpst could write the phone devterm should also be able.. The mdn and min are really quite simply three nv items, I suspect the subsystem that normally stores this information is being overwritten or formatted by cyanogen...
if you have ever used cdma worksop or qxdm the mode offline and mode reset is functionally the.same..
to me
Thank you so much for going back and forth with me on this. I really appreciate it. The only major difference I noticed between an nv dump on stock and cm is that cm has a lock code for some reason. What is this ETS software you're referring to? CDMA workshop is a bit too expensive unfortunately.
Although I am not totally familiar with the tool it is linked on XDA in another section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696621
I wonder if this might have something to do with the chipset not being qualcomm? On the other hand if you said it worked with qpst maybe they are somehow compatible?
The VIA tool probably won't work since we do have a qualcomm chipset. I still have not figured out how i managed to get it to work once but it came up with the unlock sim message I put in the code for my phone that I Found in nvram and then I tried the spc and a few other things and eventually hit dismiss. It said that it could not connect or something to that effect. Then I checked and it had my phone number as 000-000-xxxx which xxx was that unlock code. Then I restarted and I had the number again. I'm wondering if I somehow got the phone to let go of how its storing the phone number.
Hm. If it is qualcomm I would think that cdmaDevTerm should work... this is how one would normally write the mdn and min with devterm:
http://www.chromableedstudios.com/techninjutsu/howtowritemdnminwithcdmadevterm
Perhaps if this doesn't work you could include the response to the NV write from the LogQ tab to help understand the behavior? Maybe the rom is activating a different Nam profile or something?(I'm not sure if I even have a spot on the UI for that in devterm but a log might help understand)
(for logging purposes you may want to trying writing a fake phone number for privacy)
I guess my question also is: are you trying to figure out why the rom does this? or just a good way to fix it when it does?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tip 1: Root your phone so you can find the MSL!
Flash the GalaxyNote2RootSprint.zip file as it is VERY important that later on you will need root privelleges to remove spy software.
Look it up as I could easily take up 2 pages of writing to answer how to root your phone, so to keep it simple... Read up using the files I
explained above within the tools section.
Tip 2: Reset the phone everytime you f**k up. Do not proceed if you mess up. START OVER!!!!
go to dialpad and type in ##786#
Tip 2: Create the template:
Gather your (SPC/MSLD, MEID, DEC, ESN, PRL, and CAVE if possible) put them into a notepad.
Tip 3: This is no way even close to how you flash an EVO! So don't go looking at that method as it will mess you up.
Tip 4: Never change your MEID until last!!! If you do it before, your phone will reboot and you will be locked out again!
Tip 5: 32bit passwords are BS and they seem to change each time you switch phones, so do not think they are the same as it takes 20 minutes before boost
unlocks your account for the next / new phone to even browse.
Now without further delay lets begin.
---------------------------------------------------Galaxy Note II L900 Flash from sprint to boost manual -------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------Donor Segment ---------------------------------------------
Install DFS, QPST, QXDM and workshop 2.7
Get your sanyo incognito (donor) <--- I hate all others, and copy NV items 465,466,1192,1194, then copy NAM1, and NAM2 using workshop 2.7. Make sure you put
the code of SPC in as it will not work in regards to copying the NV items and NAMs mentioned earlier.
Go to DFS and connect the Donor to the proper port and take screen shots of all sub tabs under the programming tab below. Remember to send the password and
passcode so that you can gather all info without delay.
Now type go into QPST and service and programming and connect your phone there as well and take screen shots of all infor there and label accordingly.
-Now if you did everything above you have all you need and you now may turn off the donor and pull battery out and store it. Never turn it back on again!!
---------------------------------------------------------End Donor Segment -----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------Begin Flash -------------------------------------
Now connect your Galaxy Note II L900 (L900) and type *#PATI#
Now unplug the USB from the computer and plug it back in. (see now it should recognize properly now)
Now do the same for QPST (If you have errors connecting to QPST you need to change PRL to 61009 then something random after that but go back to 61009 after this, you can change your PRL using DFS)
Next open up DFS and then transfer all information you screen copied from the donor to your note.
Now reset using DFS
Next go into QXDM and issue these commands:
password 01F2030F5F678FF9
RequestNVItemRead meid
RequestNVItemWrite meid 0x00A00000000000 < MEID/HEX ID from donor phone
RequestNVItemRead meid
RequestNVItemRead esn
RequestNVItemRead scm
Write SCM 0x2a
Now close QXDM
Open Worshop 2.7 and apply all NV items and NAMs!
Now you are all set.
If you get error 67 please go back to DFS and rewrite the values.
Once you get it perfect you can simply stop the nagging activation codes using:
root explorer "paid version" to rename the file "/system/app/SprintSyncMLSvc.apk" to "SprintSyncMLSvc.apk.bak"
If you also want to stop the nagging system update message, just stop google framerwork services. "remember to restart when you go to google play" <-- google play depends on it.
Im reading this and had to ask a question. My gn2 was flashed only with one software dfs. I already knew my spc codes for donor and gn2 so all he had to do was read and copy. I learned on CDMA workshop and QPST/QXDM. I do not want to get off topic; but one day you will not be able to flash; because of some simple file/security blocking you. Like those of us that use QPST/Programming learned that DFS was a better choice to use AAA vs relying on the QPST modules.
How long until the reverse happens. I recommend having both skills and if you want to learn, I can teach you for $40.00 I think $150 is a bit steep but his time is worth what he says it is, as its his life... :0)
Hey, Im having an issue with a New Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone. Im experianced with flashing various phones.
he flash went fine for talk and text, but i have no data due to hands free activation stoping my 3g service. During the handsfree activation 3G pops up showung me my AAA keys are correct, then disappears.
I even tried disabling the sprint ML and activation apks to no avail.
Is the only way to fix this is to activate it on sprint first?
Or does anyone know of a phone code to disable the handsfree activation?
I can guarantee you you do not have evdo set
And your AAA is not correct.
The not has 2 distinctly different AAA
and only the HA is the same

