Will the ICS OTA lock my bootloader??????
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium

No.

it will replace cwm recovery if u have cwm recovery installed and replace with stock recovery

And if you are rooted, you will lose root privileges.

imo it isnt worth upgrading for.

I don't get it .. Why go to the OTA when we have CM9 ?

Exactly.

2.3.4 request

Can someone point me in the right direction..I need the stock 2.3.4 rom please..searched but don't know which one to download..nexus s on T-Mobile USA..thx in advance..!!!
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I don't think there is a full 2.3.4 flashable full ROM. But there is 2.3.3 stock ROM, and if you flash it you will get 2.3.4 update OTA within like 10 minutes.

You have to wipe. You can always reflash recovery if you need to.

So just root again, it takes like 2 minutes. There are several easy guides for root here. Do you need my help or can you follow one of the guides?
I suggest you follow one of the guides and if you have trouble then ask me and I will help you.

there is a one click unroot you can use
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167819&highlight=one+click+unroot
it will return you back to out of the box stock so you don't have to worry about anything.

Root and cwm recovery aren't related.
Uninstalling su.zip with TB is like saying I don't want black, but go on and wipe black with black lol (TB requires root to perform most actions)
Just install a Google full rom (sticky in general section) and lock the bootloader afterwards.

I don't get what you say. Installing a full Android stock rom will delete cwm recovery and add the stock recovery again (as well as restoring the install-recovery.sh again).

A full ROM from Google will come with stock recovery, no need to worry about that when using that method.

If your radio is the correct one that came with the version you have installed, why bother.. if not they can see that the bootloader was unlocked just from comparing your device's Android + radio version versus what it would have been via OTA.

The official ICS is already out?!
Also you can install OTA updates and keep root just install 'OTA RootKeeper' from the android market when you have successfully rooted your device
I didn't test it yet because I modded my stock rom too much and there wasn't an update >4.0.3 yet. But the app is from supercurio and will probably work well
you can flash a stock otA ICS 4.0.3 rom after rooting

It's pretty easy to root ics
