Hi,
When I try to copy via usb somes files transfer crash and I have to disconnect phone and then pull battery because phone can't shut down. It write shuting down and it let this a long time.
More sdcard sometimes fail to mount at phone start (with all ROM even stock one) but not at every boot.
So does someone already had that or is there a way to fix ?
I tried to change sdcard, data cable and format sdcard and it's always the same.
It seens to work when I have only one partition on my sdcard but if I add a second in ext2 it dosn't work.
So problem come with ext part. Someone know how to fix ?
EDIT : After some test it seens that it's bug even with 1 part.

OOOOPs i seem to have done something wrong
i installed a fj build from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490598&page=2
to get the numbers in UK instead of US format
and now the phone does not load /
I had jf rc9 root and bootloader have tried a wipe and reload with no luck.
Please help !??!
reinstall a different JF build you should be fine, unless you had your apps moved to your SD card and then you need to push the modifued mountd.conf and init.rc and make sure that /system/sd exists
how do you get access to sd card with usb without turning phone on? as cannot get popup on my computer to install a new build ?
i can load system recovery and bootloader screen with usb cable attached but cannot access on pc? - sorry probably an obvious solution have missed - mount / unmount facility
i can see removable disk in my computer but when i try to open states:
please insert a disk into drive E:
but is coming up that a mass storage device is connected
tubaking182 is a star.
prob sorted. opened sd with another phone.. got new build and installed it again.
done ! *phew*
Hello!
I'm running CM7 RC2.
I woke up today and saw on the notification bar Damaged USB storage
when I press on it I have 2 options 1- format 2- cancel.
what should I do?
I don't wanna lose my data...?
That's unfortunate but then its afterall extended storage & over a period of time it does go corrupt - that partition is essentially vFat. There is this utility at /system/bin/fsck_msdos which is eitherway invoked during bootup. You could try running that from adb shell but I wouldn't count too much on it - there is a limit to what it can fix. Formatting is the best option. I hope you do make regular back-ups.
Hello!
I boot into the recovery mode will my phone is pluged into the USB port hit reboot and now it's working all over again...
I now backup my camera files and my music...
Any resone for that error...? did I do something worng?
Not really but like I said its storage after all - read/write ops causes modification in the file-table & should that be abrupted for some reasons leaving incomplete entries & leading to such behaviors. On a reboot, fs-check utility must have fixed it.
I have hade the same problem today: error "damaged storage", recovery mode cannot mount or format /sdcard, i've paniced alot, but i came home nearly 1 a.m, so i hadn't much time and all important data was backuped.
I went to recovery mode, mounted usb mass storage and formated internal storage with default windows' utility.
Looks like it worked.
UPD +half an hour:
Probably it was issue with Ressurection Remix ROM. After format sdcard was mounted, but cycle reboots didn't stopped. After installing SlimICS ROM, it fully worked.
Full story here, if you are interested.
I forgot that after oem unlock all data + sdcard is wiped out. So i had some photos that i need to recover from that device. Is there any thing that i can do to recover them. Any good software alternatives?. I tried testdisk but it couldn't do much , since it couldn't detect partition table type. Currently i am using PC Inspector File Recovery, but lets c what happens. Meanwhile I need some recommendation from the forum?
I don't know if it can help you but take a look at Recuva from Piriform (less than 10 posts, cannot paste a link :'( )
Don't transfer data to the sdcard. Use cwm to mount the sdcard to a computer. Then use a couple of different recovery apps to try and piece your drive back together through the comp.
Its not a thorough wipe so as long as you don't write to the sdcard you should get a decent amount back. This is the most important step. Even booting into android could force writes you don't want.
I am in through CWM
Yeah I am mounting USB via CWM, actually i wanted to copy all the data to the pc and then install CM9 but i saw that there was nothing else remaining
Let see what happens I will be using some recovery software. I will be reporting back if I find something that works better than others
Hello folks, yesterday I installed 4.2.2 update (ubranded with MG8 ending, i9105p), everything is working fine, with exception to my SD card.
In Settings -> Storage it doesn’t shows up, and the "mount" button is greyed out, just like no card was inserted. The SD card itself is working (checked on other devices), it uses FAT partition (I even tried to re-formate it) and, since the Recovery can acces (and eventualy flash files) from it, Android OS doesn’t see it. I tried mounting via ADB but I have no previous experience with it. I also tried wiping cache.
I’m gonna try re-flashing another firmware tommorow, I hope it will work. :cyclops:
But is there any easier way to fix it? Thx
UPDATE: The card was working fine after re-flashing, but sometimes when copying files on it, File manager hangs, and files wont copy. This issue also unmounts the SD and makes it unable to be mounted until you restart. Propably some sort of kernel issue? (According to testing and 1+ year of trouble-free expirience with the card on another device this doesnt look like a malfunctionic card)
Hi there,
So I have my good old OnePlus One, but its got a few issues and I wanna fix them.
The problems are that apps suddenly crash. Facebook Messenger and YouTube (only when casting) are the main two. I assume this is caused by dirty flashing between versions of CM13. The other issue is that the phone will lose all mobile data connections randomly and the only way to bring it back is to reboot the phone, aeroplane mode or 3/4G toggling doesn't fix the issue. My guess is that maybe the modem is incorrect?
I want to do a full reflash of CM13 by Jgcap, its the current ROM I'm using. I also want to format the partitions to F2FS because the ROM supports it and I've wanted to move to F2FS a few times but something usually goes wrong.
I'm using the official 3.0.2-0 TWRP but I cannot get it to mount ADB/USB at all, the PC detects that a 'Google Nexus ADB Interface' device has been connected but doesn't come up with any storages. Changing which partition which is mounted has no effect. So if I did format the partitions to F2FS, I wouldn't be able to put the ROM back onto the internal storage as the PC isn't seeing any storage devices.
My plan is to do a clean reflash of the CM13 and have the correct partitions formatted to F2FS, but because of the above issues, I cannot change the file system to F2FS because in any file system, the PC cannot see any storage devices when I mount TWRP and connect the USB.
It seems I have some issues with the USB driver. Even when I'm just in windows and normally connecting the phone when its in android, the USB seems to not work first time. If I connect my phone, it will show as 'A0001' in Device Manager but with an exclamation mark next to it. If I then unplug and replug the phone in, it will then work fine without issues. This has been the case with this phone since I got it, the above workaround means I can connect the phone to the PC for file transfer but it is annoying!
So I guess my questions are, how can I reinstall all types of correct USB drivers for the phone? and also which TWRP version should I use for the ADB/TWRP file transfer to put a ROM on the phone after formatting to F2FS? Flashing the firmware, ROM and Gapps etc, I have no issue with.
Sorry If this is hard to read, piecing it all together is frustrating.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
