This is my first post here, so let me say Hello to all of you.
I have developed an application for monitoring sport activities with a unique feature - detecting and counting laps in real time.
It's in the Market, you can find it when you search for "lap detection" and choose Activity Assistant.
Program uses two different methods for detecting laps.
HORIZONAL LAP occurs when you return to a place already visited in this session or come near this place. On the settings screen you can choose the accuracy of the lap detection. During long winter I frequently do ice skating and I was always wondering how many laps I did on a session.
VERTICAL LAPS are the number of ascents and descents done so far. Great tool for skiers who want to know how many pistes they did a day (like myself).
In addition to LAPS COUNTER there is a classical computer which shows speed, distance and other geo info.
The track can be recorded in a gpx file and/or displayed on the map. Track files are stored on the SD card.
I know, that it needs some improvement in both functionality and the interface quality (it's v. 1.0). I'm just courious if it could be of any use to anyone. If yes, please send me your comments/requests/etc .

Can anyone recommend a sw that can log your current GPS position every xx seconds (configurable) to a file that can then be used with google earth or something similar on a PC to show your track? always having a gps with you opens up many possibilities
Have a look at Fransons GPS Gate, you get a free trial period to check it out and make sure it does what you want, to display the files it produces use GPSBabel to convert the data to the correct format to use with Google Earth - its not too difficult to get used to - Mike

I hope someone can help me with this problem:
Soon I'm going to organize a big hitchhiking event. Around 20 teams will be racing against each other to race across The Netherlands.
Every team is going to document the trip with camera's. Since I will also do the editing of the video's afterwards, I would like to show a map with the positions of the teams at several times during that day.
To achieve this, I'm searching for an app that:
- Gives real-time GPS position (uploads the GPS position every <5 minutes)
- Gives me the possibility to see each gps location on one map on PC/Mac, for example in browser (preferable with history, so I can look back later. For example: select 2:00PM and see where each team was at that time)
- Doesn't let the teams see the locations of the other teams
Does someone know if there is an app like that? Preferable an app solution that's available for both Android and iOS.

Once you will click on Start recording application will start recording your current position. Now you simply needs to move around at your location of which you want to calculate area or distance. You can click on Stop recording once you complete your measurement. . Hence application is recording your location based on your GPS position and you don’t need to specify location manually, that’s why we called this feature as GPS measurement

How to work with this app
If you feel that this lovely courtyard nearby really lacks the magic of tenants and some sculptures that you chanced to be passing will really look good with a little twist, then now you can do it right on the spot via your smartphone with the installed Shamworld app. A little left to do—to open the app and wait until your location has been found on the map using Google Maps data. Shamworld. Changing the reality
To make sure that the object has been tagged to a specific place, you need to choose an object that does not change its place, shape or color over time. That being said, it is unlikely that you can tag something to a backpack forgotten on a bench or to a cute cat sitting nearby. But it can be done easily with the bench itself.
