i tried to Google and search here for any answers but i couldn't find a clear one!
my question is pretty simple, if i flash the phone with its original stock ROM would that unlock the phone to be used on other network?
They sell the phone here in Egypt but its locked to the Mobinil network
but its damn cheap, so i'm considering buying really soon, so any help would be appreciated

Hi Guys,
I had bought a Motorola Mpx 220 at Ebay. The Problem is, that device has a ONE Lock. I've search at google, but no functional solutions founded. Have any one here a good solution for me.

It is locked to Hungary/Pannon GSM (i think the carrier ID is 216-20)

hi there i recently have purchased a motorola defy which is locked to the T-mobile uk network i am trying to unlock it so i have a few questions for you guys. I have already purchased unlock codes of two unlock code websites and both gave me the same unlock code which neither work,also i have been into a local mobile phone shop that unlocks phones but they were wanting to keep the phone for a week and charge me £35 . Can someone give me some advice for instance can i unlock it myself? if i root it will that unlock it? cheers in advance!!

Hi there no i havent had any luck in unlocking the phone the i have been in touch with the ppl that sent me the unlock code and they say that the codes provided are 100% genuine so im all out of ideas.

If the phone is no longer under contract (the old owner finished out the contract, or the phone was bought full price, or whatever) they are pretty helpful with unlocking them, at least in the USA.
agreed. call the carrier and if your nice and have been with the carrier long enough they usually can help you out.
My Defy came from Argentina... No chances to get an unlock code... Does anyone know another way to unlock Defy? Actually mine is just like an IPod

Hi, I'm from Argentina and got a Defy, is yours from
"Personal" or "Claro" (Carrier) ?.
Mine was from "Personal" and I've unlocked it here in
Argentina with a store is sale the codes to unlock and since that, I can use it with my carrier (Movistar) without any problem
Mine is "persona"l... But I'm in Brazil... I've been trying unlock it about a mounth but with no sucess...
try to buy an unlock code...

I am really new to android , switch from iphone to Motorola XT720 .
I just bought one today but its unlocked to Videotron in canada to work on Rogers service provider.
My question is :
Is theres a way similar to jailbreak and sim unlock for iphone to unlock my moto phone . or I need unlock code?
I did found online things about superoneclick which gives root access and some other software , some other people said something about loading the phone with a rom , not 100% how this works .

no, you are getting those things mixed up
you are trying to SIM unlock, which we have not yet found in this forum
that means you will need an unlock code from Videotron, which i know they will not give you one
all of the above aside
this phone works in 1700+2100, that means it is not really compatible with Rogers, unless you plan to only use Voice calls
Rogers / Fido runs on 850+1900 for 3G
that's assuming you manage to get the unlock code from Videotron

I have not been able to find anyway to unlock the phone so far, but i know that if you have 3 months of service with Videotron they will just give you the unlock code.

Videotron has good service i know this in it's self is an oxymoron....
After all an ISP with great customer satisfaction self... at that price LOL!
The first thing i asked for was the unlock they promised me after 3 months i would get it!
And i did!!
Bt the unlock codes are handset specific... so mine would do you no good....

Huawei g300 unlock
Hi all,
I bought the phone from Vodafone and was told that it's unlocked. Well it's not.
I want to use my new giff gaff sim as they have great bargains (no customer service and worse reception as well sadly)
And I can't use it.
Googled the hell out of the topic and no success.
So far I've unlocked a lot of phones thanks to the forums and google but no luck in finding anything free in regards to g300.
Could someone please help me?

As this phone doesn't really have its own dedicated area in the forum , i just felt this is the right place to ask for help.
I own this device which was bought on contract from orange romania , and unfortunately it is sim locked.
I have contacted htc regarding this issue and they checked my IMEI but they said that my phone doesn't appear to be locked nor branded by any carrier. In other words , this phone has got a lock on it , but it wasn't htc that put it there, but orange romania.
Do you know any way to unlock it? I would go into a service store but it's hard to find somebody that is capable of unlocking my phone, i have already tried 3 stores in my area and all of them returned a negative result.
I live in italy so i can't go back to orange and ask them to unlock my phone. Even so, if you're still on contract , they charge you 100€ to unlock your device, which is absolutely insane , my phone costs NEW , UNLOCKED 130 € on ebay.
Therefore , any thoughts? I'm willing to test some stuff if you have any idea. Of course , i wouldn't want to brick my phone as i really doubt i can find someone to unbrick it around here, but anyway , i'm open to new ideas.
