is it possible to pull the camera from the latest miui rom we have and put it into other roms?
as in: I want the miui camera and install it on MitRa Rom
...is this possible?
I don't know. I haven't used these roms but I would think that if your current rom is deodexed that you would be able to try it. Just pull the camera.apk that you want from that rom and push it in using root explorer into /system/apps. Just back up your current camera apk in case it doesn't work. I've used the gs2 camera apk this way.

You would be able to use both camera.apks I think. Back when I had a MTS3g, I installed the miui camera because it was better than the one I had before, save some differences, both cameras worked.
It only works with minuit framework...would take heavy modification to run on infuse roms

I was thinking the same thing.
OP You should start with aosp source and fix that if you want as pure as google android as you can get.
By the way you your picture you have up there is not stock launcher it's adw launcher. And the rotary lock screen is not stock either. Sorry.

I have the stock launcher installed in this version that screenshot is old. The Google lockscreen is included but not set as default ( trying to learn how to do this). I have remove Most of the CM stuff except for somethings i need to learn ( edit settings.apk to remove The CM settings ( which will not open when clicked on). All the apps on this rom come from a aosp rom for the DroidX( except for Terminal, Rom Manager, and File Explorer (which is very useful). All traces that i can remove so far have been removed.
haha dicks, just rippin him apart and the rom hasnt even been out for a day LOL
I applaud the effort. Congrats on your first rom and look forward to see the improvement. As far as removing apps, one thing I do is find it in Titanium then see what the file is named, then you can remove it out of the app folder.
Like stated above, you should work with a pure aosp base and you won't have to worry about any of that CM7 stuff. In my opinion, I think aosp is about as smooth as it gets when it comes to UI. I'm sure people would love to have a pure aosp ROM around here since there aren't any yet that I'm aware of.
Good luck with everything and if you need any help just ask.
I'll give a shot. I love loading new roms. Thanks and good luck.
The problem is that I remove CMparts.apk and cyanogenMod settings is still in my settings menu (like a ghost menu ( it won't open). I need someway to edit setting.apk to remove this from the settings menu but im not skilled enough to do this any help would be apreciated.
Also The RenderFX widget is unable to be found (If someone has a location or what file it is in please tell me)
tell me how it is please!!!!!
OP There is a lot more to removing cm then you are thinking. Cm is not just the addition off apps but also modification of all what is android. If you want aosp start with aosp

Ok I tried it and honestly it looks just like cm7. I don't know about creating roms but it seems that this is cm7 renamed and the boot screen changed. I would seek advice on properly creating roms and start over. Good luck.

If I were to create this from a aosp rom I first need to get my hand on one. I need to get drivers (I have no Idea on how to do drivers). And what kernel would I use. also what drivers would i need and don't need (screen, mix, speaker, touchscreen, bluetooth, wifi?)
Also would you want to make this rom with me?

You might want to check with @DOAlaboratories. He was working on an AOSP ROM, but hasn't updated his thread in a while.

Building from source ie. google. You can google ginger bread aosp and it will bring up this or from Git. You are going to have to build a kernel from source as well. You take the drivers that inspire already has. Its alot of trial and error to see what works and what doesn't.
Is there anywhere that has all the information necessary to build a rom compiled into one handy area?

Google is your friend if you want to learn how to compile asop. You can check out the android source site http://source.android.com/ or the developer sitehttp://developer.android.com/

I have found a outdated 2.3.1 Asop rom for Desire HD (camera not working and USB mass storage not working ). Also If any one has any idea of how to copy CM7's drivers for USB and CAMERA I would love to hear from you!!!
Also How can I update this rom to 2.3.3 without having to recompile from ANDROID-SDK
I'm gonna take a crack at building from AOSP tonight. Gonna use the kernel and proprietary files from CM7. If it doesn't boot though, I don't have the patience to start looking into the kernel and framework to fix it. Wish me luck!
hi guys im new to the galaxy s 4g, i just got it today and im looking for a complete stock version of android. froyo or gingerbread. i would rather have gingerbread but i cant find one lol. also how come i dont see a cm7 one? well if u guys can send me a link i would appreciate that. i looked in the development section and i didnt see a stock android one. also are they buggy or have any issues? i like this phone to be fast cause stock is laggy plus i dont like touchwiz. thanks
There is no cm7 rom as of yet. If your looking for a completely stock rom your phone came with one but if you want a super smooth fast rom look for the icbinb rom by team acid.

