just got the new charge and can not figure out how to get my pictures i take to store to sd card. any ideas would be nice getting very frustrated
thanks
They should automaticly be saved to /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/Camera
or are you talking about the external sdcard ( the one you can take out?)
Does the droid charge have one?
yes i am talking about an external card, it came with 16 internal, 32 gig external

I've read 2 different things about how much memory the Captivate will see. Does anyone know for sure if it's 48 or 32 gigs?
I put my 32Gb Sandisk in my Captivate today...and it mounted ok, all 21Gb of installed music and movies on that card seemed to work fine, based on my random sampling.
Keep in mind that it makes a "fake" /sd directory in the root of the internal /sdcard, and that points to the external storage when using an Android file explorer like Astro. And also keep in mind that there's a lot of apps that just don't know about this directory, so they can't "see" the external storage.
Windows sees two distinct storage devices, however, as it should be.
It has build in internal 16GB (2GB of that is reserved for apps) rest 14GB is data for whatever, Plus whatever Micro SDHC card you will add.
16+16 SD = 32GB
16+32 SD = 48GB
I have put 16GB micro SDHC to it (32GB cards are to expensive) connected to windows i get two drive letters one for Internal 14GB Data partition and one for my own 16GB card.
Hope that helped you.

Yep the ATT site spec sheet says 32gb is supported by the phone. And from all appearances it does indeed seem to work with the phone just fine.
Now the real question. Who is going to tear apart the phone and replace the internal SD card (since I assume it's literally an internal microSD card as seen in other devices) with a 32 GB card and see if it can handle 32+32 GB.

you seem like a willing volunteer
hmm if only i had two 32gb sd cards i would but they expensive
The real reason for replacing the internal SD card would be because it's so damn slow.
I agree with the slow part hence the mods to change the cache onto the external which speed up the phones.... any word on if the internal SD card is replaceable or not? If it is, that would be great news as its definately not as fast as a class 6 card and replacing it with one would definately speed things up.

Haha, exactly that. If I had the money for two 32 GB cards I'd try.
Edit Hmm... I saw a tear down of the Galaxy S and I didn't see an internal microSD card, so maybe it doesn't use a card like the Streak. Might be built in and unable to swap. Oh well!
How do you upgrade from the 2 G card installed to a 16G card. Can anyway explain this. I'm new to androidand need more storage. I know how to do it but don't want to lose any info
well you need to first buy a 16 gig card.
you then may want to format it either on your computer or on your phone before making use of it.
The microsd card fits into the phone underneath the sim card upside down (gold contacts face up). You should see them when you remove the 2 gig one.
it's spring loaded so you just push it in and it will pop out some (then you have to get a grip on it pull it out the rest of the way)
You have to remove your battery to get to the sim card. If you don't know how to take the back case off there should be a small indent on one of the corners where you can stick your thumbnail. Use that to pull the back cover off.
to format it on the phone after it's been put in you have to unmount it, then you can format it.
don't format your internal sd card by accident (that would lose you whatever is on that guy's 14ish gigs of space)
also the data on the 2 gig card can be put on your computer and then swapped to the 16 gig using the microsd card adapter that came with your phone and a card reader (or you just can hook the phone up to your computer and put it into usb storage mode)
When i first bought my phone I put in an old 2g card I had , but nowe I want to buy a bigger size one maybe a 16g , but my question is would I be able to transfer everything from my old one to my new one? if so how?
If you have a card reader, just copy the contents from the old card to the new. If not and you can only use your phone as a card reader just copy the contents from the card to your computer and then back on to the new card.
what jsapp said. though if you don't have a card reader you could always just transfer the content on your old SD card to the internal memory of your tablet then onto the new card. would take longer but it'll do the trick.

Tablet? Huh?
A few months ago, I purchased a 32 GB Class 10 Micro SD card. It went bad a few days ago and I cannot get anything to read it.
The issue is this: because I have no sd card inside my phone, I can't take pictures, listen to music, etc. However, I recall doing something to make my micro sd card the primary storage, where before it was the internal sd card that stored all the pictures and music.
What can I do to revert to making the internal sd card the primary storage location for all my files?
Thanks for any help.
What kind of phone do you have?

G2X. I am currently running the latest CM7 Nightly.
Hey I know this is a pretty simple question, but it's one of those "I'm way overthinking it" kind of things.
I bought a 16 gb micro SD card, and I want to put all the music on my phone, onto that.
I have the HTC Evo 4g LTE, and I'm currently running AOKP rom.
I have a few songs on my phone at the minute, but I'm trying to save space on the internal memory, so I'm trying to get it on the micro SD.
I plug it into my computer and set it to Mass USB storage, but it's bringing up my SD card as my CD drive and I can't modify anything on it.
Not a major problem, but I would really like to know how to do it, thanks!
