recently i've checked out new ICS-styled firmware, ICS CM7. (to be exact it only has new launcher, but OS is 2.3.7)
so when i connected my phone to pc i was kinda disappointed. there were no longer options like tethering or internet pass-through and i was only able to mount storage. the question is: does original Ice Cream Sandwich have this options at all?

I can't tell whether you're talking about Android 4.0 or 2.3.7? Anyway they are not working on ics yet but we'll have it soon

Do you have system partition of above 200MB. I had also same issue but solved with this!
Can you successfully flash a gingerbread ROM still? I have gone back and forth (gingerbread to ice and back) with no issues. The partition size does seem like the most likely culprit.

I don't have that problem but if you want to go back to gingerbread then just downgrade your firmware and use ARHD gingerbread ROM its smooth as hell way better than stock its very strange have you tried setting up a new account when you first boot the rom

I've tried a few different ice cream roms and they all seem to have a bug with the WiFi calling. Can anyone lead me to something somewhat stable? Currently on ARHD 3.6.13, had to downgrade from ARHD 6.5.2
This is an issue I've been working on for ICS however no one has been able to develop a solution as we must wait for the Wifi-calling app as well as the drivers for kineto_gan and the RIL be updated for ICS
So in short. Won't happen until T-Mobile releases their ROM with the proper ICS Wifi Calling

I figured this was the main problem I was loving all the roms that were available but I'm currently staying where tmo service sucks and need the WiFi calling.
hey guys.
i decided to wait a few weeks to update to the Android 4.0 Update (ruu). currently im using Gingerbread 2.3.5 (not root, no customrom) and i think its ok.
you people who have installed the Android 4.0 Ruu Update, if you got another chance to update from 2.3.5 to the Ruu 4.0 , would u do it or not?
after some weeks of testing and exp. 4.0 , u think its better than gingerbread?
thanks

ICS is better than GB but it will be a bit slower. Try Reaper custom rom

I updated to the 4.0.4 ruu and I wasn't too impressed by sense 3.6. I have been trying to find ways to get back to gingerbread but I can't find any.
why not go directly to jellybean?

There isn't a huge amount of difference between the two os's but I found the new UI actually worse than before and a little bit slower. However you do get a bunch of new features like face unlock and more. It's a difficult one but I think ICS just about wins as it is a little nicer and more fun to use.
Does having a custom Rom enable me to download more apps then the standard default.
For example my HTC desire s used to be 2.3.5 and I couldn't get 4od but when I upgraded to android 4 I can now get it

I'm not sure if having a custom ROM will enable you to get more apps directly, but it will most likely help with performance, and might make rooting your device a lot easier. Be sure to do a backup and make sure you have everything in order ahead of time, if you decide to try it.

Yes and no. Some aps have ceased support for versions higher than 4.0, like app2sd. Also since 4.0, there is no adobe flash support.
However, some other apps have dependencies on newer androids and therefore using a custom rom might enable them to you.
In essence, it depends.
Haha, you got the desire S. I was nearly going to buy that phone.
yes it did :good:
