New to flashing roms on the sensation, but not new to flashing roms in general. (Had a Desire before) and i just flashed Virtuous Sensation as it seemed the most stable from what i could see but an hour after i have done so, it has frozen twice. Why is that? do I need to flash a new kernel??

Did you do a clean install? Superwipe? Try wipeing cache and dalvik then re-install Rom and reboot immediately after. Meaning don't flash any other mods before rebooting.
Let me know if you are beyond these steps.
i have just played arround whit my rom an it didt the same found out that it was some tweak script there didt the freez
after removing the script it hasnt done it again

Hi,
I can not this ROM to work. I have done a clean wipe. It loads up the first time but on the first reboot reboot it gets stuck at the white htc screen.
If I wipe cache and dalvik cache it works once again but still won't get past a reboot.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try downloading the ROM again. Sounds like a bad package
Good luck!

I already tried that. In fact I downloaded and tried the other ROM at that link (which is the same but with a couple of system apps removed) which gave me exactly the same problem.
In fact, now I think about it. I once tried an Oxygen ROM a few months ago that I believe also worked on the first boot but wouldn't come back on after a restart.
Any more ideas?!

Hmm. I wonder if it's your Recovery. What version CWM are you running? The latest for your phone?
I ended up giving up on this ROM and installed this stock rooted ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200261&page=1 which has been extremely stable.
Hi,
I can't post to the Android Revolution HD Dev forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
because I don't have the minimum posts required
Anyway, last week I updated the stock rom with the 3.6.3 Revolution HD.
I did the recommended procedure with the Super Wipe script, etc.
Everything worked very good and the 3.6.3 was stable. Few days ago 3.6.4 was released I flashed it but without super wipe since in the notes was written that if the update is done from 3.6.X version, no super wipe is needed. The update went OK but 3.6.4 wasn't so stable. My Sensation started rebooting occasionally. After I flashed back the 3.6.3 version (no super wipe again) everything is back to normal - the phone is stable, no rebooting.
Have I missed anything or there is a bug in 3.6.4?
Can someone answer or re-post this to the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849 forum?
Thanks a lot!
I've used that rom before with no issues so far... doing exactly what you did... no super wipe if upgrading... sounds like might be a bad download or something went wrong in the flashing...

Hi,
There are no bugs in the ROM,but there are kernel issues.
You could upgrade the stock 3.6.4 kernel to THIS ONE
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP.
Wipe cache partition and dalvik.
Kernels are flashed in recovery like a ROM.

I just flashed it.
Amazing feature in the forum...lol. Went to post a similar question on the new update and up pops this thread. You guys are too smart for me...gonna have to go back and hang out over at TF forums...
I have had this problem for two roms and its really annoying. After flashing firmware 3.32.401.x for Vorbeths ics rom, I keep getting frozen out of my phone every time I lock it. It won't turn back on and I have to do a battery pull to get it on again. After having trouble with this i went to Mike's stock ICS rom for the Sensation and i restarted fresh (factory reset, reinstalled 3.32.401.x firmware and wiped dalvik). This time it would freeze after a couple minutes after I locked phone. Can anyone help?
Did you just do a full wipe from the recovery, or did you use the SuperWipe script by Mike...?
Didnt use superwipe
was i supposed to use superwipe? The problem is that it has been happening on any rom with 3.32 software. Does my phone not want to play nice?
Hello,
I was running the CM10 Alpha 2 for my GSII. Alpha 3 came out so I decided to update. I installed the newest CWM and the alpha 3 package, gapps and darkside wipe.
When installing I had no problems that I noticed. Everything said it worked fine. However, once rebooting the phone after darkside wipe finished, I couldn't boot up my phone. I can get past the Samsung screen, but I don't even make it to the CM animation boot screen.
I decided to pull the battery after waiting a while and go back into recovery. I did this and decided to restore my backup. My phone is stuck on "Restoring .android_secure" right now and will not work.
I can use Odin to flash back to ICS and how to came but I'm wondering why it didn't work? I know I did the procedure right, as I did it when flashing CM10 alpha 1, 1a and 2. I read about needing the latest CWM for it so I got that, too. A bit of a weird issue that I'd post in the CM10 thread if I had over ten posts.
Thanks in advance to those who can help!

I followed basically the same pattern and didn't have an issue, aside from the fact that I didn't Darkside wipe (if you are using the latest clockwork touch I don't think it's necessary anymore). I also flashed the instigator kernel (6.2.1) but that was after I rebooted without issue.
Sidenote, the instigator 6.2.1 seems to possibly have some overheating trouble, so I am running the Darkside Hercules kernel for the moment, and it seems to be working well.

Yeah, reading the thread it seems like a pretty rare problem. Somebody actually posted something similar yesterday that I missed and nobody really knew. I wasn't sure if I should Darkside wipe or not so I chose to anyways. I haven't tried flashing a new kernal but as I said I can't even get to the boot animation.

I would stay away from the darkside wipe, it has been reported through many threads that it can sometimes lead to problems when installing a rom. Your best bet is to just wipe data, format system, wipe dalvik cache, either format /cache or use Darksidewipe.cache not the darkside wipe that's wipes everything. Then install rom and gapps. Reboot phone and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, (i usually let it sit 10). From there you can decide if you want to flash one of the two available kernels, results may very with the two.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to try it within the next few days. Right now I have SKY-ICS going fine but I'll definitely try that.
What do the different kernels do?

I used TWRP and flashed over CM9 with no problems. Did it as an upgrade. Wipe system> install CM10> install gapps> Wipe cache
Several people have reported that TWRP worked for them.
i switched from arhd to cm10, and now i'm planning to switch back to arhd...
what do i need to do? and cm10 kept on being weird by music not working, costant freezes. yes i understand everyone has a diffrerent experience
do i flash a new radio?
super wipe?

You can superwipe when going to an Sense ROM, though it's probably not needed. Don't ever superwipe when coming from Sense and going to AOSP though.
You can use 4EXT to do a full wipe (everything but SD card) and just install ARHD.
You don't have to change firmware or radio. Just flash the ROM and you'll be good.
