I've been trying to write this post all week without it sounding "whiney" but I've given up now. It's not meant to be a whine so if it comes across that way please accept my apologies
I'm new to the wonders of flashing custom ROMs and I have a whole shed load of questions but the main ones are:
1. In general, how do I report force closures etc? For example, if an app crashes I get a prompt saying do I want to report it to MIUI, but what am I supposed to be sending them?
2. I switched from Brainmasters version of MIUI because I kept losing radio signal (only came back after rebooting) and am now using KelLMSKing MIUI but am wondering if I have a small bug with that now too (when I get certain notifications the backlight for the buttons comes on but never goes off till i switch the phone on to see the message). As I'm new here and am unable to post to the developer forum, how do I report these issues and/or seek the dev advice? I'd be interested in knowing if the backlight coming on is meant to happen and if so, can I disable it or time limit? Does it consume much power if it is staying on?
Thanks in advance for reading, Nathan

First off, there are other threads on this topic but none of them seem to have an answer, and if you find an answer please post a link instead of telling me to search more.
Sometimes the phone randomly becomes unresponsive, its not with any certain app or anything, it just randomly happens. Usually pressing the sleep button and turning it off and on fixes it. It started in Android Revolution a while ago, stopped, and then came back a month later, I wiped everything and installed MIUI hoping this would solve my problem, well it didn't.
current setup
CWM 3.0.2.6
MIUI 1.7.8v1
FULL WIPE
CATTLEPROD KERNEL NOT OVERCLOCKED

Like you stated there are other threads on this. Please use them instead of opening a new one. There are many things that can lead to lag. I would look for others on the same rom as you and compare.

I'm not yet cool enough to post in the actual ROM thread, so here I am...
I really liked the VI ROM, but always had troubles with random lockups, reboots, and 'Process messaging has stopped working' (or something similar to that which occured at nearly every single SMS send attempt). I also didnt like the Quick Boot thing in VI. Sure, I could have fixed these issues, but I don't possess such skillz as yet.
So, I notice today a new ROM (AndroidRevolta [perhaps a more appealign name might be in order? ]) has been released and based on the VI ROM, and would like to know from either the dev / chef, or users, if;
a) using the power button only, can I get an option to boot to recovery, or do I still have to click 'Quick Boot' (which IMHO is anything but), and
b) was anything done to resolve the issue with 'messaging has stopped' ?
XDA policy states that I am not to ask for 'thanks' clicks so that I may one day be deemed cool enough to post in the dev thread, so I won't.
Funny. VI got me addicted to quick boot. Use it on every Rom I flash. Save the power button a bit.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. First I would like to thank all the developers on here and specially the developer of Sky Jellybean.
I have encounter a few bug with the latest integration that i would like to post on here since i can't post on the developer forum just yet.
the first problem I see is that whenever i receive a text message notification (i'm using gosms) and the pop up come in, the home screen crashes. I have to disable notification. I'm a fan of touch wiz
second, I don't know what i did wrong but i don't have a stellar battery life, but that less of a problem.
third, well, two days after using the ROM, it corrupts my sdcard, windows can't read it, the phone can't either. It couldn't mount anywhere. I had to repair the boot sector and update it to make it work again.
Apart from that, this is a great ROM!
Hi all,
First off, I tried posting this in the Q&A section but it said I did not have permission to do so (even though the rules prohibit you from posting in the developer threads and direct you to the Q&A forum )
I just upgraded my Samsung Infuse to the latest Jelly Bean 4.2 CyanogenMod10 ROM. Everything went smoothly, however, I am noticing a few issues, some of which are quite important:
1- The time is 5 hours ahead. I used network-provided time and the minute is correct, but it is +5 hours. So instead of 2:19PM right now, it's 7:19. If I set it to manual time, it seems to stay correct, but I would prefer to let the network handle it, and as soon as I turn it back on, it changes immediately. So...is it thinking my time zone is incorrect or something?
2- My device isn't syncing with the Google Play website. I access the app on my phone and even started downloading some apps, but when I go to the Play website it says I haven't accessed it from my device yet, and it also says "you have no devices".
3- I swear I am not going crazy, but the first time after upgrading I pulled down the status bar from the top and in the right hand corner there was a button which opened a screen full of widgets to toggle such as bluetooth, sleep, etc, yet now when I do that all I see is the date in the top left corner... where did that other button go?
4- Also not going crazy, but when I upgraded and saw the home screen, all I had was a screen for icons which is great. However, after a few minutes, a bar at the top appeared for Google search/voice. It appears on all of my home screens now, and it appears fixed. I cannot seem to remove it or adjust it at all. Where did this come from and can I remove it? I definitely do not want it there.
So far I am liking this modded ROM of JellyBean and I think everyone who helped make it possible, but if some of these things are in fact glitches, I may have to revert back to ICS (only upgraded to fix the Bluetooth anyway).
I am not sure if any of all of these issues are already known or not, but just looking for some general help.
Many thanks to anyone who can help!
Hi there
First some specs:
Nexus 4
PA3.99-RC2
Franco.kernel.plus 188.
SuperSU root
Latest gapps
I have tried asking in the the Paranoid Android Google+ discussion forum, but no useful answers yet. This is x-posted in N4 forum as well, but I thought asking here in general could give give answers from people with other devices too.
The problem:
When I use my phone I get random glitchy/clicky sounds from the top speaker (I'm pretty sure it's from there). It's a very quick glitch/click, and then it stops. It doesn't happen in a specific pattern, meaning that it's not like it comes whenever I press the back button or anything - it just happens sometimes. Sometimes more often than other. When I try to recreate the sounds (tapping a lot of menus, settings, apps, etc.) I find it difficult to recreate. It is REALLY random, perhaps mostly after I haven't used my phone for a while, and I turn it on!
Have anyone tried this, and knows a solution? It didn't annoy me at first, but now it really does.
As far as I remember it started when I upgraded to PA3.99. However, I have tried RC-1 and RC-2 and I have also tried stock kernel, Hellscore kernel and different Franco-kernel versions.
