hey guys. when youre on your desktop, using probably google chrome to browse the web. if youre like me, you love to save pictures when you find them. you search picture sites and find lots of treasures you want to keep. however it takes a while to right click>save as> wait 3 seconds for the "save as" box to pop up, just to click "save" > then wait another few seconds for it to close and your browser to resume. i use a netbook, sometimes the whole process of saving a picture can take 10 seconds each pic.. when really all i need to do is rightclick>save (not save as). if only there was such an option.. i almost never change the location or name of a picture i save.. so why go thru this growling process every time..
is there an extension that will give me the option to just "save"? currently ive been using chrome to phone. its amazing. rightclick>chrome to phone. and not even a second later my phone has the picture.. but i dont want to save all of these pics on my phone, i want to save them to my computer..
if anyone knows of such an extension.. or any service that could help, please please please let me know. thanks!

Haven't been able to find any info regarding this. Is there a way to save pictures off the internet to your gallery? The standard web browser doesn't seem to have much in the way of those type of options, if it can't be done with the standard does someone know another browser that does? I'd like to be able to save photos I find on the web for backgrounds without having to continuing connect the Tab to my PC and transfer photos over.
Thanks
It can be done in Opera 11. Just long press the picture and a box pops up allowing the download (but only to internal SD that I could tell.)
Netfront life browser let you cut and save anything in the browser. I haven't tried it but remember reading it.
Dolphin has the long press option too. I use it for my anatomy physiology research. I make digital flash cards from Google image searches. I like dolphin because it lets me select my download location. I can make a new directory then select it in dolphin as my download location while I'm hunting body parts then switch it back to standard download folder when I'm done. Makes it easy to keep organized with this functionality.
I use the Dolphin HD browser too and find it works well for saving pictures and all around works better than the stock browser.
On another note, I do hope that Mantara gets those Honeycreams!
Thanks for the reply's! Dolphin sounds good, I'll check that out.
Hello everyone. I'm coming from the Infinity forums here at XDA. I jumped ship on that thing. Loving this Sammy Tab. Does anyone know how to stop or remove the tab from grabbing photos from my computer? As soon as I hit the gallery Icon it grabbed my pics. Am on Windows 7 ultimate. So I went to my media player and disabled share with other devices but alas it still finds the pictures. Then when I go to the folder to delete it/them all I get is a select file/folder option or download option. No delete option. So how do I stop and remove this folder? Thanks. Sorry if there is a thread for this already. I searched but couldn't find anything. Maybe I didn't write it out right in the search:silly:
Anyway, Thanks in advance

The Note is finding pictures that you windows pc is sharing to your network. It allows you to view them but isn't downloading them unless you hit the download button.
You can remove the network items from the view this way: Menu (from main gallery view not from withing the "folder" of pictures you want to remove) -> View By -> Content in device

There's only one problem with this method -- it doesn't stop it permanently. Every time you re-load the gallery app, it re-appears. I find it totally annoying, honestly, and wish there was a permanent way to turn it off. I leave media sharing on my Win7 PC turned on because I use apps that allow me to browse shared media for streaming/etc. I want to be able to see those photos when I want them, but not all the time, and certainly not every time I load up the gallery app.
If the app permitted you to browse network-shared media when YOU want, and could sort it in a useful way (folders, maybe?) ... then the feature would be useful. Otherwise, for me, the hundreds and hundreds of raw digital photos being cataloged each time I load the app is just plain obnoxious.
Thankfully, thus far, this is only one of a very very few annoyances with the Note 10.1! And there's always one solution -- use a different picture/media viewing app .
Nice. Thanks guys. quickpic here I come
Anyone know of a simple way to stop the gallery from Showing all folders? I've got stuff on my SD card that I don't feel is appropriate for my young children to see (primarily "R" rated movies) & my 4 y/o daughter loves to "look @ pictures, daddy" when we're in the car.
Any way to keep the folder containing these files from being shown in the gallery? Can/should I uninstall the gallery app & use a substitute?
I heard a while back that you can I insert a text file like ".nomedia" but have no idea how to do that.
Any suggestions / ideas (that don't include "remove that crap" or "control your kids!" LÖL) are appreciated. If the suggestion is a .nomedia file or some such, detailed instructions would also be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

An easy way to add the .nomedia file is to download the free version of Super Manager from the Play Store. (or paid if you decide you like it) Once you have it open it and go to the file manager. Open up the folder you want hidden so that you can see its contents. At the bottom of the app there is a bar with different buttons. One of them looks like the Windows Media Player icon with a check mark and an X on it and says media below it. Tapping that icon will add/remove a .nomedia file in the open folder.
May not be the most simplistic way but I always had trouble finding something that would let me create just a standard file type I could turn in to the .nomedia file. All most file manager apps let you create is a folder which wont work.
Thanks for the advice! Embarrassing as this is, I "cheated" & looked for an answer on Google @ the same time I posted the question.
Turns out the easiest way for me was to change the name of the folder from "Interesting" to ".Interesting"
Folder disappeared and is no longer assessable through the gallery.
Sorry for the wasted time but I appreciate the answer. Next time, I'll be a little less lazy & a little more aware of the power of the Goog....

Thanks!

I use an app called Vaulty (free version) or Stocks (paid version of Vaulty). It works well for hiding media from prying eyes. Entering anything other than the correct password on the program's opening page just performs a stock market lookup, so as far as anyone else is concerned, it's just another stock market app.
Hi all
I realise this is probably the wrong section for this question but I have looked all over and can't seem to find an answer and was hoping someone on here could possibly help me.
Basically when I take a look photo on my Nexus 5 it gets auto backed up... That's great however when I go into the photo app I can see the photo I just took but I can not for the life of me move it into an album.
I can only move photos in the app that are in the highlighted section but if the photo is in the 'all photos' the section I can't move it.
Again apologies as I know it's not strictly nexus 5 related I'm just stuck!
Thanks for any help
Chris
use a file explorer app. find the photo in whatever folder its in, then move it to another folder, or make a new one. the photos app doesnt do this, its not a file explorer. it only shows you where the photo is located.
Hi
I have been looking for an app that can create a slideshow by selecting photos from a particular folder on my SD Card/device.
I've tried a few apps but firstly they only seem to show the last 30 pictures and not the entire content of the folder?
Second I cannot bulk select the photos and need to add them one at a time - but the apps still only show the last 30 pics and some apps make it so I select one at a time and then it makes me go back through the menus to find the folder (make sense?).
Is Android really restrictive in letting me do what I think is a fairly simple task, or is the a better app I haven't yet found?
Or am I better off doing it on a PC?
thanks
