Hey guys, I bought a used HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) but it came with a European stock ROM (I've been told).
The thing is, I've got all sort of weird issues with the phone, so I'm wondering maybe the ROM has anything to do with it.
How can I find out if I really have a stock or some other kind of ROM?
My software info menu says:

Hi,
There is nothing "suspicious".
You have a Sense 3.5 ROM installed, with what looks like a stock kernel, and the latest radio.
If there is a problem with that ROM,install another one.
Super wipe first.
Is there any way I can verify that this is the latest official ROM from HTC? I don't want to try lots of ROMs until I find a good one, I just want to have the latest official ROM (that is supposed to work fine, right?). Thanks.

The latest HTC build for the US Sensation is 1.50 and it's provided by TMobile and not HTC...Sense 3.5 is a leaked build, which is why you were probably suspicious, the current HTC updates for EU & US are still 2.3.4(Gingerbread). No ICS for you till late Q1 or early Q2 in 2012. Look in the development section of XDA and the TMO build should be there somewhere(1.50).

Hi,
If it's a 3.5 ROM then it based on a leaked version, and therefore not official.
If you want official then go for a Sense 3.0 ROM.
So that's why my phone is acting up! That makes sense. Thanks!

Not exactly, a lot of devs here are using that leaked ROM and have fixed many bugs and performance hiccups. Although they still can't change it from a leak so it's still slower than a Sense 3.0 build currently, but you shouldn't rule out the ROM as the issue just yet. You should desc your issues so that others can at least explain their origin, many users here are fine with Sense3.5.
Well, somehow I'm almost sure that an official ROM would not go published as long as there are bugs like:
- Gmail fonts (email message and UI fonts also) larger when phone in landscape mode
- All predictions, suggestions and corrections turned off from the Touch Input settings, but when composing SMS, words are underlined and, when touched, suggestions appear.
- Generally slow UI performance (slower than my previous phone, HTC Desire) including keyboard responsiveness
- One sudden reset and one reboot needed one time when the phone wouldn't connect to Mobile Internet (probably stuck in a loop, 25% of battery gone in 15 mins)
- Battery indicator once was stuck at 70% or so while the phone was charging for hours and after a reboot indicated 100%
I don't know, I have a feeling all these issues will be gone after installing an official ROM...
EDIT: I think I've found my ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281040
EDIT: Thanks guys, I've managed to successfully install the latest European Sensation RUU. Everything runs much more smoothly now, lightning fast actually, compared to before..

When was this found out/announced?
Is it any different from the stock 2.2.1 SBF (UK version) found on and-developers?
If anyone gets their hands on this build please post a screenshot of the About screen.

Oh ok, my bad.
This is the same version which is on and-developers.. it was announced few months back as far as I know.
It also uses the older kernel. Newest official kernel is the Arabic/African one. You can check this out in the kernel collection thread.
Motorola started rolling out the Froyo update in stages. This might've showed up only now.
Rom in general
used this for 24 hours now battery life better than most other roms and it must be said uk version must have been polished in some way over german release or aisia.no fc's so must be great for stock foyo rom
That said missing miui so going back to that
I've also uploaded a couple of days ago this rom up on my moto.Clean install from 2.1 and works very well.
Battery life on that ROM is unacceptable.
Did update from stock UK eclair and i have to say 2.1 was far battery friendly..

Funny I got this version months ago from the Motorola UK site sitting here in Bangladesh and I updated via the update tool provided by Motorola.
The only difference I see here is that my build number is SHOLS_U2_05.26.0.

Hi, for Romania is good this release ? or not
I got my Sensation with Bell here in Canada a few days ago and have a question- what's the latest released version of Android's software? When I first got the phone it said an upgrade was available and I did an upgrade. I then did a system restore, and it no longer says there's an upgrade. My current version is as follows:
Android Version:
2.3.3
HTC Sense Version:
3.0
Software Number:
1.35.666.1
Kernal Version:
2.6.35.10-g9cef70d

Baseband Version:

Build Number:
1.35.666.1 CL84734 release-keys
Browser Version:
Webkit/533.1
Is this the latest software available for the Sensation or is there an update? If so, how do I get it? when I click 'software updates' >> Check now, it says Your phone is up to date.
Thanks.

U have the latest version now. When you do a restore it just wipes the phone.
Would you like to flash a rom?Your device will become more better.
Thanks for the reply!
@Cecc- I have no idea how to flash my phone. If I flash it, will HTC Sense be removed? I only ask because I like the lock screen, widget, and graphics Sense brings to the phone such as the in-call display.

then: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281040
is the best stock ROM debranded so far..
The issue I'm having is that as soon as a call comes in the data connectivity drops. I noticed it on the Maximus ROM and thought it was a ROM issue and thus switched to the September version of the Viper ROM. Alas, I'm still having the issue. Is anyone familiar with this?
I was just wondering if it's a ROM issue, location issue or something entirely different. I read that the original TMobile ROM allowed for surfing during a call but I had the phone less than a day before I got rid of that ROM. Therefore, I don't recall whether or not I was able to surf the web during a call.

Baseband is your radio
If you have HBoot lower than 1.09 then u can update your radio to latest US T-mobile at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907016 then replace build.prop. All these are in the link.
My wifi stopped working so I had to go back to stock. Once I did, during the update process, I received a notification for ICS. I let it install and no problems at all. CMW is no longer there and I haven’t tried installing it. But it is good to have the official ICS upgrade for now. I have only had it installed for a few minutes while I check out all that is new. Anyone else receive the update? I have been out of the country for a while and I didn't see a posting for the official ROM anywhere.

While my Tab was rooted I never received a notification. It is only because my wifi stopped working did I go back to the stock firmware. I was also out of the country the past year and my internet was painfully slow. Now that I have returned to the US, I could fix my Tab. Once I loaded the stock firmware, I simply let my Tab update. It was on the second or third update that I received the pop-up for ICS.
I flash my GT-P6210 (WI-FI only) with a stock 4.0.4 firmware via Odin and all runs fine. only lost root, anyone know if the the method used for root the device on v3.2 work for this version?

Thanks. I had flashed the GB version and my tab wouldn't update, wouldn't connect to Keis, and such. Not a real big deal but it kept me out of OTA updates and such for the US. Now I've got the US version and all that works.
BTW, I use to be stationed at Bragg. Love the area. (Unless you're from Fayetteville, Arkansas?)
