What's better than the S-planner? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Do you guys use the stock S-planner? Or is there a better Calendar app for the Galaxy Note? Or is the S planner enough for you guys?

I like the S-Palnner, but I'm using 240 DPI. Does not look nice.
Zhe best calendar app, for my oppinion, is "Business Calendar". The colors are not my favourite ones, but the functionality is very nice.

CalenGoo is great. I've tried them all and this is my favourite for work use.

With the S-Planner, I can create and move appointments with the stylus quickly and easily.

I use Jotre because I like the widget, but then again I don't have a very demanding schedule...

I tried Business planner, S Planner, Jotre and a few others.
CalenGoo to me was the best. Very clean interface, no bizarre color schemes. The recurring schedule options are the best IMO, and that is the core of Calendar options. Unfortunately it costs a few bucks. But Calendar apps and Contact apps are to me, the most important part of the core of the smartphone. Everybody has their own priorities, but Calendar was at the very top for me, and I chose CalenGoo.

Out of curiosity, now that the note has been in the hands of quite a few for a while, who sticks with the S-planner?
And why? What advantage does the S-planner have over other calendar apps? (aside from it being free)
To those who switched, why did you guys switch?
What did the other calendar apps do that the S-planner didn't do, or did not do as well?

Im using pocketinformant
Apart from it being the best i can set my working week to start on saturday and it integrates with google tasks and toodledo

calengoo. For customizations and flexibility. I have made it look good too, attached screenshot...
The developer is responsive too

To those who have used S-Planner, Calengoo, and Business Calendar, which of the three do you guys prefer? And are they worth the price?

I purchased those two on my other device but used s-memo on note because of the looks of it. However, am using calengoo now. Business calendar is as good only not as customizable.
If i have to choose one: calengoo
Buy one. Worth the price.

+1.
I love Pocket Informant because it syncs with Toodledo. It is a pain to categorize, arrange and edit Task in Google Calendar website.
I actually like the interface for S-Planner, but not using it unless it support Toodledo or heck even Google Task!

If Calengoo have Toodledo Task syncing, I'll jump all over it!

I replaced it with "calendar droid".
i mostly use the week view.
i mainly bought the note to see the whole week on the screen... but scroling up and down just wasnt an option for me.
the whole day events take to much screen resolution, showing only 8 hours of a day on such a big screen is a design fail. the title of the event can barely show 5 letters...
the month view where you need to scrool this 1,5 line of the details in the bottom is painfull...
it does not have any settings for default reminders, nor does it take from the calendar (the ones set in the desktop version of gcalendar).
the time chooser is awfull.
as mentioned above i now use calendar droid. as a previous htc sense user, the splanner is a full pain in the...

Basic calendar program?

Well basically I'm just looking for a extremely simple calendar program for my 8125 that acts just like a regular paper calendar would.
I'm looking for it to be a month view, then you click on a date in that month and enter in what you are doing/need to do that day just like you would writing on a regular calendar.
I'm not looking for any alarms, reminders, or anything like that.
So if anyone knows of anything, please let me know.
Isn't the calendar built into Windows Mobile good enough?
If it was, I wouldnt be asking now would I?
I'm looking for something way more basic than the one thats built into WM5.
I'm not a power user so I don't have a ton of things I want to put into the calendar.
This is all I want from a calendar:
Tap the date I want to put the note on.
Type in what it is I'm doing that day and what time it begins and ends manually. ie: Lunch with Lindsay @ 1:00, Dentist appointment @ 4:00
And save.
Is there anything like that, or can I get the one with WM5 to work like that?
you might want to check out spb diary - it's not as complex as some other alternatives,, and can do a lot of what you ask from the today screen...

I rather agree with PaulK_CMF, isn't the one in WM5 easy enough? What is so complex about the WM5 version? You click on the Calendar, you get different views, just go to the month view and you can see those days that you have/not events. Click on the specific date, you get the day view. Scroll up and down for the time you wanted to add the event, click and hold, New Appointment, give it a name, time. That's ALL! There is nothing POWER to it. If you think that is powerful, you should see the Informant Calendar. That is cool.
Or perhaps, you can tell us, of which part do you think it is complex?
Alright, well the WM5 calendar might not be powerful...but it's more than what I want.
Like I said I just want something very basic that I click on the date add what I want and save.
I don't want to put times, I don't want to make titles I don't want anything extra. I just want it to be just like a regular wall calendar. Only on my PDA...
What you're after might not exist. :?
Developers want to improve on what WM offers, not provide something that does less.

And bump this to the top for hope that something like this exists...
still looking for this program, if anyone knows of anything please post!
im in the same boat, everything ive tried has been too complicated for what it is, and i want something very similar to windows rainlender calendar app.
looks good, not a plugin, easy noting on a date, month view.
yep, that's exactly what i want...
it really can't be that hard to code a program like that if you're a programmer.
someone out there should make us one, haha...
Sounds like you want Google calendar, of course it's useless if you don't have a data plan but Google calendar works exactly like what you are saying.
Oh, http://www.google.com/calendar/m
The mobile version is not the same as the standard, thought I would throw that out there.
Yea, I've already tried google calendar and it's not bad on the PC, but I don't like the mobile version. Plus I'd like something that doesn't require being connected to the net since I would have to wait for it to connect, wait for the page to load and so on...
Thanks for recommending though...
Possible Alternative
I've been on the lookout for something very simple as well, though not quite this simple (Datebook+ on the Handspring Visor is my all time fave).
Here's an idea: there are many note taking apps that will display a thumbnail view of several notes at once. It might take some setup time, but you could use the text entry option, give each note a day or week in the larger collection (month) and then directly edit.
One example:
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=1251
Not the best option... but a thought. I'll keep my eye out for this one.
I always thought that IntumiCal was nice but overpriced (I'm a cheapskate). Now the company that was making IntumiCal is kerplop. Would it be possible/legal for someone to take the torch on as a opensource app (assuming they could get the source code)?

