[Resolved] HELP NEEDED, Can access fastboot but nothing else HTC DESIRE - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
Phone is HTC Desire (Codename Bravo) PVT1 (one of the first), almost two years old!
Flashed a Kernel last night, and all was not great, but phone was still working...
Today having a lot of trouble with it... Restored a nandroid, restored my titanium from schedual, took a nandroid just in case...
all was fine for a while.. Came home to play with it a bit and it froze...
I can access fastboot, but nothing else.. Everything else is stuck on splash screen... adb shell tells me no device found, so it isnt booting at all, as far as i can tell!
S-Off, was running GingerVillain 3.3, Manu Kernel, was custom mtds, but just flashed cm7r2.. old cwm 2.5.0.7 - very confident with my desire... will try anything... its just stuck on splash screen at the moment!
Has it died? Any help appreciated...
a little more info found here in the thread I made in Desire Section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398932
Other thread had responses and help me solved my problem, thanks to all who helped!!

so you can't access recover? Sounds like you may be bricked.

Thanks for your response... Its the weirdest thing, cos I dont know why it would do it!
However, I got help in my other thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20443037#post20443037 - in the desire section, and ran an RUU, rerooted, re s-off'ed and now restoring my apps on a fresh install!
Again, thanks for your response!

glad you figured it out!

[Q] Desire HD problems with LeeDroid ROM

Hi all,
I'm new to this but I do have a fair knowledge of computers and moding so this is not all chinese to me. I recently got my new HTC Desire HD and decided to installa Lee's ROM.
Rooted my phone, did both Radio S-Off and S-Off, got ROM Manager installed clockwork recovery and flashed latest radio (26.04.02.17_M2). After applying the flash zip and rebooting phone stayed in HTC white screen for like 30 mins and still nothing happened. I did remove the battery and restarted holding down the volume button to go into recovery and restored the backup I previously made. Phone still stuck in HTC screen for over 20 mins now and nothing happens even after restoring original ROM. The only step I missed was to wipe data/factory reset. Should I do this now and then restore my backup or what? Help me pls on this, the phone is 1 week old I don't want to kill it already...
PS. Sorry for posting a new thread but as a new user it wouldn't let me reply to Lee's.
Thank you all in advance,
Cheers!
You should of at least made this thread under Desire HD section, plus you would get more response.
You got a boot loop. Nothing major and not a big deal since you can still get into recovery and such. How did you apply the new radio? You can't flash radios through the recovery.
If you haven't, then flash radio this way http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597 and see if you still get the boot loop.

Desire stuck on boot screen with Oxygen ROM - please help :S

Hi All
Yep, there are a lot of posts about Desire's stuck on boot screens I know - and I've read them all but nothing seems to fins a solution to my problem sadly.
I'm having an issue running Oxygen 2.0.3 signed release on my HTC Desire, spec as follows:
Radio 5.14.05.17
HBoot 0.93
PVT4
S-ON
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7
I did all the data, boot, and system wipes/formats recommended before installing new ROMs, and installed the zip from my SD card through ClockworkMod.
All is well on first boot - had it running happily for a couple of days. Then I turned the phone off and on again and it only boots as far as the white screen with the green HTC text, and progresses no further. When I go back to my Nandroid backup of the rooted stock ROM things appear to function as they should, if that makes any difference to a diagnosis.
I've tried reinstalling this ROM twice with the exact same result.
Can anyone help? I've had crashes with pretty much every ROM I've tried so far and, apart from this one considerable problem, Oxygen had been looking the most promising. I'm starting to wish I hadn't rooted at all - can't get a stable OS running at all since doing it, and getting really fed up
Thanks very much for any help.
Mark
I know this is an old treath, but I have exactly the same problem. Does someone knows what could be done to resolve this issue? I did the same thing as the topic starter.
Some info about my phone:
RAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
- Oxygen version 2.3.2
- HTC Desire GSM
- HBOOT version 0.93.0001
- RADIO version 5.11.05.27
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Won't boot past splash screen (error)

Hey guys,
I recently rooted and installed CM7 on my HTC Incredible S. After the mod worked fine, I did not have any phone service. I attempted to flash a new radio, but couldn't figure out how to do it (I think it wouldn't work because my phone is S-ON). Now when I tried to restore my phone from the nandroid back up in Clockworkmod, when the phone restarts, it gets stuck at the splash screen.
On my memory card, the only extra additions are the CM7 mod, the google apps update and a file called PG32IMG.zip. I am able to access the bootloader screen fine.
If anyone could provide any assistance, that would be awesome. I really need to use my phone! Thanks guys. I searched to find any fixes, but couldn't find any.
EDIT: Okay, I solved this problem by manually flashing the recovery image using fastboot. However, I still have no service. Has anyone had this problem before?

