Okay so I was having all kinds of touch screen issues, with the lock screen and in general the display wasn't recognizing swipes and was constantly opening Widgets and apps on the home screens. So I went to do a warranty exchange and took off my Tpu blue argyle case and after a reboot everything went back to normal so just thought I would post(even though this probably won't help anyone)there is a chance that it might. Please post your responses whether this helps or not and if your phone has been naked all it's life and still having problems.I usually always have my phone naked in a Nexus one pouch as I bought a bunch of them and like the protection they offer.

Thanks for contribution, but this is NOT a fix, trust me. Not for most people anyway.
Your a little to late to the dance my friend. This has been said multiple times over the past 6 weeks. Works for some and not for others. A lot of people also report that after a while, the problems come back whether the case is on or not.

Right on no biggie, that's why in my post I said this most likely wouldn't help anyone I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed a difference and if it came back, and like you said it does so thanks.I just thought it was odd that a case was causing problems,I was also having wifi problems and since I took the case off those too have been resolved so I guess I have to wait and seen if there is a direct correlation or couincidence as I didn't have any issues pre case.

The case is blocking some of the WiFi signal. I know its not much but a piece of rubber is enough to **** up a already weak signal.

I owned 2 sensations and both of them i returned for that same problem.
No matter how many resets or messing around with settings the screen woldnt register my touch after about a week and a half.
Im going for the mytouch 4g slide now and pray it works fine lol
I no longer have the problem after removing bloat ware and putting on a screen protector. Not sure which one fixed the problem. Try both!

Right on,thanks for the apology and I appreciate the info, your right it's common sense and it's just I have read of sooo many people complaining about this phone (death grip, poor wifi, touch screen issues, random reboots)and I hadn't experienced any of them until last week when I bought a case and for the last week I have had problems until today and when I took of the case off presto all MY problems disappeared.Which is odd since my wife has a similar case and has used it since launch and never had any issues.I just normally never use a case with any of my devices and haven't for a few years.

There's some things I would do if I were you just for precaution.
1. Turn "Tell HTC" off. Its a setting under "About Phone". A lot of people have reported improved touch sensitivity and speed.
2. Take your battery out and keep it out over night.
Those two things seem to be fixing the issues the most.

I encountered the laggy unlock ring problem about 2 weeks after I got the phone. It lasted about a week and then went away. I haven't had any problems for almost a month now. I've never put a case on my phone, but I did disable all HTC syncs and disabled most HTC and Tmobile apps.

Lol, I think that you've hit the nail on the head - it sure is a sexy bit of kit
use a case, maybe it helps... I'm living in a all year summer country but don't have any sweat to my phone
I think that the satin black finish on mine seems to accentuate even the slightest fingerprint, but it does look nice!
Never faced the sweat issue although I'm in India. Felt it very slippery when using with one hand. Bought a Casemate barely there case and it is now very nice to hold in one hand.

I must say I like the looks of this phone very much, but after having dropped it (fortunately on soft surfaces) a couple of times, I decided to sacrifice beauty for safety and got a hard case called "casemate". Believe me it's definetly worth. It is reasonably thin, covers the corners and has a rubbery texture that gives good grip.
on the downside, of course you wan't be seeing the sexy logo on the back anymore...
Doesn't it degrade your wifi and phone signal? I have a casemate
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
I definetly is better than holding the phone by it's metal parts. I've tried, with relative success (maybe it's just my impression) using reverse landscape (capacitive keys to the left), like this I can hold the phone without toucing any metal parts. Check it out and see if it works for you.

My wife was changing the battery on her sensation and didn't get it all the way in. When she was putting the back case on the pressure caused the screen to crack! I admit it is dissapointing that this happened with such little force. My theory is that without the back cover the screen has very little support... Anyways I just thought I would put that out there into the sensation knowledgebase so people hopefully can avoid this mistake. I have never seen a phone this vulnerable to changing a battery!
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
I thought it was pretty obvious that the back cover isn't only a cover but the actual frame that accounted for the majority of the structural integrity of the device.
I just think its a shame that you can crack the screen by changing the battery.... My wife and I have had a total of 7 different android phones and I have never seen one that was vulnerable to changing a battery! Just thought people should know to be MORE careful with this particular phone because of the design.