Both my Unique AAA Passwords are input correctly, and the values are correct. They work fine in both my evo 3d and Epic. But the Note without activating it once, will not let my 3g connection exist.
I also activated 3 other note 2's that were used with no problem with working LTE (3g passthru). Mines is the only new one.

This is not an evo or epic
You should have 3 passwords. I have now done 8 galaxy note 2 phones.
I like you in the past thought the same. If you look at your data settings you will see cdma
Select it and it will begin saying your password is wrong
Reason for is because it is.
Connect to your DONOR not the evo or epic phone using DFS
Then take note of profile 0 and profile 1
As well as the AAA
If you would like I can do a teamviewer session with you and get your data working.

I go into EVDO engineering and see my AAA key is passing and I've set the phone to CDMA only data mode (which used to work before for EVDO) and yet the phone only wants to stay in 1x and fail evdo authentication. I think it has something to do with the profile 1 variables or something. When I reset the phone, it disables profile 0 and pastes [email protected] into profile 1 and I can get that to connect over EVDO no problem with the 3G icon coming up, but that's just some sprint internal network with no internet access, so all I can do is hit an access denied website on the HA gateway and that's it. I have no idea why the boost mobile profile that used to work will now never connect. I've done multiple ODIN flashes and erased and restored NV and nothing...EDIT: And I've read and written NVITEMS but I'm pretty sure the necessary NVITEMS don't stick, even if you send both spc and password to phone before writing nvitems. Seriously getting out of ideas, especially since it used to work on this phone and now it doesn't.

