Hi
is there anyway to change where txt are stored I seem to be running out of space really quick. I was wondering if I could make the SD card the default location for txt to be stored there.
Or an app to push them onto the SD would be good

Did a bit of searching havent found anything.
What I am looking for is an App paid or free that will move all of my text and pic text to my SD and automatically put them there once I get a text. I have some conversations with 9,00 text back and forth ect (thats one of the higher ones.)
My Evo is running really really slow and I am thinking its cause of all of the text messages I have. Deleting isnt an option.
My Backup Pro Will Allow it Manually.

I have an app that will back up my data what I am looking for is an app that will allow me to put a mms app on my SD card so when I get a text and send it won't be on phone but on the SD card.
Not that this helps any, but why do you need to keep 9000 texts?
I just have never deleted any. Also helps me to remember past conversations I have had. I only have text from my original touch pro (8125 or model right before) until now. When I went from the touch pro 2 to the evo think it took Sprint about 7 hours to transfer stuff over.
Any suggestions on an app?
"Backup to gmail" its a paid app and it will back up to your gmail account and label each one like [sms]
It does it as it comes in

So then there isn't an sms app that can be installed on the SD card and will hold the text on the SD card. Well guess I am just going to have a slow running evo then.
Don't know how long ago it came out, but My Backup Root is on the market. From what it looks like, it's a free app.

*edit* just read what exactly you would like. I think it's just an app to back everything up.

SMS Backup & Restore will backup all your SMS in an XML file. You also have the option to restore the backup. This app however won't backup any MMS. I use Handcent to backup MMS to the sd card.
mms -> backup -> zip -> pwd protect
Ok I have run into an issue where all of my Exchange emails that contain an attachment automatically downloads to my SD card/ and of course is viewable in the gallery. I want the option to only save certain attachments, and not have 700 images on the SD card by the end of the week. Does anyone have a solution, the pain staking task of deleting all of these images each week is just too much. I thank you in advance.

It should be under the app's settings. Like pressing menu on the mail app.
In your email app: menu, settings, more, send/receive, then set the default download size.
Good luck.

Any one else having problems making the options setting to save? I keep unticking the "refresh on open" setting, but it keeps re-enabling itself.
so did the solution work?
I just got my new sensation
I want to transfer my SMS messages from my USB bricked desire (yes I've tried to fix it but no joy) but when I try the transfer via bluetooth it only offers my contacts.
Any way of doing this (bare in mind I can't connect via USB) ?
Thanks.
Did you have everything on your Desire synchronized with your Google account?

worked for me when i switched my IS to Sensation
Do they backup to the cloud ?
I need to be able to backup to the cloud, as I said the desire is bricked and so I don't have access to my SD card.
Is there an app that backups to the cloud or another method ?

That's actually a damn good question. There is an app called just "SMS Backup" that apparently backs up all of your texts to neatly-organized Labels in your Gmail account, which seems kind of nice. It doesn't appear to have any way of restoring those backed-up messages to a new phone, however. Also note that is another, similarly-named app called "SMS Backup & Restore" which only backs up an XML file to your SD Card-- that's definitely not what you want.
A somewhat wackier solution might be found thanks to this thread: http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f4/data-file-storage-location-for-sms-messages-23299/
If you can navigate with, like, Root Explorer (or some similar file-manager app with elevated access privileges), you can try to locate /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db and export that file to Gmail or Dropbox or something like that. I know ASTRO lets you share files by long-pressing it, so I'm assuming that root-privileged file-managers will do the same.
Once mmssms.db is exported, I'm not totally sure what you'd do from there. Although I hope it's just a matter of replacing the .DB file on the new phone with the .DB uploaded from the old phone, I get the feeling it might not be just that easy.
Oops! It looks like the app I was thinking about is not "SMS Backup", but "SMS Backup+" which is advertised as being able to backup to Gmail Labels as well as to restore SMS (but not MMS) to new phones. Give that a whirl.
Mate, don't give up on a fix. PM ziggy1001 for adb.commands, there are two, but in most threads only one is mentioned. Good luck.

Hi Guys
I am wanting to use a mozart7 as a 2nd phone, however, can I transfer my sms threads from my DS to Mozart through HTC Sync or an App.
I know I can copy contacts using sim card or Cloud , but was curious about the SMS threads.
Or is there an app that does it.
Cheers
Ok, scrub that question.. its not worth taking up mozart memory with old txts, so instead of backing them all up in the phone, is there a way of Viewing old txts (xml format) on my PC.
I still have the DS, but I want to clear out some old txts without losing them, so can anyone recommend a good free xml viewer for viewing txt messages in a readable format.
Thanks
Hey y'all, I was just on Whatsapp, and my friend sent me an image.I saw the pic and deleted it.. Now to be quite honest with you guys, I could get in trouble for some of those images if anyone were to grab hold of my phone and go through it....eek!!
I went to my gallery and deleted the pics.. (just to be sure i went to Whatsapp folder in SD card and checked the Image folder nothing was there)
Is it safe it assume that i have safely deleted the pic.
Or is it saved in whatsapp server and can be retrived?
Also when i clear my conversation? Is it fully cleared? Or can that also be got back?
Thanks
all the messages, pics and videos are stored on your sd card...so you cannot retrieve it once deleted