[Q] bootloop after installing ANY custom ROM

Hey there,
I have an interesting problem, and it has completely stumped me for the past couple days. I recently S-Off'd my Sensation, put cwm recovery on it, and set my CID to 11111111.
I haven't had any problems with that (except that I had to change computers to do it, Revolution didn't want to run right on my laptop or set the CID, so I had to use my desktop).
Now the problem comes when I try to flash a custom ROM. The first one I tried flashing was CM7. When it booted, I got a bootloop problem of the CM7 mod logo over and over. I decided maybe it was a problem with CM7 still being in alpha. Then I tried flashing HyperSensation 1.8, and got the same error (bootloop) on the loading screen. After trying various other ROMS, I realized that it was a common problem with all custom ROMS. Luckily I had backed up the stock setup, and was able to get into that. So it's not a problem with the hardware. I have only tried flashing gingerbread ROMS. I know that ICS ROMS need a new firmware, but I dont want to mess with that unless I can actually get a gingerbread ROM working first...
Any ideas? There was a thread or two about this (on other phones) but didn't have any solutions listed..
Thanks for any ideas people can give me!

Hi,
Did you root your phone?
Did you flash the superwipe zip first?
Also are you getting full reboots with HTC splash screen then animation or just the animation looping? Sometimes I have to let mine loop for 5 minutes after first boot of new rom before it settles.

I guess I hadn't done everything.. I didn't factory reset before flashing the new ROM... As soon as I did that it boot right in. That's a bit odd to me, as I didn't have to do that with my last phone.
Anywho, solved.

Elegancia ROM installation looping.

Hi all
This is my first post and I am also a noobie to phone modding, so please forgive me if I have written anything that doesn't quite make sense or I have missed something that should be obvious! I have spent time searching around the forums, but couldn't find anything (not that it isn't there though).
My problem is that I have just attempted to install the Elegancia Sense ROM on my Sensation 4G, but, after the initial HTC splash screen (HTC in green letters and a white background), the phone appears to load Elegancia fine.....for about 5 seconds, then freezes for 10 seconds before rebooting, and so it goes, round and round.....
The phone is rooted, S-Off'd, SuperCID is 11111111 (using abd). Also used formatter 3 on the SD card before continuing.
I have updated the RUU to 3.33 [PG58IMG.ZIP] (was rebooting a few times at first, then seemed to settle down (had Gingerbread on it at the time)) & left that on it for 24 hours. Hboot version=1.17.1111.
Backed up using Revolutionary.
Used Superwipe to clear the NAND e.t.c.
Flashed Sense 4 (v2.8).
The above is all off the top of my head, so I hope that I haven't missed anything!
Anyway, if anyone can help at all (perhaps point me to another thread or who has had the same happen to them), I would REALLY appreciate any help or suggestions as I am going on holiday this evening for a week and (stupidly as it has turned out) hoped to have Elegancia working for my hols
Thanks loads,
Steve.

What you have to do is factory reset, wipe cache, wipe everything you think you shouldvthen try flashing the ROM again.

Hi there
Thanks for the advice
I did all that, but now, even after 20 mins, when I powered the phone back on (after flashing the Sense ROM), it just stayed on the white splash screen with the green HTC written on it
Any more ideas?
Thanks loads...
Forgot to ask, did I need to wipe the SD card too (as I didn't do this)?
Thanks.
Help!
All,
I am still struggling with this!
Can anyone help please?
Many thanks.
At last!
All,
In the end, I sorted the problem out.
I had flashed the (supposedly?) universal 3.33 RUU. In the end I flashed a 3.32 TMOUS RUU which worked fine
I'm now up and running (with Nova Launcher too
