There is nothing wrong with it... the distortion represents some Nvidia fixes that were incorporated into the Tiamat kernel a while ago, so it's actually a good thing.

My Xoom is working great except for the fact that when I boot it up, it stays at the Red Moto Logo screen for the greater portion of its boot time. In other words, instead of being able to view the entire boot animation play during boot, my Xoom stays on the Moto Logo screen for over 30 seconds before it displays the boot animation, which it then only plays for about 5 seconds or less. It used to briefly show the Logo screen and then play the boot animation in its normal length and I would really like to be able to view it again, especially now that there are custom boots posted. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Here's the problem: when the TF boots into the OS, the screen cuts off after the boot animation. I can see it fine in CWM also.
I was running the Prime ROM with HC 3.2. This ROM has worked quite well for months. Earlier this week, I was going to boot it up and use it while riding in the car. The screen was fine during the boot animation, but as soon as it hit the OS, it went blank.
I hit the power button and could tell that was working, because I could see a quick flash of backlight when I pressed it. But no screen display.
So I saw that Revolution 3.0 was released, so I installed it. The screen worked fine through CWM and everything was fine up until I installed the OS and went through the initial bootup and setup process in ICS.
When I turned it off and back on, it wouldn't come on. So I don't really know where to start. I assume this has something to do with the backlight sensor, and I have looked around here for some references, but nothing comes up.
Is there a way to disable the backlight sensor completely to test my idea? Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks all.
My TF was serviced by ASUS back in the summer after I dropped and bent the bezel. They put a new power button daughterboard and bezel on it.
I just wiped the tablet with CWM and it let me reboot and go through the ICS setup steps again.
Screen went dark the very instant I touched the brightness slider control...
I flash ROMs to check them out and eventually choose a daily driver, but they often change the boot animation. I don't really care for the one that came with the SGSIII, but there is one that has a blue circle of light that goes around the Samsung logo and then disappears, and then the Samsung logo glows blue while it boots. I have what I thought was that animation, but it's in .qn files or something like that. Where can I get this animation?
Well the whole story is as follows.
Is there a kernel or something to flash that will make the first screen black? I am talking about the screen where it says HTC Quietly brilliant. On my current galaxy this is the screen where the kernel name is shown. Is there something similar for the Sensation?
A way to bypass the white background and show just black will also do. I just want not to have the white background just after powering up the phone.

if you mean the splash screen i think you can't remove it at all
but maybe i am mistaken too
i never seen someone to mention that he removed the splash screen completely
you can change boot flash screen , boot animation and down animation check in themes and apps section..there are different boot animations along with instructions on flashing it and so is for splash screen

I was changing my boot animation last night (and it was working with different animations) on the stock rom with the stock rom on a Sony Xperia SP. I accidentally changed the resolution, and now it won't boot up. I can only assume that the phone is attempting to boot regardless, as the "Sony" logo shows, followed by a black screen, then after a short amount of time a dimmed black screen, then a re-brightened black screen (As it re-brightens I can only assume I've reached the lock screen).
I have gotten it to boot successfully before.
Once pressing random buttons which looks like I forced a resolution change, which I screwed up by changing the boot animation without changing the resolution (which didn't fix anything obviously) causing it to restart.
The second time was after that, I somehow booted it into safemode, but I reinserted my sim card (after taking it out in desperation) causing it to auto-restart.
I haven't been able to boot into safe mode since.
I'd prefer if there was non-computer solutions. Until the 30th I have no laptop, just a tablet and a functioning RPi.
Thanks!