well i just want the stock build of gingerbread like the nexus s has. i dont want touchwiz at all.. its too laggy for me. i was hoping there was a stock build of gingerbread thats why i got this phone. but i guess i can wait for cm7 to get a rom going. thanks though
I am trying to do the same thing on my phone. My sister-in-law works for google and got one of the Nexus S phones that google gave away as a christmas present to all the employees and I wanted to get a copy of their ROM on my phone. Unfortunately, she has Verizon and gave her phone away to another co-worker who needed another one before I was able to snag it up from her I don't want to use some program that just flashes the new OS on top of the old one... That lags the phone and doesn't really do the trick (Like running windows modulator in Mac OsX.) I want to wipe the phone and load Android 3.2 onto my phone... anyone help please?!
If you don't like Touchwiz, you can install another launcher from the market, like Go Launcher or Launcher Pro. Touchwiz is mostly just a launcher, it doesn't really slow down the phone.
If your phone is laggy, I'd try rooting it, and then uninstalling some of the bloat that comes on the stock rom.
just flash icbinb for froyo. delete tw after you get another launcher. i would say for a lightweight one, try zeam launcher
I'm running MIUI 1.11.11( The newest one) and I rather dislike the Camera app, and wanted to try and get the stock camera app back. So I downloaded the Infused 2.2.3 rom and pulled the APK out of it to try and install it into my phone, and it keeps giving me an error on the install. Is there a way to go abour installing this? Or can it even be done?
The stock infuse camera is not compatible with miui framework unless heavy modifications are done...hope that helped...but all in all...cm7 and miui 's camera is much better than stock infuse with way more options...

But neither have the panorama shot which I really enjoyed taking photos :/ But yes, that helped me a lot thanks.
Hi all,
I have been using CM9 on my sensation for a while now and I like it very much
But I don't really like the camera interface... So here is the MIUI Camera V17 for the sensation which can be used on android 4.0 and you can just install it as an normal application.
I thought you might want to have it as well.
This is not my application and not my work! All the credits go to the MIUI team
Maybe someone can check if there is a newer version available from the current miui roms?
Bugs:
No camcorder function working.
'Can't find camera' error after used the standard one.
Is anybody interested?
I always thought that a lot of people didn't liked the standard cm9 camera...
It's not working on ARHD 6.6.4 after normal install.
Not worked ordroid too

Might have to push it to /system/app and set permissions. I'll give it a go cause the stock ICS camera sucks.
Edit: It works but crashes when trying to switch to video mode.
I think the app might have some problems with sense roms.. maybe because it's a totally different framework..
It should work normally on vanilla ics roms.. like mine
Pushing it and fixing permission might help

Yes that's correct...
Do you know where we can find the miui camera which is beeing used in android 4.0 miui roms?
Well, in an MIUI 4 rom of course. However, no idea. Not much an interest to find it either - I don't care for MIUI.

Don't think you have to install it as an apk! You have to push it through the system

I don't really care about the MIUI roms either.. but I do care about their camera..
Do you know how you can extract a certain apk from a rom?
I have tried to extract the camera application from the new MIUI Pyramid roms... but unfortunately they have been using the framework from sense and therefore is the camera not working on vanilla android
I have wiped reinstalled rom, touch to focus, nothing works. as soon as I use flash my phone goes black resulting in a battery pull. running blackbean 6, would really like tofind a fix since I love this Rom. also is there any way to pull the camera from synergies r73 to use with this rom? I love the volume as shutter option and haven't found any mods that work on this rom for the same feature.
thanks!

so is there any fix for flash rendering a phone reboot? I tried several other jb roms that were 4.1 and 4.2 based and same problem. if I use a camera app it works fine, but lacks the quality in picture.
If this isn't fixed by flashing a new ROM then believe it or not you need a new battery. This was a common problem on the DROID charge.

If I stay stock rom it works fine, or if i use any rom later than 4.1. I never had any issues on synergy until the jb leak, then just assumed it was a glitch somewhere, but i have found after testing it does it on any rom that runs 4.1 or higher unless im running stock. I think i might have found a fix tho, i pulled the camera from stock rom and placed it in my sys/app fixed permissions and works fine. I tried this with the 4.2 camera but it crashed my phone to. So i guess im stuck with stock for now?
