Anyone got USB-host to work on the Nexus S with Android 4.0.3?
I tryed to connect mouse, keyboard, usbmemory, Hd. But nothing.
Do I need to mount it manualy?
you think too much
No I just wanted to know if it possible?
im with 4.0.3
bump
Don't think that USB-host is compiled in to stock ICS for Nexus S.
There is probably a custom ROM out there that can do it.

Ezekeel tried to make it work for his kernel. Said it was missing a lot of files before being able to make it work. I'm not aware of any working OTG solution for the Nexus S yet.
Are there now more chances, to get USB Host working on Nexus S with it beeing enabled on Galaxy S: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450298 ?
It would be awesome if it would work. There's supposed to be patches that are very generic according to some modaco post somewhere.

Ive currently been running NexusMod ICS Zero Build 2 Rev.12 (Beta 12) for a few weeks now and im wondering if anyone knows of a ICS kernel that would allow OTG functionality? Most of the kernels in the dishevelment section are for GB, I know Romracer has one for his ICS build but im not sure how to extract the kernel from the zip.
Please any info would be great
Coming from the Captivate section where everything is just laid out has spoiled me I guess...
I think romracers ics kernel is in the same thread as his GB kernel, iirc.

until source is released for Skyrocket ICS, no. Nothing can be added really until then. That's why you haven't been seeing the threads, not really any to make. Mohan has been starting work on a custom kernel from the international version source, but it's very alpha at this point. Soon as we get official ICS, Sammy should follow soon with our source, then progress on stuff like this, BLN, OC/UV, etc will really start cranking out quickly.
Thank both of you for the replies. I think I found a work around by installing toggle15. OTG is finally working for me..either that or it was a crappy cable

Hi,
I don't know and I'm wondering what is the problem with having AOSP fully working on - for example - HTC One S once kernel source is released.
Could someone briefly explain the problem and what in general must be done to port AOSP to a device (having device, original drivers and kernel)?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge

...If you want an unofficial Alpha version
I know that there are AOSP based builds. Buth there is always something not working - liek camcorder.
And I just want to know why is it so? Some tech explanation behind that? Is kernel source and drivers is not enought?
I didn't port AOSP to any device so I am curious what is the reason
Im using the PAC man ROM any way can get HDMI out to work?
iknow nexus 4 has hdmi out so ?
So what are the files for HDMI out on nexus 4 ? Can any one tell me?
It got disabled because of some bug and I think its something to do with the kernel.
from what i heard it is a kernal related issue. im hoping it gets fixed as well soon
Hey guys am looking for some way to add OTG support without downloading a seperate app to mount the USB something like how CyanogenMod does it.
Maybe some sort of flash-able zip or xposed module.
Thanks.
It can be done using custom roms or kernels. Otherwise, using apps.
Xposed modules ARE apps. Nonetheless. This wouldnt help you.

I am rooted using SlimKat's Rom on my Nexus 5. I use my Meenova (OTG) with no additional download application. I can view everything with a file manager. I use Root Explorer, but several others work fine. SlimKat & USB OTG work out of the box. Others will need an app like Stickmount or Nexus File Manager. Good luck..
NEXUS 5
Any idea what Kernels have Automount OTG?
Depends on what rom you're using. Best to read the op of all the kernels
I know chaos does but now its a CAF only kernel

AICP + n3ohammer or elementalX also has built in support for OTG...

Got TWRP installed, and am trying to find a good ROM. Looks like the only active development is KatKiss ROMs? These appear to be incompatible with the 301T. Otherwise, I could only find JB ROMs. Anyone know of anything newer that will work?
I don't think there's been much development for the memo pads. If you're OK with loosing it you could try a TF300 rom, but I doubt it'll boot or work well for that matter....

Actually, I just noticed that Tim has a ME301 comparability pack for his KitKat rom. Check the Development section. Lucky you - his roms are among the best