[GUIDE] How to change APN for mobile data on Kyocera Brigadier

This guide it will show how to change APN on Kyocera Brigadier and get rid of Verizon Bloatware.
This is for those who use Brigadier in other network (country ) than Verizon USA.
This tutorial is for Windows only. (because drivers and Debloater software)
1. Go to Settings then scroll down to "About phone" and then down to "Build number". Click on the item 7 times in a row. This will say Now you are a Developer.
2 Open the "Developer Options" and mark "USB debugging".
3. First make sure you have installed correctly the drivers for Kyocera Brigadier and your computer sees properly the phone.
You can install drivers from here
4. Connect the phone and select Media Sync Mode. (now the computer must see your E6782). Cancel the installation of Verizon software.
5. Go here to download and install Debloater. (skip warnings of your windows or antivirus)
6. Open Debloater (your phone still connected to computer) (make sure the phone is connected before open Debloater)
7. In up left corner you have "Read Device Packages" - press it, (t will read the processes of your phone)
8. Check the apps (first column) or processes (second column) that you don´t want to use.
Search for qualcomm and check qcrilmsgtunnel.apk alias com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel (this is what block the editing of APN)
I checked all Amazon, Nhl, all Verizon except VZWService (it will mess the programmable button and every time you open the phone it will ask for program it)
9. When you finish to mark click Apply and wait for Debloater block all services.
10. Disconnect your phone and go to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names and you will see in right corner a plus. Click it and introduce your Network provider settings and save.
Usually on name put whatever you want, on APN put net and APN type put default but you can check on provider's website for manual settings.
11. Check on mobile data, close Wi-Fi and verify if you have mobile internet.
12. Restart the phone and then go back and verify if you can edit again APN. (if not, repeat steps 6-10)
GOOD LUCK!

Hi!!
I've tried on my kyocera brigadier, installing usb driver for windows 7 64-bit,installed debloader (v3.15) and skipped the installation of Verizon software.
Usb debug mode and windows mediasync enabled.
I opened Debloader and the phone was correctly recognised by the program (2 green dot but not the one for the brigadier rooted naturally).
The problem is that when I click on the button that says "Read Device packages",it doesn't read anything! It is stuck on "processing 0 files..." and nothing else happens!!
Someone has had more luck than me?
thank you!!
P.S: mine is an Italian provider "Wind" and the proper apn is "internet.wind"
Sorry te hear this... Usually, all people who I spoke did it right and it always works. So I belive it's a problem with your software... Normally it should work. Try to uninstall and reinstall the software and the drivers... But if you say you see 2 greens circles idk what happens...

How to get Kyocera DuraScout in RO
Hi Obsy,
Can you please help me with some information on this phone, which version to get, from where and if it fully works in Romania. I am not really knowledgeable with phones...
1. Is the US Verizon version of e6782 (they call it Brigadier) capable of GSM connection?
2. There is a version for US small provider BlueGrass, do you know if this is the same as Verizon? of different is some way?
3. On Kyocera site there is also a version called DuraScout, is it the same as Brigadier? What I could understand is that Brigadier might be the CDMA version, and DuraScout the GSM version. Do you have an idea if this is so or not?
4. If we can change the APN in Romania to work on Orange, does it fully work? I mean LTE speed and HSDPA?
Do all other functions work?
5. Is The Verizon version locked in some other way than APN?
Thank you very much for your answer.
PS: I wrote in english because I see this is an english forum.
HI! Yes it's an international forum so usually English it's a must.
I will merge 1,2,3 questions and 4 with 5, so:
First, about Brigadier from Bluegrass idk to much things about frequency but I guess it's identically.
Between Brigadier and Durascout I always choose Brigadier because of Sapphire screen and dedicated camera button. What I don't like is the back of phone.
Second, the Brigadier works very well in Romania. (I'm on Orange too) It won't work LTE but HSPA+. I have a friend which said he could make 4G work (he did it on Hydro Life) but it must root.
Until we can make root there is some Verizon services who I can't stop but I don't bother anymore coz my interest was mobile data.
In the Bluegrass version I think exist much less bloatware but it's a little expensive...
Send me a message with your telephone number to discuss more.

