While I have my phone plugged into the wall it'll charge at idle. But if im playing zynga poker while it's plugged in, the battery will drain. Now while im playing I notice the battery gets pretty hot. Doesnt drain while im surfing the web or using xda developers app and such. Not sure why this is happening. The battery is only about a couple months old. Verizon gave me a new battery when I called in for a replacement phone.
Anyone have any ideas for this?
Sent from my Droid Charge using Humble 5.0
It could be because it is charging and useing an app that uses a lot of battery and functions of the phone. I really have no idea though. Just a thought.

Could be that, this is my 3rd droid charge. Not sure if my battery drained on the last ones

Phone is using more power than the wall is providing. Are you using the OEM charger?

I've noticed if I use very processor and data intensive apps while plugged it my phone will get a little warm

Charging current is controlled by the kernel. It's using more power than is allowed by the kernel. This is fairly common for me-especially when I'm hammering the LTE radio. When you want it to charge faster, leave it alone.

Alright good, atleast I know it isn't a problem now. Just making sure my phone isn't crapping out on me.
Thanks everyone
Sent from my Droid Charge using Humble 5.0
Yep, I think it's regulated at 800ma by kernel so it sounds like you have too much juice-sucking apps.
Your battery charges best if your phone is powered off.

As the title said, my phone was never charged to 100%, it is always 96% or 97% mostly. Anyone can tell me the reason?

They only charge to 96-98 for real. It is very unsafe to actually charge these batteries to 100% when it does chargd to 100% it usually drops to 98 when unplugged. 100% is more for looks.

OK I am understand. Thanks for your reply!
Why?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
A) Youre charging from a USB port which doesnt supply much power so if you use the phone while its charging the phone drains faster than it charges.
B) Youre using a charger that was originally intended intended for low power devices like bluetooth headsets in which case the same reason already given applies.
Also, wrong section.
Sorry, also I'm using the charger it came with but I'm using 2 USB extention cables

i would imagine that it would probably be one of those extensions that is slowing it down because it cannot handle the AMPs. see which one is "hot" and thats probably the one.
Ill try, thanks

What's the purpose of the extention? If you're trying to find a good place for wireless tethering, that could very well be draining your batteries.
Is there anything else you can try charging with the current setup for comparison?

Yesterday I was off charger for 4 hours, plugged in my phone and got the signal that my phone was fully charged. Now five minutes off the charger and I am down 2 percent.
In addition, I ran Tunein Radio, and Navigation and I was losing 5 percent of battery an hour, even though I was plugged into a charger. Thoughts?

What amperage is your charger my boy are you using the stock one from the SR or not if you are is it making a high pitched noise if your not again amperage is important if your using anything under 1amp it might not charge if your using your phone especially

Okay. With the LG Rev, and a Rom, we could easily get by with stock.
Lots to learn about Sammys

OK my skyrocket vis having a problem I've never seen before. It doesn't fully charge. I'll leave it on the charger over night and it will stay on 20% and never goes past it. I tired different batteries, chargers even those separate battery chargers. I tired different ROMs still no luck. Also tired returning to stock but I get stuck at loop.

How's the battery drain when you unplug? Does it sit at 20% for, well, hours on end, or does it start dropping to 19% within an hour or so?
I'm wondering if it's just your battery meter glitching out, not so much the batteries themselves. Tried wiping the battery stats yet?
I'm thinking the same tj software I say try going back to stock again but this time follow the guide step by step

This. Go to stock, root, then wipe battery stats. Charge the battery to 100% with phone off then leave it for another 30 mins. Turn the phone on and use the Battery Calibration app (rooted) to start the calibration, then use the phone normally and take it all the way down to 0%. Repeat with the other two batteries before switching off of stock. That should go a long way towards solving the problem.
Stuff
I went to GB stock, charged with phone off for over 8 hours, says only 30 percent life. The charger i used is OEM samsung and works fine with my other phone
Dunno take it back

I usually charge it off my PC with no problems or from my wall. Yesterday I flashed hyperdrive ROM and the phone went from 23% to 0%. I assumed the battery needed calibrated so I did just that. It was on the charger for 8 hours and got to 20%. I flashed bone stock ROM with stock kernel and now I'm losing percentage on charge

Try a different cable
Another cable should do the trick. I had the same problem and used an old, thicker LG cable and it fixed it.
