CM7 Date?

When will we get CM7? Don't meant to rush, just want an estimated time.

There is no eta. There is a project underway being led by Krylon360 so I have no doubt it will be available eventually.
I don't mean to be a d*ck but it is considered bad form to ask for etas from independent development. They mostly do this stuff out of love for the work usually in their spare time. If they have an eta for a project they will post it with updates. If they don't, that means there isn't one. Fyi.

Cm is no safer than any other rom in development stages. And yes, it is bad form to ask how long for anything. You need to understand that we devs and modders do this from the kindness of our hearts and for experience. This is the kind of question that pisses a dev off.

Not many people made a thread dedicated to it. I want CM7 the most probably of anyone on this site but it takes time. Its being worked on you're better asking for the progress on it.

I get it. I wasn't complaining. Just noticed something for the first time. Guess I misunderstood about what to post and not post and the way to go about it in a thread.

Thanks for all your hard work..i'm fairly new here..and I've never had any problems with your roms. If some ppl spent a little time searching and asking in proper areas such as Q & A instead of cluttering up the dev sections things would be better. Almost 99% of the time the answer is already posted. Again, thanks for all your work, time, & effort you put into creating roms.

Lesson learned on my part. Raver has been invaluable to me personally. When I finally got the courage to root my phone maybe 6 months ago I hard bricked it with the first flash. If not for Raver I'm not sure what I would have ended up doing.

Honestly, Raver, you shouldn't even re-open your thread. Keep it locked and provide links to your ROMs elsewhere. This way, people will actually be forced to post in the correct sub-forum and maybe even (hold on to your seat, kids), just maybe, try searching for their issues themselves. O: O: O: O: O: I know, I know, it may be hard for some of you to fathom, but yes.. your question actually has been answered before (a million times), and yes, you can find it yourself.

I must say that we are so grateful that there is a man called Raver that working hard for our phone to make it fast and stable, yet there are people relies on asking without searching for answers first, if can't find answers from millions of replies then that's the time we have to ask, as we are so grateful that we have a place where we can customize our phone and make it look cool.. and once again we must consider this man's creation as we are just waiting what Mr.Raver going to provide us.. he deserves appreciation for what he have done...

What could we expect...

If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

Respected forums? Xda? Maybe like before Android, not anymore now.
A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. But(never start a sentence with this), when you guys run your cruisers down here and go Gestapo on the op's, that's even more useless than the duplicate thread. Now, instead of a duplicate thread with new and useful information, its a duplicate thread with new and useful information that's been cluttered by flamers and rent-a-thread cops. Does it make sense? That's the only reason I'm still with the g2x, I'm saying the repetitiveness of useless threads ("how do you update baseband, and how come I hear these noises when I call someone after installing this rom, I'm coming from 2.3.4 I received yesterday.") anything of that nature is what's wrong with this forum.

I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.

Personally, me and a couple devs sat down and thought about starting a build.
We've got a half working kernel, but posts like "eta" always make us feel like dropping the project. It's extremely annoying.

How? If anything that would make me happy that people are excited and curious for the build to come out. Thats what posts are for tbh. To read and ask questions. If it bothers you so much I would just ignore the threads and work. I'm not trying to be rude but I just don't see why people being curious would upset somebody so much they want to drop all their hardwork. Anyways glad for the hard work you all are doing. Keep it up. A lot of people are excited and curious, nothing to get annoyed about.

Evanizer, buddy, developers dont like "eta's" because if they answer to one, another pops up asking the same question, plus people use that as a definate and start complaining when its not delivered. When the time is right the developers will give us news, they are giving the most important asset to this community...their time.
All we can do , is give them support and now and again some support ...GOOD LUCK DEVELOPERS!!

I am one of the testers for EdgeHoods new ROM: ENVY. Im writing this to give you all a heads up on how GREAT this rom is! I honestly believe it is the best rom i have tried..and i've tried a few already and just honestly its the best. Its snappy, fast and just all around great! Im getting unbelievable battery life...about 14-20 hours(depending on if i use my phone alot) on 1 charge while on wifi. Its really truly great and when the rom comes out for everyone i highly recommend that all try it and see for yourself. If any of the testers wanna post something go for it because i know you guys love it too! BE ENVIOUS!

Actually yes you got through a whole process while you sign up, hopefully you read that and the video of how not be a noob. We don't wanna say you are but like it causes problems on developers and the forums if we have constant clutter with all these types of threads that can be considered useless if there have already been solves threads of the same exact problem and such. I don't wanna sound mean but I don't really enforce this, this is just the way this site it. To be honest, I actually think we won't have much people on here if it weren't for one click roots and such meaning less noobs who end up having problem for their lack of rudimentary knowledge towards the android world.

Let him get his post count up and if you don't like this thread or if you insist on complaining about this thread, just let it die out and don't post your complaints here.

I was never being an ass just stating something that xda expects of new users and problems that could possibly occur if things aren't read. You just need to get your things straight.

No, I am saying you all guys used be NOOB when we came to XDA forum to learn something new. Right? So Let's give OP a break and it's cool if someone want say it about the beta ROM. Nothing harm to anyone.
Please don't take this offense and I am not perfect grammar since my english is my secondary language.

Leave him alone guys lol, there really isn't any reason that this CAN'T be posted in General. If you think that it should be posted in the ROMs thread, that's fine, but there's no reason to team up on the poor guy about it.
I'm just glad someone's enjoying the ROM.