Sorry, I made a mistake... A confusion between Durascout and Duraforce... So Durascout is identically with Brigadier the only difference is branding (Verizon vs Kyocera). Duraforce from AT&T is the one without Sapphire screen and camera button

How To Change APN For Mobile Data On Kyocera Brigadier

Curious because normally we can do calls and sms but no data.... Only if u get a coded phone by Verizon and the things are a little complicated. From where you get the phone and how much?

How To Change APN For Mobile Data On Kyocera Brigadier
I downloaded Debloater last night and made the change to allow access to the APN Settings. At the risk of pointing out the obvious, not all cables are created equally. The first micro USB cable appeared to connect to the Brigadier, but I could connect with that software. I tried a different micro USB cable and suddenly Debloater was able to connect with the Brigadier and I made the update. So, just in case anybody here has similar problems communicating wiht the phone, give some thought to trying a different sync cable!
Are All T-Mobile Nano SIM Cards Created Equally?
As posted above, is there more than one type of T-Mobile nano SIM card? Here is why I ask. Recently I bought a Kyocera Brigadier.
-It phone works great with a Verizon nano SIM card.
-I unlocked it with Bebloater software to allow the APN settings to be changed.
-The phone works great with an AT&T SIM card.
-Today I stopped at a T-Mobile store, they removed a nano SIM card from an Apple iPhone 6 and the Kyocera Brigadier worked great.
-Later I stopped at a different T-Mobile store, activated a brand new nano SIM card and the Brigadier Kyocera turns off and on constantly with that SIM card.
So, I am just wondering why the Brigadier would work fine with SIM card that was already activated, but not with a new activation?

Sorry te hear this... Usually, all people who I spoke did it right and it always works. So I belive it's a problem with your software... Normally it should work. Try to uninstall and reinstall the software and the drivers... But if you say you see 2 greens circles idk what happens...

I got it! Maybe some bugs in the installation. The "only" thing remaining is root it. Waiting as everyone...

Great! Thanks so much, now data is fine.
I an in NZ, with 2Degrees mobile.
Phone worked for voice, but no data. (phone is version 1.102)
2 minor problems:
1) kyocera drivers have extension .MAN , need to rename to .MSI
2)Initially the usb debugging permission prompt on the phone was hidden behind some other app or something, so the ADB wasn't connecting.
So I am left with 2 issues:
- powerup FUD message: "This Sim Card is from an Unknown Source"
The fix is supposed to be to freeze the setup wizard, but I have done that from debloater, and I still get the message.

2) Can't do phone update. I suspect I need to get a verizon SIM card to do the update
Welcome!
I didn't managed to get rid of the annoying message...
For update the phone u must have an activated Verizon SIM card
Regards!

Do you think it will work OK from overseas with the verizon card?
Not sure what to get, looking on ebay, there are a confusing plethora of sim cards, many of which seem to be specific to iphone or cdma and so on.....
-------
On another note here is another Brigagdier peculiarity:
This page:
teckfront.com/enable-home-button-wake-android-kitkat-4-4-phone
shows KitKat having a setup menu item
Devices->Buttons->Home Button Wake
On the brigadier this seems to have been replaced with the "Programmable Key" item.
Any ideas to get the default Kit Kat "Buttons" option back again?
I find the power button wake pretty cack-handed and annoying, and the programmable key is not very responsive.
I have the original Verizon SIM card which the phone came with but unfortunately I cannot activate it from my country... No signal... So none of Verizon function work.
Verizon input a lot of annoying things (software) to Brigadier... I have set the red key to wake up the phone. (you must long press the button)
I think there is a lot of apps that can remap the buttons but I guess it must root...

If you like, you can post the SIM to my son in USA, and I will get him to take it to a Verizon store, and ask them to activate it.
Can't really guarantee success - anything to do with US cellphone companies seems to be problems! But anyway, probably worth the cost of an envelope....
Then he can post it back to me, and I will send it to you.
Thanks for your help but to activate the SIM it is necessary a plan to be paid so I cancelled this idea.
Regards!