I don't think that will fix the problem. Your replacement will most likely get the same results
It wont solve the issue. I went thru 7 G2s all with dust under the screen. Im telling you you will get use to it. HTC qc sucks ass.

I was thinking about doing it until the limited warranty ends
I've heard of people complaining about this "issue" a lot now, but I've never experienced it. I've had an HTC DREAM (ADP1), HTC VISION, and now my GF has an HTC DOUBLESHOT. There has never been an issue with dust under the screen. I would suggest that it may, therefore, be related to EXPOSURE to dust. Possibly related to how you protect the phone. Do you keep your phone in a clean pouch? Or do you drop it in your pocket along with whatever other cruft you may be walking around with? Do you work in a particularly dusty environment?
In any case, the issue would be that the digitizer sits above the LCD. The only place where dust could conceivably get to that would be visible as "under the screen" is between the digitizer and the LCD. You should be able to disassemble the phone and wipe it out (after warranty expires). Until then, use warranty, and then protect the phone from dust.
I've never had issues with dust under my screen, but then again I've always kept my phones in a G1 pouch
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-HTC-Google-Phone-Pocket/dp/B001OOEQJ2
The only time I've had an issue was when I took apart my MyTouch 3G slide and touched underneath the screen and got prints all over it and put it back together without realizing it, so that was entirely my fault..
No dust for me. Have my phone on me 24/7 in an extremely dusty environment. I am a powder coater
I am usually covered head to toe, with powdercoat and metal dust. Kept loose in my pocket and I use it 3-4times an hour to check the time.

Never had any dust in mine either, but I pouch mine like RazoE and take absurdly good care of it. Used to have a G1 that I bought used and it never had any dust either.
The earpiece on this phone is kinda big; perhaps dust is making its way in from there?

Upon further inspection, it seems this might actually be the port of entry; see attached photo.
The glowing blueish area in the red rectangle is the LCD, pretty much open to whatever can make its way in, i.e. dust. There is another opening similar to this further down the track between the screen and keyboard and you can see it pretty well if the screen is lit up.

Or just ignore it and enjoy your phone. Does it do it during normal use, or just after you pressed hard on the corners because the OP told you to?
If it moves and makes a noise every time you TOUCH your screen during normal use, I would say it's an issue. If you have to force it by pressing hard, I wouldn't worry about it. Basically did you notice it before the OP brought it up?
It's really not a big deal or even noticeable unless you actually look for an issue...plus the case covers it up...and if you are concerned about something like this, you ought to be using a case anyways, ha.

If its annoying you then replace it, you just run the gamble of having some other issue that people are having. I personally think because of how hard I usually am to my phones and because I don't use a case this thing is going to be creaking and making all kinds of sounds in no time so I just wont care about it now.
Its like your first brand new car HAS to be perfect and you take it back for every rattle or squeak, by the 4th or 5th you think of it more as a tool that serves a function in your life and the squeaks and rattles don't take priority.
A brand new, freshly delivered, white hox and an equally new gray hox. Neither one has banding,.light bleed or squeaky corners. My squeaky inspire was horrible. And yesterday the volume rocker decided to fall off of the inspire as well.

Can't speak for the OP, but I think some people are intentionally looking for problems with the phone. i.e. doing things that wouldn't occur during normal operation, such as pushing down on the screen edges.

I looked for it on this phone because, like dust under the screen, it seems to follow HTC around from device to device.
I'm not one to freak out over little stuff like this, but I just wanted to get the info out there in case it wasn't an isolated incident/defect on MY device.
I'm having the same issue on the bottom left corner. It started to randomly make a clicking noise and then I found this topic. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one but I would rather have a perfect phone!!
I've also noticed the small gap in the lower left allows a little bit of light out so out looks like the seal isn't perfect, hence the clicking too I guess.
I would return it to HTC but after reading other people's posts, it's likely that I could just get another bad one.
Sigh. £400 and it still has issues.
The bottom left of my HTC One X has a little give but I dont think its anything major that should be taken very seriously
