First and foremost, this is the CAPTIVATE section, which is a GALAXY S phone. We have no idea about your Galaxy Y
SECONDLY: 3.0 will NEVER be released for phones as its a tablet only OS. This is covered extensively on many google searches and xda searches. i would suggest you learn how to use those
Last and most important, galaxy S may NEVER see a 4.0 release, because it is end of life. again, we dont know anything about the galaxy y because this is a galaxy S section.

Im fairly new to android, got my first android phone (galaxy s) in march. It came with android 2.2.
I recently used a galaxy s 2, with android 2.3.3 with touchwiz 4.0. I've seen people on youtube with galaxy s's with touchwiz 4.0 with/or android 2.3.3.
I know little about rooting, custom roms etc..
I was wondering how to get android 2.3.3 with/or touchwiz 4.0 on my galaxy s.
If anyone knows how can you give me step by step instructions,
much appreciated.
know any kitkat toucwiz roms? never saw one in the development. P3100.

Since Samsung never released any 4.4 update to Tab 2, that would be hard. Unless someone ported the Galaxy Tab 4 ROM to Galaxy Tab 2, but that would be a real challenge.
Do you only want it for the new look or would you like to run the new 4.4 TouchWiz-based apks?
hi, i wanted to know that if its possible for devs to port the OS of s4 google edition (yes i mean the original software and not the themed TW of many usual samsung smartphones) to galaxy note N7100. if anyone knows that please help me here
Check for AOSP based roms. There are a few but that device is close to dead in the development world.

I really like the new TouchWiz that is present in the new Samsung 5.0 Lollipop.
I have an Samsung Galaxy Express 2 - SM-G3815 - with Android 4.4.2 and i know that Samsung is not updating this one to 5.0.
Question : Is there a way to upgrade the touchwiz in my Galaxy Express 2 ?
Sorry for my bad English and hope there are some other people interested in this upgrade.

Well, as you said, you don't have Lollipop from Google (or Samsung).
But you have Cyanogen Mod 12 for your phone which is more or less like Lollipop.

I have tryed that mod and i don't like it.
I like the Samsung Brand Andoid and the new TouchWiz.

By the way, CynogenMod is a ROM like Lollipop, not a simple mod, if you didn't know
I know but i don't want a full rom with no NFC. Tryed it by the way.
I just want the stock rom with the new touchwiz ))
I think is time to buy an S4 or S5 Galaxy. But i don't use all the features that is why i like the Galaxy Express 2. Looks nice and at the and of the day it does what a phone it's supposed to do.