They do seem to have paygo plans, and a $15 load looks like the min. $15 expires in a month, but most countries sims seem to live for 3-12 months without any load.
Todays problem is that there is no audio from my microphone to the person I am calling. My microphone is electrically and acoustically working as there is internal echo i.e. as I speak I can hear an echo coming out of the earpiece, and in speakerphone I can get feedback.
But when I call another phone, they hear nothing.
If I use sound recorder, nothing is recorded either.
Enabling everything I disabled makes no difference......
Do you know if I do a factory reset, will I need a Verizon SIM again to get the phone going?
Or can I get it working again with a local SIM?
You can do factory reset without any SIM, but I think it won't resolve anything... It might be an hardware issue. Better you can write to Kyocera about this problem. I have an annoying delay (the other person can't hear me for 1-2 seconds) after answering and another problem is a fizzle at every sounds played, even if the phone is on silent. These are software problems... So.. Good luck!

Kyocera-E4710

the Kyocera-E4710 is probably the best flip phone on the market. It's made in Japan and sold in the U.S. and Canada via a few carriers. But many people from other nations purchase it for it's rugged features that make it usable where a smartphone just can't be used. Unfortunately, some of the features, like tethering, won't work because, although it's been unlocked, it still needs the settings for the carrier (like AT&T).
I don't understand how this works but I'm sure someone on here does? I'm hoping some bright person on XDA can help the many people who have purchased this awesome handset in other nations, to be able to unlock the tethering feature. As well as to perhaps remove some features, such as the incredibly annoying AT&T address book that pops up every time you go to your contacts or add apps to the android operating system.
Any help with these issues would be so greatly appreciated!!
Kyocera-E4710 - T-Mobile Tethering
I too have purchased one of these excellent flip phones. I really want to be able to tether using T-Mobile's service. Has anyone risen to the challenge yet?

Rooting Kyocera E4710
Is it possible to root this phone? I would like to install an Android SIP client, the operator said it's not possible to install anything on it. Even though I enabled apps from Unknown Sources.

Not sure if anyone still needs to remove the AT&T address book on this phone without root BUT I managed to do it.
Enable Developer mode on the phone by clicking:
"Menu" from the home screen. Choose Settings-->System-->About Phone.
Scroll down to "Build Number" and hit the "ok" button a few times until it tells you that you're a developer.
Back up one menu and go into "Developer Options".
Enable USB Debugging. (I also enabled OEM Unlocking but I don't think this is necessary)
Next install the Universal ADB drivers onto your computer. Google will help you find them. (I used the ones from clockworkmod but I'm sure any of them would be fine.)
Connect your phone and ALLOW any of the prompts that come up.
Open up an administrative command prompt/terminal and then type "adb devices". Make sure you can see a device listed. I'll look something like:
* daemon started successfully *
6689467283 device
Next run the command:
adb uninstall --user 0 com.borqs.aabsync
You should see a "success" below.
If so run the command: adb reboot
Your phone will reboot and you can disconnect the phone from the computer at this point.
Give it a moment to start up and then hit the "down" arrow on the keypad as normal. You will likely see an empty contact list. Press the key for "Options" then choose "Contacts to display" and choose wherever you have the contacts saved. Let it load them in and you're done.
Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for posting your solution above.
Unfortunately for me I got as far as installing the adb drivers on my PC, reconnecting the phone, and no prompts came up, neither on the phone nor the PC.
I opened a command prompt window and typed "adb devices" and got the following message:
adb devices is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Any suggestions?
As long as ADB driver isn't made system-wide accessible ( i.e. got added to PATH environment variable of Windows OS ) you get the message mentioned.
My Kyocera E4710 outer screen has an alarm that I can't get to go away. I can't see who is calling me because the alarm blocks the caller info. I have a few alarms but they are all turned off and there is not a way to delete them. I've gone through the user manual and it doesn't show how to get rid of this alarm (which shouldn't show since there isn't one enabled). Does anyone know how to get rid of this alarm on the outer screen? Thanks.