Best Android Task/ToDoManager?

There are huge number out there but any suggestions as to the best? I am looking for one that will sync with PC. Thanks
Id like to know too.
Iphone have A-Note, wich seams pretty nice. The android copy easy note +2do
isnt half as good.
Im useing Tag ToDo, but the UI isnt looking as good as a I want it to.
hi
I have just made the move to Android too and have been furiously installing all task managers to try and replace Awesome Note from my iPhone.
what I have found is EasyNote which is a direct rip-off but not as polished. Astrid seems very good and has remember the milk sync so I think you could sync to your pc in a round about fashion. this what I am using for now.
MyTasks and ListMaster are both ones that I am going to try and use as well and worth a look.
finally I have got Jorte and this handles tasks in a very integrated to calendar sort of way that I can't decide if I like or not but would recommend having a look at.
I am also keen to hear other opinions as I have only had the HTC desire for a week and only trying to find 'progs' (engadget listeners will know) for the last couple of days
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Check out Astrid. It has a home screen widget and syncs OTA with Remember the Milk.
I've spent like 100 mandays researching this topic and my current setup is: Toodledo + Got To Do + Pure Calendar widget. I'm using it everyday syncing with exchange server and I can highly recommend this setup.
Shuffle is pretty good for GTD aficionados. It syncs (to a certain extent) with Tracks.

For me the best is gtasks
It also sync's with Google tasks!
Yes, only spent few minutes with it but Shuffle looks quite encouraging. Given the larger screens the problem us the PC equivalent with which I would like to sync. RTM just does not do it for me. Too much wasted space (even if I do not use it).
Toodledo best I have found on that side
Anything that can sync with Outlook as well?
HTC Sync (included on the SD card and available for download on HTC's website) can sync with Outlook.
I have one in development that will be available for beta testing before the end of the month. Desktop syncing is planned (with either a dedicated client or Outlook, depending on which is more popular) but will not be available immediately.

im gonna try your combo =)
Atm im running: "New Tab to Tasks A simple extension that makes your New Tab Page be your Google Tasks in chrome" +gtasks app on the Nexus + Pure Calendar Widget as the widget.
pretty pleased, only problem i see is that the tasks that are due for the day gets red in Pure Cal Widget, and i wanna configure that colour but i cant.
i also miss the ability to get that tasks "toast" up on the screen or something like that. can Got To Do, do that?
I'd say the gtasks (believe it's actually call SSI tasks) app is the best,
auto syncs for the first thirty days as a free app, and then after that it's manual sync.
I think it's the best because it's one of the few that can sync with google tasks AND can work offline (I don't have a data plan so this is esp. nice)!

Don't know what you mean by "detect" but if you mean actually switch them, the "go home" feature has a page system that works with a select few launchers, alternatively you can simply use different launchers altogether and use the load app feature to load them at different times. The latter is probably better, since then you can truly have different launchers and not be stuck with a single homescreen per "profile" like Chameleon is

Also seems like you're making good progress. I opened this thread and went to kickstarter, saw 893 backers and 7980 something $, posted this comment, went back 896 backers and 8008$

Any good calendar apps that can SAFELY sync with google account?

I think the default calendar app is horible to view on.
I use to have an S4 and Samsung had a good caldendar App, even when you view things on a monthly view the S4 was able to list certain things on each day. And swipe up/down to the next month
Is there anything like that for the moto X or from the App store?
I want it to synch to my google account but im cautious on allowing 3rd party apps knowing my gmail password to sync to my google calendar.
Any ideas?

Calengoo -- it is the perfect calendar app.
In my opinion most calendar apps are pretty bad from a UI standpoint. Try Today Calendar. Unlike other calendar apps, this one is based off the stock calendar and has added functionality with an improved UI. It also has a month view with the daily agenda under it.

I use SolCalendar it syncs well with Google, looks decent and allows the use of icons for appointments. Don't forget to disable the Google calendar app from settings once you switch to avoid double notifications.
So all these apps that can sync with google account and ask for you to login to your gmail through their app, how safe is it really? Are you now depending on that company / app to keep your password safe?

So all these apps that can sync with google account and ask for you to login to your gmail through their app, how safe is it really? Are you now depending on that company / app to keep your password safe?

None of these companies ever get your password. They receive a unique token from google that gives them authorization. You can go into your google account settings and revoke tokens at any time.
Just to throw another in: I like Jorte the most. It has a nice Widget, and is able to show you a lot information about your day even in monthly view. It is highly customisable, too. You can sync to your google calendar but i don't know about any security issues.
