I have went thru the 'one click process' with what I thought was success. Now I can't seem to get SU permissions. I have read a few threads but I just can't figure out how to flash theSU fix.
A bit of help would be awesome.

You need to flash the su fix with clockwork recovery. So reboot to recovery, hold volume down + power buttons, volume down to "recovery" once there go to "install zip from sd card" navigate to the su fix and hit the power button, volume down to yes, press power button, let it do its thing, when done use back arrow til you get to reboot system, push power and it will reboot and once booted you should be good to go.

You don't have full root access if you didn't flash a custom recovery.
Did you use Captainkrtek's one click?

Not true at all. Root has nothing do with recovery, except for the fact that you need root to flash a custom recovery. You can be properly rooted and run stock recovery all day long. I am assuming the OP is having issues flashing a new recovery, because rom manager isn't being granted su by the superuser app. Is this accurate?
I would really suggest doing it the long way as you will benefit from it in the long run. All you really need to know is how to use adb. Have a look here for that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502010

Whoops your right, I just think of that as part of full root. But if he has root why won't su work properly? That doesn't make sense...

I had issues after I rooted getting the superuser app to grant privileges to Rom Manager. I couldn't flash clockwork recovery because superuser just wasn't popping up asking for permission. I have no idea why. Tried rebooting a few times as was suggested in the root/s-off guide, to no avail. I finally got it to pop up by just clicking around inside the rom manager app. Can't remember exactly what I pressed, but all of a sudden it popped up, and after I clicked yes, I could flash clockwork recovery no problem.

It's because Su the application, and being able to Su to root, are technically different things. Su the app needs a patch to work on TB.

I recently purchased Rom Manager but every time I select backup current rom it reboots the phone to a screen that only has options to reboot recovery, reboot, recover, & shutdown. Its the same screen I saw when holding the volume up and turning on the phone. What am I missing?
Thanks
Gord

You need to root and install Clockwork Recovery to use the built in Backups of ROM Manager.
The phone is rooted and rom manager says clockworkmod is installed but Im still not getting anywhere
I just checked again, and I have 3.0.2.4 of clockworkmod installed.

Try installing clockwork recovery manually. It doesn't sound like you have it installed. At least not correctly.
AHA! Success... I redownloaded and flashed clockworkmod again and this time I was able to backup my rom.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated

After much consideration I decided to root and install ICS from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354263 following this guide.
I rooted successfully and used ROM Manager to make a backup. When I came to installing the mod, my phone is just stuck on this screen -> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7960393/IMG_20111125_125549.jpg
It has been like that for about 15 minutes. Can anybody help me?
Thanks
EDIT: Apparently clockworkmod recovery got wiped :s
Flash a new cmw with fastboot and you'll be set.

Have you tried do go through the steps of the one click root process again? (assuming that is how to you rooted your phone the first time)
If you can boot into the OS, flash cwm twice in a row using Rom Manager. It takes two flashes to get the recovery to stick.
If no OS, push the cwm file using adb.

How comfortable are you using terminal. I'm sure if you googled how to install twrp in terminal (that's how I did it for my evo 4glte) it will come up I don't remember exact commands sorry, but I hope I have been helpful they will give exact commands just move the terminal screen over so you can copy the txt from the page.

Hi all,
I installed CyanogenMod and played with it for some day and now i would like to restore my backup.
I installed gooManager some days ago, because ive seen allot of people saying that is was awesome, so i gave it a try, and now i can't boot my phone in clockworkmod. I installed ROM manager 5.5.2.3 in hope to get my phone to startup in clockwork recovery, but no succes.
Can anyone give me advise how to remove "team win recovery project" from my phone? or a way to force my phone to boot in "clockwork recovery"
I am new to this forum, so i hope this is the right place to ask this question.
When you open up ROM Manager, tap "Recovery Setup". Next, tap "install or update recovery" and then confirm that you have the Verizon GS3. Click "OK" when given the warning. Finally, click "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". It will download, and next time you boot into recovery, it will be CWM

Did you update to the newest cwm? The gs3 only supports up till 6.0.2.8 or something like that, which is not the absolute newest. ROM Manager will check for you based on the phone, so that's a good app to have.
Sent from GS3 runnung CM10.1 and blacked out theme.
Hey guys thanks for the information. With this information i managed to get clockworkmod to boot.
